~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Physical appearance ~ :
The Face of Marluxia
• Height: Tall
• Hair Color: Salmon Pink
• Eye Color: Deep Azure
• Build: Toned Muscular
• Clothing: Varies, a staple is the Organization Cloak
Marluxia has a well-built body with evidently well toned muscles. He has a haughty chest that shows off developed body muscles, particularly in the abdominal area. Marluxia is taller then the average man by at least a head and he weighs rather less then what one would suspect of all his body build. He has clear, smooth skin of a light shade.
Marluxia is a handsome man, to the point that he almost resembles a woman. His features are regal, bearing a noble and aesthetically pleasing visage. Marluxia’s chin is roughly sharp, his mouth is slight and delicate, and his nose is elegant. His eyes are a deep blue that are always transfixed upon an unforeseeable distance, always looking beyond a person, beyond an obstacle as if to a distant utopia. Marluxia’s hair is a long and messy mane of pink, yes pink; a manly pink. It reaches down below his shoulders.
Clothing/Accessories ~ :
During business, Marluxia wears the customary Organization XIII Cloak. The black robe itself is hooded, long sleeved, and reaches all the way to his ankles. It seems to be made of leather and has many various silver zips here and there. Black gloves are also part of the uniform. Underneath the cloak are hakama-esque pants and knee high silver-trimmed boots. When on more casual trips, Marluxia has taken a liking to wearing various articles of clothing. Of these, includes a white knee-long fur jacket, a floral design kimono and a turtle neck black jumper. Whilst not usual, Marluxia does have a penchant for trinkets like necklaces, hair bands and even a pair of glasses due to his fancy for high fashion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Personality~
"None of us wants to be suspicious of a comrade."[/center][/i]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alignment ~ : Neutral Evil
Ambition ~ :
What Marluxia wants most of all? Kingship, authority, command; as fitting of someone with his talents. Unlike most Nobodies, regaining his heart is secondary when it comes to his ambitions. Really, he does not care about recovering such a needless thing. He had already left behind his heart like flowers beside a grave. Rightfully power-hungry, Marluxia desires an unrivalled greatness. He seeks to rule all in his sight and to be recognized for his genius; to recreate the empire he once had. It was for this little piece of selfishness, he rebelled against the 13th Order and eventually fell. However, even defeat cannot shake his determination.
Having risen again, Marluxia will walk the same path to creation through destruction he had before. At first glance, the reason behind Marluxia’s ambition is not complicated. It really seems like simple naked ambition to assuage his colossal ego. However, this is deceptive. Whilst it is true in part, Marluxia’s ambitions and desire for glory unparalleled are just derivatives of another deeper want. What Marluxia truly desires is to see the end of the dream that has plagued him for time memorial. What lay in the ever-distant Utopia? What awaited him in paradise, at the end of ambitions and dreams? The answer to these is what drives Marluxia’s tenacious determination, his fathomless resolve; to finally find an end to the dream he had always reached out for, but never obtained.MisBehavior ~ :
Being a Nobody and having no real emotion, Marluxia’s public personality can be anything he needs. Highly adaptive and capable of convincing improvisation, Marluxia can be a saintly, kind gentleman one moment and a viciously, vindictive inquisitor the next. However, the true personality he has adopted as a Nobody is that of a shrewd, wily and amoral genius; perhaps much less of a façade than needed by other Nobodies. Marluxia is dangerously calculative, the very epitome of ambition. He is driven and ruthless, tolerating nothing and no-one to stand in the way of his dream. He would do anything, cut down anyone with callous regard, all for the sake of his goal; in this way, he is often mistaken for cruel. Marluxia does not enjoy death yet he does not shy away from it. Though, when he can avoid it, Marluxia chooses not to fight personally. Not from lack of power, but lack of interest.
