Soul
I. "Where does your journey begin?"
My journey begins when I go blind after a long battle with a bounty head. I couldn't tell if the bounty head I was fighting was a woman or man, because he was wearing a black mask over his face, only showing his eyes, which were eerily hazel.
I'm not sure what he was after, but after I fought him, I never saw him again. However, at the end of the battle, he sliced straight across my eyes with a sharp, curved dagger. Today, it still leaves a scar that many people I meet, question.
II. "What is your goal to accomplish?"
My goal to accomplish is to find the bounty head that took my eyesight away and give him or her his just punishment. He took away a very precious thing, my sight was valued, even by others. I was always able to see farther than the rest, and now I cannot see at all because of that man or woman. I want to find him, and defeat him.
III. "What happens if your fail your goal?"
If I fail to find the bounty head, I will forever live with the regret that if someone else delivered his fate, I was not the one to do so. However, I might not never know if the bounty head lived or died by someone's hand, got caught, or died naturally. It will haunt my dreams forevermore.
IV. "What happens if you succeed in your goal?"
If I succeed in my goal, I will return home with the satisfaction that the bounty head was the last face he saw before I delivered his final blow, so that he would know who killed him. He will see the scar he left on my face, he will see the sorrow he placed upon me, he will see what he wrongly stole from me. He will see that the girl he injured when trying to steal whatever he was after, will be his murderer.
V. "What was one of the hardest decisions you had to make?"
I must say that when I was given the chance to continue educating myself in school or to move on and build a family life or do something I've always want to do, it was hard. I had a lot of friends in school, and I didn't want to give them up so easily. However, I knew I had to follow my dreams, so with a heavy heart, I left my school, and with blind eyes I set out for a fighting school with wielding a double-edged blade sightlessly. It was very hard, but to this day I do not regret doing so, because I was following my heart. And that's important.
VI. "What was the biggest change in your life?"
When I had to leave my hometown to go to a fighting school. I left friends and family behind, just to follow my dreams. Changes, many changes, began taking place rapidly, like a rocket speeding by with a full gauge. Slowly, I adjusted to these changes, but the big change, when I had to leave home, I did not adjust well to. To this very day, I'm still not used to being away from home, somewhat, because I was there all my life. But, I have tried my best, and that's all I can give.
VII. "What was the happiest time/moment in your life?"
Most definitely, my first kiss. It was a joyous moment, full of feeling and love. I still remember what it felt like on that day, in that moment. I felt swept up into it, swept off of my feet into a place where the angels lived, and paid a brief visit to the heavens. As quick as it was, it the best few seconds of my life.
VIII. "What was the most shocking moment in your life?"
Gee, I have no idea. There was a lot of shocking events. When I was at home, it was quite a shock to everyone when my mother died because a harpie (a mix between a bird and a human) grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her straight into a lion's den, where she was killed and devoured. There was no sign of her body, but there were many of her belongings strewn about the cave. My father killed the lions that dealt such destruction, but he couldn't save her, because she was already dead.
I was a teenager then, but a few months before that event, people were reported missing, possibly dead. The appearance of harpies, who lived in the mountains to the west, suddenly increased tenfold, and they began attacking people. My father went out to see the leader of the harpies, but he never came back. At the age of seventeen, I was orphaned. But by then, I was able to take good care of myself.
IX. "What was the darkest event in your life?"
The appearance of the harpies in my little town probably signaled the arrival of several dark events. After the harpies started attacking, some people starting going crazy. What was once a peaceful, murder-free little town, was turned into a chaotic ghost town. Thieves from all around began snooping about the town, stealing valuable heirlooms and many other small, but meaningful things.
And there were murderers roaming around the surrounding area, so it was no longer safe to leave the village. Some people also reported little black creatures with small, circular yellow eyes roaming around the area. One person said that one of them engulfed his friend, and a heart flew out of his body. It was foreign to many people. Some began to come up with theory that because the little black creatures were not part of their land, they were the reason the harpies went crazy and became extremely violent.
And that's when the bounty head came to my village. I think many people have failed to protect what was important to them. I was one of his many victims. He was wanted all over my world for many crimes, and after he took my eye sight, I swore to catch every bounty head I heard about.
X. "What angers you the most in your life?"
My uncle. Whenever he took care of me as a child, he did many things my parents would not do. And they would come home to find me snuggled up in the darkest corner of my room, hiding away from my uncle. I would be crying silently, so that he wouldn't hear me. My parents would often say that he is a nice uncle, (in their view, obviously, or they would not be saying so) but I kept saying that he was mean and selfish.
