If a goddess falls and no one is around to hear it, does she make a sound?
The answer to this question would be what the people of Rainbow Sash
Islands would come to find out. They were, at one time, a peaceful set of
islands with amiable people who knew well to worship their goddess, the
ones who kept them safe. Of course, these people were not the sort who
would worship an idol blindly. After one too many offerings where this so
called "goddess" would never show up, they began to wonder: was all of
this blind worship worth the trouble? Their answer was so. And so, they
began to live their lives thinking that there had to be no goddess after all.
Of course, they were wrong.
There was a goddess. In fact, goddess, in the plural form, and with these
cease in worship, these goddess all died off. And with the death of these
goddesses, the islands began to die off. Who could help them? Save all
of them from their eternal sleep? One man could. A man who started it all.
The man who made the islands, the people, life itself. And as help was
called out to this enigmatic man, it was found that help was called out too
late. For the last remaining goddess, mad with power, sick with the cease
of worship, went wild, making sure to destroy the islands completly and
totally, so that never again, could these islands be bountiful and flourish
like they once were. For a while, it seemed like hope was totally lost.
This goddess fell, and she did indeed, make a sound, and made sure
that she would not be forgotten with her wrath. No more is she called a
goddess, but a sea witch, which is appropriate, for she lurks in the seas,
stirring up storms, watching all of the boats who dare think it safe to sail.
But hope is not lost. For there are good people in this world, and with good
people come good workers, and good hearts and souls. Can the past be
erased, and can the islands be fixed? All it takes is a little elbow grease
and dedication! Who knows what's possible when you taste the rainbow?