A narcissist, Marluxia is self absorbed and has an absolute confidence in himself and his abilities. This does not mean he’s foolish and overestimates himself; he acknowledges his limitations, however, Marluxia is the kind of man to win even with a zero percent chance of victory. Marluxia is a stubborn person, dedicated and motivated, he refuses to surrender even in the direst of situations. The Graceful Assassin is blunt and harsh, honest in that he does not stand for incompetence and has been known to have a sharp, merciless tongue. Highly manipulative, he is not above exploiting others for his own purposes; Marluxia cares only for his ambition, all else is arbitrary. Being a prodigal neophyte, Marluxia bears a very obvious superiority complex. He is cold, but elegant, and treats others as his lesser. A perfectionist, Marluxia methodically plans ahead several steps, to rid himself of any unpredictable variables.
~Weapons~
"The Keyblade's power...How I've longed to make it my own!"
[/i]"The Keyblade's power...How I've longed to make it my own!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Primary Weapon(s)
ID: Graceful Dahlia
Quality: Supreme
A scythe that represents the aspects of a flower. The green shaft of the scythe uniquely shaped so that it curves back like a stem. The pink blade represents the petals and is nearly as long as the handle; a gold cross connects it with the stem. Though scythes are usually heavy weapons that should be wielded with two hands to make full use of its unwieldy power, Marluxia’s Graceful Dahlia has a handgrip and can be used by him with only one hand as if it were as light as a baton without losing any of the power. He can summon and uncommon Graceful Dahlia from but a single rose petal and in certain cases, more than one at a time.
Status Effect: Death; when this Status Effect is active, a target already afflicted with Doom will have their Countdown reduced by 3 upon being struck by this weapon. Any other target will enter a state where they are highly susceptible to being inflicted with Doom for three turns; meaning, even a passing glance between eyes will induce it (See ‘Whispers of a Beautiful Death’).
Whispers of a Beautiful Death – Countdown to the Sweet Sorrow of Parting
Taking upon the symbol of Death that is the scythe, Marluxia sentences an enemy to death. To inflict this ability's deadly curse upon his target Marluxia must be able to maintain full eye contact with them for entire single turn. Without warning, upon the beginning of his second turn since the eye contact began, the opponent will experience a brief waking dream in which the Graceful Assassin is behind him/her and whispers sweet words of premonition, predicting their imminent death. The exact words are not remembered when coming to from the brief dream and finding Marluxia where he was before (the waking dream might’ve seem to have taken longer for the enemy, but it was but the briefest of moments). The target of this ability will now be afflicted by the status effect Doom as an ethereal Nobody Emblem forms around them and then disperses.
When Doom begins the character affected will have a countdown of 10 placed upon them, a prediction of their end. Every turn, the countdown goes down by 1. There is no conceivable way of removing this curse except by getting clear of Marluxia by at least several hundred leagues (i.e. fleeing the battlefield) or by locking eyes with Marluxia for one full turn (The same manner with which he inflicted Doom).Whenever Marluxia’s Graceful Dahlia strikes a target, the countdown goes down by 2 (Note, being hit by Crescent Wave, when Graceful Dahlia’s Status Effect is activated or the scythes of Spectre has a similar effect; see their respective sections). If an opponent manages to strike Marluxia himself with his own Graceful Dahlia, it won’t do any damage but the Counter will actually go up by 2 to give an enemy more time. If the counter reaches 0, then the target will instantly be brought upon the very verge of death, though not actually dying; just at the tip of death from which Marluxia could push them over. Thus, they will be rendered unconsciousness immediately and be drained of all physical, magical and mental energy (Death will not be dealt without the other player's permission, however). As a consequence of using Doom upon a target, however, Marluxia's Graceful Dahlia will no longer deal any damage or cause harm to the Doom victim when it strikes, it will only decrease their invisible counter by 2.
Strength: Strong
Uses: Marluxia can only use it and have it afflicting one enemy at a time.
