Audition post (400 words):
Kingdom Hearts. Their last chance.... His last chance.... Thoughts clouded Xaldin's mind. Thoughts of being whole. Thoughts of feeling emotions. Xaldin could still remember the feeling of passion. To love and be loved. He also remembered anger. But most of all...he remembered apathy. That was one that Xaldin used a lot nowadays. You could hear it in his voice. You could see it in his face. No matter what, he would always remember the feeling of just not caring....
"Xaldin! Are you listening?"
Xaldin's head snapped up. "Of course, Superior...." he said in an emotionless tone.
Xemnas looked at Xaldin strangely. "There are times," he said, "when I wonder where you are in this plan...."
"I'm right next to you and the rest of the Organization, Superior.... You know that...."
"Mmm...I wonder," Xemnas countered. Xaldin's hands gripped into a fist at this remark. Xaldin had always been loyal! How could Xemnas say something like that? Xemnas then continued with the monologuing.... The dreaded monologuing....
He looked at his silver-haired master as his head bobbed up and down and his mouth moved. No words came out. At least none that Xaldin particularly cared about. Xaldin knew the plan. In order to unlock Kingdom Hearts they need a heart full of passion. They also need that heart's Nobody in order to defeat Sora when the time comes. Why Xemnas continued to monologue about this was beyond Xaldin.
"And I am sure you know how important this is to-"
"Stop...." Xaldin muttered. Xemnas just continued to talk. Xaldin couldn't take it anymore. Did he think that he was a child? "I said stop! I know the plan, Superior! I will not fail." Xemnas simply smiled. Xaldin continued to stare at Xemnas as if he was staring at nothing. He spun around and walked away.
Xaldin held no respect for the Nobody that Xemnas has become. Xemnas was once a Nobody of revolutionary ideas and morals. A Nobody simply searching for a heart. Now this...tyrant has resorted to murder. Murder is always allowable if it is justifiable. That is what Xaldin had always believed. Now Xemnas is sending the organization out to take innocent hearts. There was an abundance of Heartless in the universe. Why the organization couldn't use those was beyond him. Xaldin knows what it is like to not have a heart...to let others feel his pain is nothing but tyranny.
Xaldin was now on a one track mind: to regain his heart and then leave this Organization. Xaldin had been nothing but loyal to Xemnas. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as he left the castle. His portal opened up and he stepped within. He felt Xemnas's eyes burning into the back of his head. Xaldin's emotionless eyes stared into the darkness as he was taken away to Beast's Castle, and to, what Xaldin felt, was his final mission.
For once, Xaldin had felt almost as if he had emotion. One simple emotion: Determination.... But you couldn't tell by his eyes....
((I realize this was a stretch. But Xaldin isn't explored much. So I really wanted to do something different with this audition. Enjoy! It took me all day. haha))
