II. Dive to the Heart
Soul
I. "Where does your journey begin?"
My journey began long ago when I was a boy.....I was given my first paintbrush at the age of five and soon found that I was extremely skilled as an artist, as time grew on so did my passion for art and my dwindling amount of friends grew ever smaller. A few stuck with me sure but most just left me behind...but I still continued to paint and that is where my story began.
II. "What is your goal to accomplish?"
A goal? My goal has almost always been the same. To find and paint the most fantastic sites in all the world and to further my artistic skills to a point beyond any others. It's always been my dream to travel the world for new subjects to paint and now it's so fantastic to finally be able to accomplish that dream.
III. "What happens if your fail your goal?"
Fail? That is something I wouldn't accept. My dream is something I would never give up on even if it should mean my death, my passion for art is so great that I would never give up on painting and traveling even should I be hunted down for it. Failure, is not an option for me.
IV. "What happens if you succeed in your goal?"
To succeed in my goal I'm sure is something that I can't do. There will always be new sights and subjects to paint and thus my goal will never be accomplished but I will still paint and travel and that is enough of a success for me.
V. "What was one of the hardest decisions you had to make?"
Probably the hardest decision I had to make was leaving my own home when I was a boy, leaving behind my town, my friends and the very place I'd grown up for years to further my passion for painting. But it was a necessary decision in order to go on with my goals so I no longer regret it.
VI. "What was the biggest change in your life?"
The biggest change in my life was adapting to the constant movement and traveling of searching the world for new subjects to paint, never resting in one place longer than needed to make a painting before moving on to a new town to find a new focus for my art. And still I do this to this very day.
VII. "What was the happiest time/moment in your life?"
The happiest moment? Probably the first time I was ever given a paintbrush. I couldn't explain what utter joy I had as I painted my first few pictures on canvas, I was elated beyond words as I dipped the brush to my easel and spread the color across that plaster surface. That was no doubt the happiest moment of my life.
VIII. "What was the most shocking moment in your life?"
The most shocking moment I ever had.....now this one I have no doubt on.....this is the perfect explanation of when I found my current paint brush and easel. I picked them up from a wandering Nu Mou trader as I was traveling the world about the time I was nineteen. He gave them to me for a reasonable price and laughed as he rode away with his cart yelling back, "There's more to that brush then meets the eye young man." Come to find out that brush was magical. And now I have more then a tool for painting. I can use my very art as a weapon.
IX. "What was the darkest event in your life?"
The darkest event in my life was...when I got word from a crier in a small town that my home village was destroyed. Robbed and looted by bandits then every person killed before it was burned to the ground. By the time he told me he said that it was probably nothing but smoldering ashes and dust by now. It hit me so hard that I went to a nearby dark forest and began to paint what I saw there for a few days to release my sadness before moving on.
X. "What angers you the most in your life?"
The thing that angers me most in my life are those that would deface, mock, scorn or otherwise shun art of any kind and makes me simply repulsive of any such person. Art is my life and anyone who thinks that art is nothing more then pictures on paper or colors on a canvas lacks the eye to see that art is the window to the persons soul that made it.
XI. "Where does your strength or determination come from?"
My strength comes from my inspiration to continue pursuing my goals and from my paintbrush itself while my determination comes from my passion to paint, to search, to switch my focus from obscure to clear as I roam the lands in search of the best specimens of architecture, people, and even some simple objects like those found in nature such as the trees and plains. Wherever art sleeps waiting to be painted I will search it out.
XII. "Who or what inspires you to succeed?"
My inspiration comes from the greatest artists of my land in hopes that some day I can be a better painter then them all. Also the fact that I become inspired to paint through nature, architecture and even the very people I see roaming the streets of the towns I visit. As long as I find new things to paint I will always be inspired to paint I'm sure of it.
XIII. "Where does your story end?"
So long as there is something new to paint my story will never end, I will forever seek out the greatest sites possibly even expanding my search to other worlds soon so that I may broaden my horizons and paint things people in my world have never even seen or heard of. That is possibly why my goal is so bright, my inspiration keeps me ever searching for that next piece of art and nothing can ever come between me and my art of that much I am sure, whether faced with death or harm I will never cease to continue my art.