Crescent Wave
Marluxia can release from his scythe when he’s holding it a crescent wave of red and black energy that travels at most a medium range (approx. 20 meters). The Crescent Wave is only a half longer and larger than the blade of his scythe (so about the height of an adult). The Crescent Wave moves at a breakneck pace, leaving at most only a second between releasing and reaching the full 20 meters of its range. The Crescent Wave does, however, no more damage than if a person was slashed by the actual scythe itself, incurring similar slash and tear damage despite being made of energy; this in itself is still very formidable. Suspended within the red and black energy of the Crescent Wave are however a condense packet of rose petals that explode outwards upon contact in a messy flurry; causing confusion and additional damage when it hits an opponent or when an opponent tries to block the attack. In regards to ‘Whispers of a Beautiful Death’, being hit by the Crescent Wave is synonymous as being hit by the scythe itself but will only reduce the Countdown by 1. The red and black energy will no longer deal the Doom victim actual damage, but the petals that are released from it still can.
Strength: Moderate
Uses: Unlimited, Marluxia can use Crescent Wave as much as he pleases, whenever he pleases; though he can only releases one at a time.
Wither and Bloom
Marluxia taps his scythe on a terrestrial surface, the bottom of his scythe’s shaft or the scythe’s blade usually, and a wave of energy spreads out across a circular area of 5 meters radius at a pace similar to a full sprint. Anyone touching the surface this wave of energy wave passes will be momentarily paralyzed long enough to be struck by a single physical attack (if they’re close enough) or fast ability before they are able to move again (approx. 3 seconds).
Strength: Weak
Uses: Marluxia can use this ability once every three turns.
Deadly Wheel
Using himself and his scythe, Marluxia becomes a deadly pinwheel that can fly across the battlefield towards his enemies. He spins so quickly that his blade becomes like a complete wheel. The razor sharp edge continuously spins to easily slice off anything that gets in its way using the sheer force of the spin and the keenness of the blade, be it metal or flesh. Marluxia can fly in this state from the propulsion of the spin, moving at a pace akin to that of an object thrown at great strength. He doesn’t necessarily need to spin vertically and can shift himself horizontally if the need arises. Marluxia can only determine the location of an enemy through attaching a rose petal to them in this state (See Murdering Rose Shower). However, his greatest vulnerability in this state is that being struck on the sides of the wheel with sufficiently strong force will return him to his normal form and he will suffer any wounds from that particular blow. Any blow inflicted by the scythe in this state deal actual damage regardless of whether they have Doom (See Whispers of a Beautiful Death) on them or not; thus it will not reduce the Countdown.
Strength: Weak
Uses: The wheel can last for up to three turns, or until Marluxia willingly gives it up. It has a cooldown of six turns.
Secondary Weapon(s)
ID: Organization XIII Cloak
As described in ‘Appearance’. In battle, Marluxia’s Organization XIII Cloak acts as if he were wearing full plated heavy armor whilst still weighing the same as a normal robe would. This convenient piece of clothing also makes him invulnerable to his own ‘element’, any natural acid or plant life based abilities will not penetrate his clothing (But can still hurt his exposed skin).

[/i]“You turn from the truth because your heart is weak! You will never defeat me!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AP left:
Bloody Rose Shower – At the Scene of an Artistic Murder
A littering, uncountable amount number of rose petals, reaching millions, can be summoned and manipulated by Marluxia. Being his specialty, Marluxia is in tune with the petals and their course can be articulated extremely well to the point Marluxia can sense the location and move in a specific manner individual petals amongst the swarm. If the need arises, the petals can congregate together, packing tightly, to form a relatively solid hard object of almost any shape and size. Marluxia often uses his petals concentrated together in many layers to quickly defend against physical attacks. Additionally, since Marluxia is able to sense the presence of his petals, by latching them on a person, he can roughly keep track of their movements across a large area.
