A blinding light shined through the entrance of the caves. Of the home of the lions. The place where they slept at night. The sun had risen; day had come. Night had vanished. Usually the female lioness, the Queen would have woken up before everyone else yet she wasn’t. There had been so much on her mind the night before. Her mate, Simba had left for business outside of the Pride Lands. Nala inside was reluctant to let him go…otherwise she would miss him terribly. But, she let him go none the less. She knew Sora and the others needed his help, but why his? Out of all lions him!
Nala had been the last one to fall to sleep. She had become restless the entire night, but finally she had settled down. The consequence though would be that she would probably not awake before everyone else. As Queen of the Pride Lands she was supposed to wake up before everyone else. Here she was still asleep. The others woke up but did not wake her. They knew that their queen needed time to herself for awhile and that she needed sleep most of all.
Tears slid down her face. The small female cub was huddled beneath her mother for comfort. Sadness was spread across her face….
Nala seemed to be having a bad dream of the first time that Simba had left…the time that she had thought he was dead. She knew that as long as she lived that Simba would never leave her again. But, this dream she couldn’t help but get upset about.
’Simba…’The small female cub muttered as she laid there, tears sliding down her face. That day two of the most important lions to the Pride Lands had died, or so they thought…
The Queen of the Pride Lands moved in her sleep as she dreamed. As a bad dream began to awaken inside of her mind. She had even uttered Simba’s name as she laid there. No one was around to hear her though they had all gone out to see what the new day had brought them. Nala should have been doing the same. Her dream seemed to be more important at the moment though. But she wished to not see it. Not to dream it. Nala had put the past behind her. She had better things to look forward to. Her love for Simba. Her’s and Simba’s Pride Lands. Their family and all the other lions.
Scars face blurred in front of her… Their home had taken a turn for the worse as soon as he had taken the throne. He was now their new King. He was not fit to be a King though. It seemed all he wanted was power…
“No..no..” Nala muttered in her sleep. Images of Scar flashed before her. Those memories that seemed to haunt her somewhat. Especially knowing that she would never see Simba again. Her friend. Her future lover. Suddenly it all seemed like too much for her at that moment and she woke up with a fright. Her eyes were wide she almost screamed but held it back, knowing it was only a bad dream. She settled down again but before she could she had looked around and noticed everyone else was awake.
At that moment her memory of the night before had faltered and she had forgotten that Simba had left. She was eager to meet her mate outside. A smile brushed across her face as she slowly walked out of the cave. Placing one paw in front of the other. Her sky blue eyes squinting at the brightness of the sun but as soon as she had got outside her eyes readjusted to the sunlight.
Hoping to find her mate waiting for her on top of Pride Rock, Nala walked blinding onto Pride Rock. As soon as she could see clearly, she notice there was no lion waiting up there for her. It was empty. Her eyes grew saddened as she the events from last night came to her. She and Simba had argued a bit but Nala had let him go anyway. She knew Sora and the others needed his help. An empty spot ached in her heart as she remembered. As she looked at the empty spot upon Pride Rock.
Oh, Simba….
Nala thought to herself as she stood there. As Queen though she knew her place now. She wouldn’t let this get her down. She was much stronger then this. Her love would return soon she knew that. He would never leave her. For now she would wait for him to return and love him so much more when he did return to her. Her paws were placing in front of her as she walked towards the top of Pride Rock. Looking down upon it she knew what she needed to do. Yet, would she falter? No. She wouldn’t. She would stay strong. Her heart was strong. For Simba she would remain strong. For what they had. For everyone else. For the Pride Lands.
A roar escaped her as she stood there. Telling the others that their Queen was awake. That she would remain strong for them even though their King and her mate had left for a short while. Her roar echoed through the lands, waking everyone else awake if they hadn’t already woken up. Her roar seemed to fade, but it had been strong. Other roars were heard through out the Pride Lands as the others replied to Nala’s roar. Acknowledging their Queen.
Hope you hear this, Simba….where ever you are
They had all awoken to a new day…but one lion of all felt a small whole in her heart as her mate had left for awhile…
….she did not know how long. He had never said. She faced the day none the less, with her head held high.
