Audition post (400 words):
[ Player Note: Some liberties have been taken with Kuja's character in order to KH-ify him a little, but the true spirit of his character should remain unchanged. Also, the best time in the game to compare his personalities between there and here would be after he learns he is not immortal and goes insane, but much of his power-hungry, puppet-master and traitorous side from before that I have tried to preserve as well as a sort of culmination for the KH version I'm playing. Please keep that in mind, but trying to show off all of that in a single post would make him seem too all over the place... so keep that in mind too. Heh. ]
Explosions. Screams. Destruction. That was what filled the air around the white-haired Angel of Death as he strolled through the town. The monstrously large Heartless he'd drawn to this previously peaceful world with the darkness in his heart were terrorizing the citizens, and explosions from several glowing orbs of magical energy broke through their scared voices periodically as another building erupted in magical flames. he had not called or commanded the Heartless, they merely followed him because of his powerful dark heart. The instigator seemed unaffected by any of this physically, but emotionally the one named Kuja gave off a melancholic expression. he seemed to be expressing sadness at the suffering happening around him, or at least at something. The scantily-dressed male stopped at an alley and looked to his right, seeing several children hiding there and holding each other in fright. He smiled sadly and entered the narrow passage, leaning down at the innocent ones and speaking with a sincere voice.
"Do not worry children. It will be over soon," he assured them, patting one on the head. They could not answer through their tears, but the eldest boy there looked up with hope at the stranger. Kuja then stood again and proceeded to walk back out the alley and the child's eyes continued to follow him, waiting to see this would-be hero come to their rescue.
And explosion filled the alley and swept past both of th Angel of Death's sides as one of the white magical projectiles flew straight down onto the hiding place, killing the group instantly. Kuja closed his eyes and smiled, happy for them. They were very lucky children after all. They could not only die in innocence before life stole that form them, but now they would never have to experience a universe in which Kuja himself did not exist. A fate such as that would be far worse than any death that could befall them.
"It's not enough," the death-bringer said after a small sigh, his narrow eyes and almost grey-coloured irises rising upwards and opening to the view of the countless stars before him.
'The Heartless continue to follow me and interfere, forcing them to exist on as Heartless without me in their hearts, and the process is too slow. I will die of old age before I can save every world from having to go on without me. I need more.'
More power. There was only one answer to Kuja's problem: Kingdom Hearts. The heart of all. Of course the white-haired man was already working on acquiring that very goal, as shown by the giant red eye glowing high in the sky above amidst the smoke-clogged view. With every death, with every soul that separated from its body, the eye continued to gather them up. Disconnected form the body by death the heart still existed as bound to the soul, but their trip to the Underworld would be cut off. Kuja needed their power in order to save all of existence from their own unwanted fate: To go on without him.
Still, the magical being's progress was unsatisfying. If he was to succeed in achieving ultimate power and destroying all life he would need to do things a little more... indirectly. A villainous smile crept up th side of Kuja's lips as he formulated the basics of the plan. The worlds were filled with madmen bent on the death of others, either for mere sport, for greed, for war or any other such trifling things. He need only gather them together or perhaps join a group already made, or even just manipulate their paths in the right directions. More manpower and resources would serve his ends well. Of course, they would only be needed for the more difficult targets. Kuja still had some time, though not enough to waste. In most cases he could merely set the masses against one another and let them to all the work as he had done with this very world, showing up now only to wipe out the last remaining pockets of life here at the end of their brutal war.
"All I need are some fitting actors to fulfill their roles. The stage is already set and the curtain call is nigh. My play will not be delayed," the Angel of Death said with wicked calmness as the world burned to the ground around him, more blasts ringing through the thick air. Kuja's arms rose to the heavens towards the eye above, willing on its work. This being had no reservations about speaking when no one was there to listen, his beautiful voice was reason enough. Still, it would be easy enough. Visit a few Kingdoms, then sell them Gummi Ships and powerful weapons and teach them how to incite wars upon one another. The people will play their own part in his life story without him having to do it one world at a time, while the more difficult nations fell to his direct might. The monstrous man's smile turned into a toothy grin of malevolent intent. "I can't possibly keep my audience waiting."
The show must go on.