Though seemingly harmless, they are contrarily a force to be reckoned with. Not only can these flowers move fast like the wind, they cut and slice with the same sharpness as razors. Though they are unable to pierce through defenses, for defenses that have holes in them, the petals are small and fast enough to slink through to the soft flesh inside. By themselves, they are not fatal, but can easily blind an opponent or, if given the chance, travel inside them to wreak havoc (They cannot fit through the hole in ears, but can fit through mouths). En masse, these petals can kill an opponent through an insurmountable number of deep cuts. They petals regenerate even if many of them are destroyed and there always seems to be a consistent swarm of millions. The rose petals however can be dispersed easily with even just the wind and force from swinging a weapon. Though they can still travel in most windy conditions, if the wind is particularly strong like in a hurricane, the petals are too weak to resist the push.
Strength: Strong
Uses: Passive and unlimited, Marluxia can call upon and dismiss the rose petals at will with little effort.
Crucifixion Thorns – The Black Remains of a Lost Paradise
Marluxia has the ability to generate dark pools from which black vines are born. When first called, these pools can reach anywhere up to a diameter of 10 meters. However, every turn, unless destroyed, the pools double in diameter (10, then 20, then 40 meters etc. Given enough time, they would be able to produce more vines than that which imprisoned Sleeping Beauty). The larger the pool, the more vines are formed from it; usually in a 10 meter diameter pool, a few dozen vines are present. This number doubles in a 20 meter dark pool. The vines are black and are only about as thick as a sign pole, though riddled completely with sharp thorns that dig deeply into the flesh upon contact. The movement of the vines is quick and erratic, like snakes slithering towards prey, and can reach about a kilometer away from the very edge of their original pool (so the larger the pool, the further the vines can reach). The vines possess great strength and can even lift heavy objects, like buses and houses, when working together.
They are highly resilient against physical damage, being impossible to cut with normal metals and their hold is completely unbreakable by pure physical strength alone. The vines are however particularly vulnerable to energy based attacks (fire, lasers etc.) and can be destroyed easily by them. Despite this, they regenerate quickly so to definitively stop them, one needs to do so at the source; the dark pool. Physical attacks simply do not work on the pulsating darkness, a portal and ooze, of the dark pool, but an energy attack of at least Moderate strength can destroy the dark pool and rid the scourge of vines in two strikes. A Strong strength energy attack needs only one strike. The dark pools seemingly have their own sentience and continue to grow and defend themselves from destruction autonomously. If someone is caught in the dark pool themselves, then it acts as a quicksand that will suck them in along with the vines pulling them down; as with quicksand, the more they struggle physically, the faster they will sink. It usually takes five full turns to completely drown an average sized person. If they are affected by Doom, for each turn they are stuck in the dark pool, they lose an additional count of 1. In addition, Marluxia himself acts as a sort of fourth dark pool and black vines can come from his person directly (under his sleeves, from his skin etc.) but he doesn’t expand so there is never more than a few dozen vines.
Strength: Strong
Uses: Only thee dark pools can be active at any time. After destruction, it takes four turns for that dark pool to be formed again.
Fickle Beauty – Leaving Flowers by the Grave
Marluxia temporarily transforms himself into a collection of rose petals and disperses to the wind in all directions. He later reforms as his normal state in a different location that is at least five meters away from an opponent. Though this ability can be used as a quick escape or an ambush, it also has several weaknesses. The rose petals move quickly, as fast as the wind, and if they pass through an opponent they will hurt them. Furthermore, the mass of rose petals that make him up don’t all have to be together until he reforms and often he confuses opponents by mixing himself up in his other rose petals (See ‘Bloody Rose Shower’). Firstly, Marluxia must stay in his dispersed form as a collective of rose petals for at least one post of the enemy, only able to reform during the next turn. Secondly, is that he is very vulnerable to damage, in particular energy damage, in this form as he has no defense to speak of being a mass rose petals. Destruction of even on rose petal will come up as a small wound on his body, therefore destruction of several more will develop into larger and larger wounds. If a great amount is destroyed, he may even be defeated altogether; making it his most vulnerable form
Strength: Weak
Uses: Marluxia can only use this ability once after every five turns.
