Okay, so I recently reinstalled Windows XP onto my hard drive, so I've spent the past day or so installing drivers and programs (It's almost habitual.... Live Messenger, uTorrent, Firefox, Thunderbird, AIM, WMP, Avira, WinRar...).
I started setting up Thunderbird and got it going with my Gmail account. No problem.
Then, I try to look around to get my Hotmail account in there too. After ten minutes of searching the Hotmail pages, I decide to Google it.
Yes, it is possible, the first page says. Gee, thanks.
Next page. Here's the list of every email provider you can think of (excluding custom and corporate domains) and their incoming and outgoing server listings.
Yep, Gmail has a listing. Yep, Yahoo has a listing. Even AOL has one. Guess which one doesn't? Hotmail.
But wait, didn't that other page say it was possible? Yeah, if you're a paid subscriber.
*head desk*
So, I obviously don't feel like paying for that. Whatever. I've always hated Microsoft, but I don't have the money (or desire) to buy a Mac, and I don't know enough to run Linux without screwing something up (I've done this twice.... Two bad hard drives with Ubuntu on them. One a bad boot sector, one has login/personality issues. Meh.). So I stick with Windows. A necessary evil.
Oh, that reminds me, I have to go steal a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Executive Suite. Take that, Bill Gates! Yes, I get back at "The Man" by pirating Microsoft software. *shrugs* They charge too much for it. (Although, it would appear that I also have a grudge against Adobe, Avira, and random PC game creators... But that's something completely different).
And as for Pandora... Gah. I set up a station a certain way, but every now and then a song sneaks in that no way in hell fits. Cindi Lauper does NOT belong in the same station as one that has Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Disturbed, Papa Roach, etc. Seriously.
But hey, it's free. I love free things. Or rather, I love things that I don't pay any money for ^-^.
Feeling much better after getting that out, I think I'm going to go to bed. I have to get up in 4 and a half hours. Now, I'm sure many of you have gotten by with less sleep than that for many nights in a row, but for a week or so, I've been getting eleven or twelve hours a night.
Tomorrow is going.... **The rest of today is going to SUCK. Thank goodness for Amp and The Glorious Coffee.
Hopefully I'll be able to go see The Dark Knight later today. Heard it was pretty good.
Meh.