General History
Back in the town of Grenshalt around 18 years ago a small boy with a great eye for art was given a paint brush, an easel and a plaster canvas. As he stroked the brush upon the canvas for the first time a great artist was born. His skills continued to grow through the years but the list of friends he had steadily dropped as they left him behind, calling him too obsessed with his paintings but still he persisted with what little friends he had until one day when he was fifteen he saw a painting from a great artist of a scene of flowers and meadows outstretched for miles on display at a local shop. He had painted it just distantly off in his world and he made up his mind then and there to set out to travel the world for new subjects to paint. So he packed up his things and that very week set of to begin his travel of the world.
He had traveled far and traveled long never resting in one place for too long before he rested in a small village for the night but when the morning came he was awakened by the shouts of a grayer who yelled that Grenshalt had been destroyed, looted and pillaged by thieves, everyone killed and the entire village burnt to the ground, that by now there would be nothing left but smoldering ashes and the ruins of a formerly beautiful little town. He was so struck by this that he painted what he saw in a nearby dark wood for a few days until he moved on again.
It was about this time that he was traveling a main dirt road that a wagon filled with goods pulled up beside him.. He looked over and saw that it was filled to the brim with trading wares and it was being pulled by two old Brown horses as the wagon stopped and out from the front popped the head of an old Nu Mou. He greeted Upsilon and asked whatever he would be doing traveling by himself in a place like this. Upsilon explained he was on a quest for art and the Nu Mou ducked into his wagon before coming back out with an old ornately decorated silver easel with paints in each slot along with a silver handled paintbrush and offered it to him at a reasonable price which he took but while the Nu Mou was driving away Upsilon noticed he was laughing maniacally. Then he turned around with just the side of his face, a face which Upsilon still remembers with it's purple hat on top.....those silver and white stars. And the Nu Mou yelled back to him, "There's more to that brush then meets the eye young man." Before riding off into the distance with his cart.
Upsilon soon realized what he had meant and saw that his paint brush and easel had several magical properties that were amazingly good for both art and fighting giving him not only a tool for painting but the ability to use his own art as a weapon. Perhaps the greatest weapon he could have ever obtained and it could disappear and appear at his hands at will along with the paints of the easel never running out and his ability to make canvases out of magic that could be used to preform attacks though all his actual painting canvases he bought or made himself as these would disperse into magic after he ran out of energy and he needed real canvases still to paint on while these proved to be helpful only for attacks.
He is now twenty three and hoping to further his artistic ability even more by going to other worlds to draw things that artists and people from his own world had never even seen before. He now searches for a way to new lands to become better then any artist in his own world and to find new inspiration to his paintings in architecture, people and nature itself.
Body
Name: Upsilon Inaba A.K.A The Deadly Artist
Appearance: Upsilon is a tall boy of about six feet and three inches with a fairly muscled build but still relatively thin body features. His jet black hair clashes drastically with his ice blue eyes and he is actually quite charming looking. He wears a red beret with a lighter red suit made of a long sleeved shirt, pants and shoes and over all of this he wears a red painters schmuck of the same color as his beret. He has no real distinguishing facial features besides his hair and eyes but he does have a handsome face none the less and usually wears a cheerful smile.
Personality: Usually Upsilon is a calm and planning young boy with a kind demeanor about him. Helpful to those he meets he prefers not to make friends as he never stays in one place for long and he prefers not to make many ties but his personality can vary a bit even going to the extreme opposite as an awfully brutal fighter in times of battle. He is actually even quite the charmer for not wanting to keep many ties. He is really much more social then he was as a boy though he tends to keep to his art more still. In battle he prefers to plan and wait for the right moment to strike then rush into battle and because of his not being a very straight forward warrior he never trained to fight physically but prefers instead to attack using his usual weapons, his magic paint brush and easel, usually from a distance but eventually moving in close for some techniques. He is also quite fast because of this because he trained his speed and magic instead of his physical power.