Elegant Assassin – That which Earned his Namesake
A master of sudden, quick and jerking movements that lack waste and are perfectly efficient; this is the Graceful Assassin. Marluxia is able to act three times as fast as normal with this ability, but only in small actions like attacking with his scythe or jerking his body out of the way. He would not be able to move three time as fast over a great distance, running at such a speed is not his forte. Quick sudden but small movements like sleights of hands, full body twirls or rapid attacking is his boasted profession.
Strength: Weak
Uses: Marluxia’s actions are three times as fast only for a single turn. He can only use this ability again after a four turn cooldown.
Minions1. Grade: S
Name(s): Spectre
Appearance(s):
Behold, Spectre
A peculiar looking giant mech, Spectre is predominantly white, with black joints. It has black, tattered appendages hanging from behind as well as a flowing white cape. A beak like structure protrudes from the front and the lower half of the body ends in a point. It has two arms, each ending in a hand that is an enlarged blade of Graceful Dahlia. If one looks carefully enough, the face of a woman hidden under a hood can be seen at the forefront. Marluxia usually rides Spectre from his throne of flowers on top, though he can dismount whenever he chooses. Spectre hovers above the ground and can move at a maximum speed akin to a sports car, though it can make acute turns as if it were a walking person. Spectre is capable of ramming into enemies at maximum speed with the full force of several trucks.
Abilities:
Garden Symbiosis – Co-existence between the Flower and the Oak
Marluxia is able to mount and dismount Spectre as he pleases. When he does mount Spectre, Marluxia embarks on his mount’s Graceful Dahlia some of the powers of his own. Being struck by Spectre’s blades will be synonymous to being struck by Marluxia’s own Graceful Dahlia, meaning they will reduce the count of a person afflicted with Doom by 2. Spectre’s two blades can likewise send out Crescent Waves from each blade, but not at the same time Marluxia is sending out his; though the Crescent Waves from Spectre are proportionally larger (a half longer and larger than the blade) they are only half as fast as Marluxia’s normal Crescent Wave. Spectre can release two Wither and Bloom from both scythes; alternatively, Spectre can use Wither and Bloom in an original way, flying up high before dropping down and causing a Wither and Bloom with twice the radius (10m). In either case, the cooldown of Wither and Bloom is doubled as a result. When Spectre uses these abilities it is as Marluxia had, thus cooldowns that in effect are so for both; likewise both Marluxia and Spectre cannot be using the same ability at once.
Strength: Moderate
Uses: Passive
Sinful Apple – The Temptation that fell Man
Initially, Spectre is vulnerable only at the two blades, and invulnerable anywhere else on its body. The blades of Spectre are as durable as steel and require at least enough damage to destroy steel to destroy them. Once destroyed, Spectre itself becomes vulnerable to damage again. Also, several abilities Spectre uses while Marluxia is mounted (See Garden Symbiosis) are disabled (Namely Crescent Waves, its Doom effect and using Wither and Bloom with its blades). The two blades of Spectre do regenerate after a while. Spectre protects its rider, Marluxia, when he is mounted. Large pink petals from Spectre will surround and protect Marluxia, encasing him in a flower bud essentially, and making him impervious to harm for a turn. Of course, it also in a way imprisons him, so Marluxia can’t carry out any actions during that turn, however all active abilities continue on normally.
Strength: Moderate
Uses: It takes Spectre seven turns to regenerate its blades after they are destroyed, unless it itself is destroyed during that time. Spectre can only encase Marluxia within a protective flower bud once ever four turns.
Elemental Weakness: Nothingness
History: N/A2. Grade: D
Name(s): Blaster Rose Buds
Appearance(s):
Eight rose buds the size of a cat levitate and move at the speed of a swallow, often twirling during flight. They are a red pink hue for their petals and bear a black sepal.