Eventually, after my parents died, I went to settle the score with him.
XI. "Where does your strength or determination come from?"
I want my sight back. If there's any way to get it back, I'll do so. I'll do anything to get it back. Being reminded that the bounty head stole my sight, I am always filled with renewed strength. And being a bounty hunter felt right. It was like it was what I'm meant to do with my life; hunting down criminals and capturing them, bringing them in for the small reward given for my work.
And I'd find this bounty hunter, no matter how long it took.
XII. "Who or what inspires you to succeed?"
Nobody inspires me to succeed. What I see around me, all the murder, all the stolen objects, all the sorrow caused by criminals is inspiration enough. It reminds me of what happened to me back at home, and therefore, I cannot let the news of crimes go lightly. It sticks to my brain and doesn't go away until whoever did it gets caught, by me or some other bounty hunter.
Being blind doesn't make things easier, but it sure gives me judgment of what I should and should not do in the future. It's a sort of guidance.
XIII. "Where does your story end?"
My story ends when I finally catch the bounty hunter that caused my blindness, and I have no idea how long or how short of a time that will be. I only know that it might not even happen. Someone else might catch him, and I might not ever know that that person caught him, possibly killed him, and I wouldn't get informed in on anything.
I don't even know if he'll get caught, by me or anyone else. The way he fought was well done, and I'm sure I've never seen a style quite like his. It seemed well-developed, by some person who knew almost every sort of fighting style there is. But, to reassure myself, I always keep this in mind: 'Even the greatest fighter can fall to a skilled challenger'.
General History
Maeve's history is rather original, standing out from everyone else's. As a small child, her parents would go to the market and leave her alone with her uncle, which she didn't like at all. He was the only man she knew of that would do such cruel things to a child. He would beat her when she didn't do things right, and he would yell at her if she even talked to a boy.
So, to escape him, she would lock herself in her room and shrink down in the darkest corner of her room, so he wouldn't find her. And he never did, he only assumed that she was safe somewhere inside the house.
When her parents would arrive, and after her uncle left to his own home, they'd always find her in her room, in a corner, as if hiding from someone or something. She tried to tell them that he hated her, that he didn't want to take care of her and once, even threatened to kill her, but they would not listen. Who would listen to a child of that age?
So, they attempted to assure her he was a caring uncle, but she never listened. When she was alone with him, he showed his true colors. He hated children with a passion. But around her parents, he really was a nice person. Maybe it was because he didn't have to take care of her. Maybe it was because he liked her parents more than her, and respected the fact that they had a child. Whatever the reason was, she thought that he hated her, and she always did.
But as she grew, she was allowed to stay home alone, and she was satisfied with that. It was much better than being with her uncle. She went to school and received an education, and made many friends.
It was rather sudden when the harpies, living in the Lyres Mountains, starting going about below their home in great numbers. Usually, it was amazing when one spots a harpie flying over their heads, and unless in groups of three or more, they never attacked. And they were mostly seen alone.
But it was most unfortunate, because Maeve's mother, Iawoann, was one of the first victims of the harpies. It confused many when a harpie was seen alone, attacking Iawoann in a most violent manner. She was tossed by the harpie into a nearby lion's den, and wasn't seen again. There was no remains except for her belongings, so she was reported dead.
Maeve was heartbroken.
And according to many others, people went missing over the past couple of days. Maybe dead, maybe alive. But more than likely, dead. Thieves began appearing, stealing items of heartfelt value. Murderers also snooped about the surrounding area, so it was no longer safe to leave the village. Some people were scared that the murderers would move further than the border of the town and the wild areas.
Maeve's father, Talursolr, went out to Lyres Mountains to speak with the harpie leader about the sudden violence, but he never returned. Having lost both her parents at the same time, she became depressed. She was seventeen, old enough to fend for herself, but she had loved her parents very much.
Her friends attempted to cheer her up, but not many things worked, and things that did, didn't work for long. It seemed like she'd never get over her grief. They thought up many things that they knew she loved, but she no longer cared much for the objects and activities that usually did the trick. But, she kept going to school and learned, because she knew that's what her parents would have wanted.
Then that criminal came. A thief in broad daylight! He came to Maeve's school, raided it, and even injured some children in his search for whatever he wanted in the small school.