Weapon: Magic Silver Easel and Paint Brush (Allows him to paint much quicker then usual as well with his painted attacks.(Does not apply to regular painting only painted attacks.)).
Armor: Nothing
Accessory: Red Painter Schmuck, Red Beret (No effect)
Heart
Affiliation: Unaffiliated
World: The world Upsilon comes from is for the most part a normal world of villages and meadows, a few forests and places of great cities where great architecture is shown but for the most part it is like any other world. A few large seas also dot it's landscape but no other interesting facts abound in it, even the scenery is normal, flowers, grass, trees, wild life, architecture, people, and seas make up most of the scenery and is what Upsilon has painted mostly. The world itself is called Grenschven Vale.
Race: Human
"Which form will you choose?"
(Pick the one that best fits your character and explain your choice.)
B) Power of the Mystic.
Due to Upsilons never rushing into things and small physical build he prefers to use magic in place of physical attacks. Thus the power of the mystic would suit him best as he practices his magic more then his other skills besides speed which he practices almost equally.
"What do you want outta life?"
(Pick the one that best fits your character and explain your choice.)
A) To see rare sights.
Upsilons goal is too travel the worlds in search of new subjects to paint and thusly seeing rare sights would be the ideal choice of what he wants out of life due to the fact that painting rare things has always been one of his passions in art. Being his goal the choice is really quite obvious and he currently looks for ways to travel to other worlds to see their beauty as well for inspiration.
"What are you so afraid of?"
(Pick the one that best fits your character and explain your choice.)
C) Being indecisive.
The one thing that would frighten Upsilon the most is being indecisive in his search of new subjects for art and this is also a reason he never wants to keep ties in any place being afraid of wishing to stay there for a while before moving on to find new sights and inspiration for his art. He also fears this in battle as he keeps completely focused on the task at hand to defeat his opponents with planned attacks and speedy fighting.
"What's most important to you?"
(Pick the one that best fits your character and explain your choice.)
A) Being number one.
It wouldn't seem like it at first but truly Upsilon's real goals are focused on being the best painter ever making this really an obvious choice when you get to know how he feels about painting things. He wants to paint things from other worlds to show his prowess in his own world to show that he's a great artist and show that his talent is truly more then anyone else has. He's moved from place to place for so long painting and truly he has shown that his skill is growing significantly and he still wishes to increase it.
Abilities:
Through The Looking-glass- By using his magic easel and brush he can paint a black circle in mid air or on a solid surface about five feet high and five feet in diameter that he then fills in with black with one quick swipe. He can then step through the hole and make it close before reopening it elsewhere allowing him to appear near his opponent with ease. However he can't use this technique to teleport over more then fifty feet in a radius away. After the technique is used the portal closes again and disappears. He can also use an adaption of it he has found to travel to other worlds with a great amount of his energy, one of these worlds his own personal art gallery were he stores his paintings. Cooldown 1 post.
Fine Details- Using his ability to make canvases of magic Upsilon paints pictures of birds or small animals upon the easel, their size only limited by the size of the canvas and the amount of energy Upsilon has left. The easel is then thrown at his opponent and it turns into whatever animal or animals he painted on it. They can be used for a variety of reasons including spying by being able to see what his creatures see via paintings of what they see appearing on canvases in front of him when he commands them too.
If destroyed by command of Upsilon or by the opponent they make a small burst, that makes them disperse and turn back into paint in a scattering pattern. If that paint gets on the opponent their energy is slowly drained away back to Upsilon and the brush very slightly becoming noticeable only after a long time but the effect increases with the amount of paint that gets on the opponent and the energy is continually drained away until they either have no energy left in which case the paint evaporates or if the wipe it off. The paint also evaporates if Upsilon himself is defeated.
Still Life- By passing his brush over any part of the opponents body and leaving a streak of paint across it Upsilon is able to completely paralyze that part of the body until the paint evaporates (1 post). 1 Post Cooldown. If Upsilon can make a mark on their chest their entire body is paralyzed.