Abilities:
Blast Shot
Fires a shot of laser that’s actually concentrated corrosive acid. The acid is more effective against inorganic substances like metals or fibers than it is on organic substances like flesh or wood. It will thus be able to gradually eat through inorganic substances at a pace relative to how strong the substance is (Corroding metal usually takes a while, half an hour about, while fibers are usually corroded instantly). The acid will only eat away at peripheral skin and leave a harsh pain and irritation.
Strength: Weak
Uses: Unlimited. Each Rose Bud is capable of shooting one blast of laser each turn.
"So this... This is the heart of a hero..."
[/i]"So this... This is the heart of a hero..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The epoch in which Lumaria lived was an age of turmoil, a large scale war had raged for decades between the countries; the kingdoms were instable and the economy fragile. It was a time where a strong leader was needed to break the stalemate of the war. This was especially so in Marluxia’s home country, which was one of the major powers invigorating the war.
Even before his birth, his parents knew Lumaria would outshine all other men. It was not a parental bias, but a precognitive acknowledgement like instinct. They just knew; they were right. As he grew up in his Noble family who earned their title through the trade of flowers, Lumaria was a beautiful child that underwent the tutelage of many astute scholars; however, because of this prestige he was rather isolated from others. He would often gaze enviously at the commoners traversing and socializing freely together. Without realizing it until it was too late, little Lumaria found that he wanted to preserve the happy faces of people like those he saw outside his study.
Despite being surrounded by flowers from his parent’s business as well as admirers all his life, Lumaria didn’t have any particular like for them. Such flirtatious things were not for the studious and dutiful Lumaria, who sought to be a trusted advisor of the King himself.
While he was quiet and reserved, Lumaria had become a kind person beyond compare. He was so idealistic he sought to change the raging wars from the inside. Lumaria did not consider himself a Saint, but he hated the sight of people dying. To prevent that, he wanted to affect the war mongering King’s decisions. Not content with protecting those within his sight, Lumaria sought to protect all. He was a real fool. However, if fleetingly, it seemed he could do it. Lumaria was popular, beloved and admired by all, for his charisma, attractive looks and subtle pride. He rapidly rose in the political games of nobles through his quick wits and gentle nature; the people loved him. He was successful and it wasn’t long before he had the King’s right ear.
Unfortunately, Lumaria’s words could not reach the King, bent on expanding his empire no matter how many troops had to die. Lumaria pleaded time and time again for a stop to the senseless violence, but on that matter alone, the King would not yield to Lumaria’s superior wisdom and logic. Lumaira despaired; he had fought so hard to reach the King only to find the man was beyond saving.
It was around the time that Lumaria learned the King planned to force even children to the battlefield to make up for dwindling numbers. While they could not fight, it was hoped that the children would serve as canon fodder and perhaps even psychological shock against the enemy. It was a low tactic only a monster would create. In a private audience with the King, Lumaria again begged with all his might for the man to see reason. When it yet again failed, Lumaria’s eyes darkened and for the first time in his life, he acted before thinking. Lumaria drew his sword he ran it through the King cleanly, without so much as a sound escaping from the dying man. It was a graceful assassination.
The next morning, the King’s attendants woke to find him dead within his chambers. An investigation ensued by all evidence pointed to an assassination by rival countries. Lumaria had covered his tracks well, even under pressure from his first time killing. A grand funeral rite, as befitting of the King, took place throughout the land. As men and women paid homage and laid flowers at the crypt of the King, Lumarira came to enjoy the presence of flowers more. After all, more then anything flowers are a symbol of death, they are what is left before the grave; the last gift to the dead. So, flowers belong to death.