Maeve was unfortunate enough to be one of the injured ones. She grabbed his arm, trying to lead him out of the school so he wouldn't injure anymore students, but she punched her to the ground. Drawing a weapon of her won she always carried around for self defense, she fought with him. But he was extremely skilled, and took her down without a moment's notice. Cruel as he was, to leave a scar to remind her always of him, he sliced across her eyes, blinding her for a lifetime.
He escaped, without what he was turning the school upside down for. Many determined he would be back, because he hadn't retrieved the object. But what could he possibly have been looking for? This was the worst of the events, but it was only a prelude of things to come.
Maeve could no longer educate herself her. She was at the crossroads of life, deciding either to leave for a blind school or to stay in her small village with her friends and her remaining family. She decided to leave, because she could no longer live here without help. So, taking her belongings, she set out. For a fighting school for the blind. She wanted to wield a double-edged sword.
Before she left, she visited her uncle, to settle the score between them. She hated him so much for what he did to her as a child. But she never did, because she was blind, and her accuracy was reduced dramatically. Her uncle beat her senseless, and sent her off to leave the village. After recovering from her fight with him, she did so, never intending to see the man again.
No one saw her in her home town again, so they weren't sure if the harpies mercilessly killed her. But finally, when she found the fighting school, she wrote to her village, indicating that she was very much alive. They were surprised. No one made it that far since the harpies began getting violent.
So she trained, writing every once in awhile to let them know she was fine. She became professional, and was soon able to take down the teacher with ease. Being a pro in the double-edged sword, she decided to become a bounty hunter, simply because of what that criminal did to her some time ago. She wasn't in it for the reward. She simply wanted to catch the man or woman who blinded her. She didn't want to see anyone else become like her.
So, saying good-bye to her fighting school classmates, she became a traveling bounty hunter, growing and growing with every battle she fought. Traveling from world to world to world, she looked everywhere for wanted criminals. Occasionally, she'd hear of little black creatures, now known to her as 'Heartless'. The creatures that infested her world were Heartless. As she traveled, she grew knowledgeable about the darkness and Kingdom Hearts. When she started, she knew absolutely nothing.
She never traveled with anyone, because she thought they only served to hinder her. Occasionally, she would take someone, but only to be charitable. She was taught to be, but she always got annoyed with the people she was with. It was hard to get along with her.
But people didn't know her story.
Body
Name: Maeve Zenevieva
Appearance:
Maeve
Maeve has a beautiful shade of green eyes, now blinded. She has brown-ish red short hair, not even reaching her shoulders. A scar runs across her left and right eyes. Her nose is straight and her lips are round, but not thick. She has a brown, dress-like vest going over her white clothing, and long brown boots with short heels on them. She has a small, but convenient little pouch on her belt for munny and other small object, and a strap on it as well for her double-edged sword.
Personality:
Maeve is kind of mean when it comes to traveling with someone. It's hard to get along with her unless you are extremely patient. Occasionally, she will be quiet and not say anything, but it's only because she thinking deeply about something. Sometimes, if you anger her enough, she could become dangerous, hinting that you should buzz off or you'll have no teeth left by the time she gets done with you.
If she's nice to you, it's either because she wants something or she wants to make good first impressions. However, her calm serenity will not last, because she has a short temper. She often makes lots of enemies due to her temper. If someone asks too many questions, she will lash out at them. One or two questions she will answer freely, but if there is more than four she will begin to get irritated. She hates curious people, because she does not like to share her story with anyone.
She hates sharing her story because it's painful, and she thinks it has nothing to do with anyone. She'd deal with it herself. She likes to work alone, not having to worry about anyone else.
If she develops a liking to the person, which is a slim chance, she will act normally, but occasionally with become uncomfortable around the person she likes. One could tell she is uncomfy because she will frown a lot.
If she is happy, she will not smile, but only will smirk smugly. If she is sad, her temper will become ever worse, and she will yell at everyone, even those she likes. Is someone else has a temper as well, they will most likely be the worst of enemies.
Weapon:
Blood Knife
A dual-bladed sword, this is the sword she took with her when she left her fighting school. A powerful sword, and a prize for being first in the class, it has a black hilt holding the two sharp, uniquely shaped blades together.
Armor:
(See appearance).
