I apologize for the terrible title, now that I have your attention in here, here's a link to the pianist whom my username is from. Wilhelm Kempff. The piece is the first third from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and in my opinion only Volodos(I believe it's Volodos playing, sounds good enough!) has played better. So take a break from pop, rock, and techno! Listen to some classical/baroque/romantic everyonce and a while.

You are a very odd person... And I mean that in a good way... I think. >.>
I mean seriously, who goes by such a user name, shows a black and white pic from ages long ago in their ava, and posts this kinda stuff nowadays?
That said, I enjoyed it. Thanks. Though, I'd like to hear a song not so common perhaps. Have anything else?

It's something different thats for sure but so so awesome. Nothing like having a little class being brought here. First time someone has used a screen name with some class and originality behind it.

Your right, that was nice to listen to. Thanks for the link, it's nice to not be spirited off to a viral video for once. Apparently there is taste and class somewhere in the internet.

At least we weren't Rick Rolled. >> -cough-
Kempff sounds like an older boy. 23-30 years old I say -gigglesnort-
YAY CLASSY ORIGINALITY! Yes, Larxy. Yes. Let's.

Oh dear, what have I created? Anyway, here's more. This one is a bit more contemporary. The group performing here is a fairly new Japanese Orchestra called "Musik Siesta", who do a rather lovely job of bringing out the piece's humour and beat. Another version of the song is done by an equally talented flute quartet, The Helsinki Flute Quartet, who for a flute quartet in an orchestral arrangement do pretty darn good. They also know how to use little "techniques" to give a piece that right kind of feel. The song is "Plink, Plank, Plunk" by Leroy Anderson, who is in my opinion a very under-appreciated composer from the early twentieth century. Anderson mixed a creative sense of jazz and contemporary orchestra that from the sound of it seems like a viable source of some of today's video game music. Other pieces by him are Jazz Legato, Jazz Pizzicato, Blue Tango, amongst others. These are all more "gig" tunes than actual orchestrations and Anderson is known for his small jazzy tunes. Wikipedia has a fairly decent page on him. Music history is never appreciated as it should be.

Seriously man... what is a guy like you doing in a place like this?
>.>;;
Please ignore the fact that that sounded like a pick up line...
^_~
But anyway, nice. Thanks for sharing with us. I rather liked it.

I see I'm being hit up? Well too bad that mother says to not speak to bad girls. That is an honest question Larxy, and here's how you answer it, "I, being Kempff, am a member on FM because of ______", by filling in the blank! That aside, here's another piece that I think almost everyone will be able to recognize. A little Gershwin for your life. It is a little long. I think it's important that it's stated this interpretation of "Rhapsody in Blue" is much more romantic than Gershwin intended. This rare jewel (there are some imperfections in this recording, so it sounds like a movie from the 40's, 50's) shows a different perspective of a much more jazzy blue feel, rather than the epic drama given by more recent renditions.

Thank you, however I would not have known most of these pieces had it not been for my tutor of ten years now, playing the cello, whom I do not believe I can ever re-pay with the knowledge and insight she has given me. The wisened giving back to the masses I guess you could say. Here's something[/url] fitting for the season. No extra comments, just a relaxing piece.

Oh come now, if everyone fitted into a stereotypical archtype then the world would be ever so dull. You of all people should know that, Larxy. I'm really glad someone like him is here. Adds flavour.
That said, I don't hold much appreciation for the Classical. I understand its intent and I realize how masterful it is (mostly), but it just doesn't click with me. The only one I've actually ever liked would be Ode to Joy.