It was since then that Lumaria was disturbed by a dream that would repeat itself for the rest of his existence and even onto his non-existence. It was a dream in which he walked a road towards an ever-distant utopia; a perfect paradise that was always just beyond his reach. No matter how much he ran, or how much he stretched out his hand; it was always too far. Lumaria could never reach the end of his dream. However, thanks to it, he was able to deal with reality.
What ensued could’ve been chaos had Lumaria not acted quickly. The Nobles were divided, since the King was childless, each wanted to succeed him themselves. Lumaria cut them all down publicly. Simply walked into the Court with sword in hand and slew any who claimed they deserved to be King. Then, just like that, Lumaria sat himself upon the throne and with these words, he assured his monarchy.
“If any think themselves my better, then come take the throne from me!”
It was a rhetorical dare. Even the most egotistical Noble could not deny Lumaria’s attributes; he was gifted and he was loved by the people. The soldiers, the commoners, the clergy; they were all with him. Defying him would mean death now that he was upon the throne. Thus, the Nobles fell to their knees; King Lumaria the Gracious had ascended. It was an unorthodox by unquestionable usurp of the throne. He had conflicted with himself, he had humored his dream and he had come to a conclusion; if war would not die, then he would kill it. His ideals of protecting everyone had been shattered the moment he killed the last King. To protect something, means to destroy something else. Lumaria decided to abandon his innocence and protect as many people as he could, by sacrificing as little as he had to. To save a thousand, he would kill a hundred. This was how Lumaria realized he had not only left behind flowers by the graves, but also his heart.
This was when the tides of war shifted drastically. Under Lumaria’s absolute command, his country defeated its enemies one by one. Superior numbers, better weapons, greater resources…they all meant nothing before Lumaria’s brilliance. Every time Lumaria’s armies took to the battlefield, the enemy quivered. Not from the forces, but of what the genius King Lumaria had planned. He was merciless, to win he would resort to almost any means. His tactics were unconventional and highly effective; the enemy fell to a loss in ground, the weather changes and even traitorous forces. At times, Lumaria even had the children of his rivals taken as hostages; realizing the hypocrisy he was forced into. Yet, it was simple, to bring peace to a war; someone had to win. To destroy evil, Lumaria became evil itself in everyone’s eyes. He pursued the end of his dreams, that distant utopia, relentlessly. Lumaria was a brutally beautiful King atop an isolated throne. The people begin to fear him; ignorant to the fact he did what he had to in order to protect them. The greatest of Kings are always alone.
When the war had finally ended and his country became a sole super power, Lumaria had thought his ambitions were achieved. Though millions had died, millions more had been saved. To reach the end of that dream; he had done the best he could. It seemed even that was not enough for the people. They revolted, making claims that he was ruthless, that he was cruel; they asked “How could a King with no heart govern his people?” They did not understand that being heartless was what made a great King. They were too caught up in their sophistry. The people who had once loved him as a naïve, idealistic boy who could protect nothing, now abhorred him as a realistic King who could protect many. They could not understand him and he made no effort to be understood.
It was not a difficult revolt, for Lumaria, not wanting to see civil conflict, voluntarily surrendered himself to the rebel forces to quell the violence. Thus, it was so that on the dawn of the eleventh day since his capture; King Lumaria the Vicious, as he was now known, faced the guillotine. His head laid upon the podium before the guillotine, mere moments from death, and as he looked around at the vast crowd of people, he did something that he hadn’t since he was a child. Lumaria smiled. He had lived his life protecting others, even if it meant killing others. He had at least protected as many people as he could with his two hands. Surely, it was enough, he had fought for long enough….he was so very, very weary. Finally, he would see the end of the dream…
Or so he thought. It was sudden, barely the span of a second, just before the guillotine’s blade was unleashed. The skies darkened and from the darkness came an insurgent of black beings. They fell upon the unsuspecting people with zeal; it was a massacre like none other. Lumaria was stunned; he could only look as the people he fought so hard to protect faced a fate worse than death….What had he been fighting so hard for all this time? What had he done wrong? How could he have prevented this? Why was he so powerless? These were only some of the questions that swarmed him. This was not how things were supposed to be! It was not what he wanted to see at the end of his dream! He watched his dreams of utopia crumpled in despair; to the point the darkness swallowed even him.