Accessory:
Maeve wears a teardrop necklace. It helps her catch the criminals, by using the room temperature. If the room is cold, it lets off a beam of heat straight toward the criminal. If it is hot or warm, it lets off a beam of cool air toward the criminal. If the room is hot and cold, in other words hot or cold won't affect her sense of direction toward the criminal, it lets off a sort of gas in one direction, a sort of line. It blocks out other smells, and goes toward the criminal. While not being the best smell in the world, it certainly helps.
Heart
Affiliation: Unaffiliated.
World:
Nine Crosses Country: Maeve lived in a small portion of this large world. Her village was called Silver Ring. Silver Ring Village. Small but quaint, it's a farming village. Surrounding it is a small wood, known as Sigil Wood. Beyond that is a large field, probably leading to other worlds if you go far enough. To the west of Silver Ring Village, there is the Lyres Mountains where the harpies live. A specific pathway to the harpie dwelling was made to direct a traveler on his way.
The pathway splits two ways. From Silver Ring Village, it goes straight to a two-way junction, either to the Lyres Mountains or to other worlds. Many don't dare to take this path. There is a sign at the junction, reading: "Up ahead: Lyres Mountains. Right path: Other Worlds"
Whoever took the right path had obviously come back to place this sign, or no one would know that it goes to other worlds.
Race: Sayess: A type of human, only with an increased ability to jump higher and run faster than most races.
"Which form will you choose?"
A) Power of the Warrior.
I choose this power because to defeat the bounty hunter, I will need great power and therefore, I must train hard. This is my choice.
"What do you want outta life?"
A) To see rare sights.
I wish to see rare sights, because I am blind. I want to see again. I want to see the beauty of the worlds, the area surrounding me. This is my choice.
"What are you so afraid of?"
A) Getting old.
I'm afraid of getting old. Not because of my appearance, but because by the time I am old, I might not have caught the bounty hunter yet. This is my choice.
"What's most important to you?"
A) Being number one.
Being number one is always most important to me. Not friendship or valuable belongings are important to me, for they mean nothing. Friends back-stab and perform many cruel things. True friends don't do that, but it's hard to find someone who will not do so, these days. Being number one is important because if I'm not, I might not learn powerful attacks or earn a new weapon that might be useful in catching the bounty hunter. This is my choice.
Abilities:
1) Black Blade: Her dual-bladed sword turns black, and begins to take a mind of it's own. With Maeve standing by, the sword slashes at her enemy skillfully, as if some invisible grand swordsman was wielding it. Her blade's mind lasts for four posts while Maeve can come out with different attacks. The cool-down is ten posts.
2) Tunneling Coil: Maeve pierces one of the blades in the ground, and something tunnels under it, creating small bumps as it speeds toward the enemy. A long vine with thorns on it erupts out of the ground under her enemy's feet, coiling around his ankles and attempting to drag him into the depths of the earth. If it successfully coils around her opponent's ankles, the thorns will pierce them and they will hardly be able to walk, leaving them open to certain attack. If unsuccessful, the vine will sink back into the ground, remaining there until Maeve draws her sword from the ground. If the person is dragged down into the earth, the hole will close and they will be spit back out onto the ground through a different hole, which could open anywhere. The cool-down is five posts.
3) Winged Chaos: Her sword propels itself in the air flat, and begins spinning like a top. While this is going, blasts of chaotic energy shoots from both blades, about every two seconds. This lasts for three posts, and then the sword drops to the ground, drained of it's energy. The cool-down is five posts.
Special Abilities: (Abilities that do not count toward your maximum total amount of Abilities. This section is only to be touched by staff.)
Summons: (Summons you own/bought. This section is only to be touched by staff.)
Items: [Items you have bought/earned. This section is only to be touched by staff.)
Other
Maeve is tall, being taller than some men. She's 6'2". While this can be a disadvantage at times, reaching high ledges becomes easier.
Her phobias are many. She's afraid of snakes, mainly, because some can poisonous. She's also scared of water, because she can't swim (Alantica would be a bad world for her). Bugs don't bother her, but mosquitoes in particular scare her, because they carry diseases.
On her world, there is one thing she is fairly afraid of. There is a uniquely bred type of dog, violent and mean, but it can easily kill a human adult who cannot fight. If standing, it can tower over her. A big, strong animal, called Boelli. There aren't many of these animals on her world, but if encountered, one should flee immediately. Everyone on her world is scared of these animals, so it comes as no surprise that she is as well.

Other
Maeve is tall, being taller than some men.