The next thing Lumaria knew, he sat messily upon his wrecked throne amidst the ruins of his Kingdom. At his feet laid an array of pink and red flower petals, fallen and decrepit as he was. He was the King of this Wasteland, it would seem. It was ludicrous what had happened, yet Lumaria found he no longer felt the same despair. He felt…nothing. Empty as the ruins he reigned over. There was nothing left for him, nothing of what he had protected so desperately. He was nothing, everything was nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing…The dream’s end seemed further away than ever.
It was days before a strange man found Lumaria. He had an eye patch, dark hair pulled back and wore the most distinct black cloak. He seemed amused with Lumaria’s and his world’s state, perhaps he even mocked Lumaria’s situation a few times. Lumaria showed no signs of reciprocating; it was as if he had turned into a lifeless doll. Then, the odd man offered Lumaria a new purpose; a chance to redo his life. His interest perked and color seemed to return to his eyes. Perhaps even a nothing existence was better then his vegetable state, Lumaria thought. Yes, if only he could reach for his ambitions again…then perhaps he could still see what laid ahead, at the end of his dream in the distant Utopia… The petals began to stir again, he stood up and his name was rewritten; he was reborn as Marluxia, Organization member XI, the Graceful Assassin. He left the person known as ‘Lumaria’ behind upon that ruined throne, he needed only one name.
So it came to be that Marluxia joined Organization XIII, easily becoming the prodigal neophyte. He excelled despite his late inclusion; no mission was failed, no enemy shown quarter. He was a flawless assassin who was ruthless even among nobodies. He adopted an arrogant façade; for pride was something he always had yet never had the chance to express in the endless wars. Marluxia resolved himself to an ambition for greatness, what he wanted the most was to see the end of his dream; the end that was denied to him. To that end, he would recreate his empire. His path had not been wrong, his choices had not been wrong; he would pursue that dream of an ever-distant utopia. If he could have that end, he didn’t need a heart; a King shouldn’t have such a thing in the first place. He had left his behind a long time ago; like flowers on the grave of his enemies.
With his determination and talent, it was no wonder he was given dominion of Castle Oblivion. When Sora entered the scene, Marluxia saw it as an opportunity to advance his ambitions many steps forward. Organization XIII was only a stepping stone; it was not the greatness he envisioned. However, before his plans could come to fruition, he was stopped. Marluxia had underestimated the strength of the heart he had abandoned even as a human. He was defeated a second time, first by darkness and then by light. Marluxia barely survived his encounter with Sora, having procured an alternative program written into his Redux. Were he to fall in battle, he would portray an emulated death and in fact fall into a deep slumber in order to regain his loss strength; safely nested within the armour of his Redux. After his defeat, Sora, for reasons of his own, locked into the room in which they fought with his keyblade. This was why Marluxia’s slumber lasted for far longer then was necessary; locked within a room of stagnant eternity, there was no change and thus no incentive for him to awaken.
It was around the time that Roxas found Sora in his hibernation and the two merged that Marluxia was able to stir. He awakened into a different time and broke through the weakened lock that Sora forged. Deciding to go into hiding rather alert the others that he was still alive (Knowing what the fate of traitors was), Marluxia lived as a normal human florist in Hollow Bastion when Sora faced off against the rest of the Organization. By contacting the right people with ears in the right places for the right prices, Marluxia learnt of most of the events that lend to Xemnas’ defeat. However, Marluxia knew that such a man would not die so easily. But, while the Organization was in shambles, Marluxia took his chance to rise again from the ashes. For his ambitions, for himself, Marluxia sought the end of that dream again.
