All was silent today in the coliseum where numerous champions and heroes alike gathered. Today had been yet another Olympus Coliseum Cup match that would bring some of the strongest men and women together to give it their all in order to reach the top prize of Olympian champion. But this event today had ended quickly before it even begun. As the final sword was sheathed, it was the One Winged Monster Genesis Rhapsodos who emerged victorious over all. He stood there looking over at the precious piece of metal that these people had desired to obtain and lost their lives for it, and could only to look away in disappointment. Not over what a complete tragedy of what happened to the fallen men who would now spend the rest of their days in Hades, but the sheer lack of challenge in the arena.
He had been told hat the greatest warriors from around the universe competed in this arena and yet he felt as though he had just slaughtered mere children. This was definetly something a monster like him would do but for some reason he felt a bit distasteful about the whole thing.
There was one other reason he was here but it seemed even that turned out to be one big disappointment. He had heard rumors and whispers that a silver haired swordsman had competed here before and was practically undefeated. He suspected that it was none other than Sephiroth and he journeyed to this world to seek him out, but he found no one even remotely close.
Having no desire to continue looking Genesis walked over to where the trophy was and claim his 'prize'.

Genesis Rhapsodos had just overcome a great battle against many rounds of foes in the legendary Olympus Coliseum. Heartless, mythical beasts and fellow heroes alike were all defeated or slain. Despite the champion's own dissatisfaction with it all the crowd cheered in his victory regardless. The coliseum's healing magic relieved all of its newest champion's wounds and exhaustion as he prepare to make a "triumphant" walk to the trophy pedestal.
But something was wrong.
The coliseum's barriers suddenly appeared, boxing the red-clad swordsman into the ring. In the sky dark clouds began to form, bringing shade to the arena. A flash of blue and white light filled the sky in a circular pattern as if some magical image was being formed. Like lightning it suddenly descended, crashing down into the stone square with a loud clatter. Emerging from the fading sparks was a youthful man in a black body suit, shoulder-length silver hair hanging from his head. The teenager slowly stood, his green eyes peering over at Genesis with the look of a spoiled child about to win his favourite game. The stranger spoke no words but a sword with two parallel blades extending from the hilt appeared in his left hand and was raised until pointing toward the One-Winged Monster.
It seemed someone resembling the description that had drawn Genesis here had actually appeared... but outside the crowd was filled with nothing but cries of questioning and mystery. Not a one recognized this sudden challenger as the legend of the Coliseum that Sephiroth was, though some commented on the similarity in whispers inaudible to the two swordsmen now locked within the battlefield. What exactly did that make this mysterious youth?
Whoever he was, it seemed challenging the new champion was his wordless intent.

Whoever this newcomer was one thing Genesis was certain of was he was no Sephiroth. But he could sense him radiating from this young man as though he were looking at the real thing. Even his scent was exactly like that of the One Winged Angel. But Genesis felt as though he was just facing some sort of Sephiroth clone. Perhaps he was though after all, Genesis wasn't the only one who was known to do that technique.
It really didn't matter if this wasn't Sephiroth and just some copy of him or whatever, it was apparent that the young boy was challenging Genesis to a fight. Unlike the other challengers Genesis could feel a great amount of strength radiating from the boy. It was almost as strong as Sephiroths was the last time he saw him. Perhaps this boy would prove to be a more entertaining opponent. And although he wouldn't admit it, he felt as though fighting him would almost be like fighting the real Sephiroth.
The One Winged Monster glanced at Kadaj's dual sword and chuckled.
"Don't you know that you have to introduce yourself to your opponent before fighting him in a one on one match?"
Genesis drew his sword and began to engulf the blade in crimson red energy. Once the blade was completely covered, Genesis walked over to the middle of the ring and prepared himself for battle.
"But I suppose we can skip the introductions for today don't you think so?''

The youth's mouth curled upwards on the left side, the half of his face not partially hidden by his dull silver bangs. In unison the swordsman's green eyes narrowed, an overall expression of amusement. What did he think of Genesis? Why was he really here? If he was connected to Sephiroth, did he know of the One Winged Monster's connection as well?
Perhaps a story for another time.
The black leather-wearing fighter jumped forward with impressive height and grace by human standards, his previously forward left arm now swinging back behind him and his two-bladed sword flipping around in his hand to a reverse grip. The leap was clearly controlled, allowing him to close the relative distance between himself an Genesis with a single bound with the smallest possible arc and thus least amount of wasted time. The strange smirk on his face was gone, but the giddy-like smile that replaced it made him seem no less the teenager that he appeared.
As the bound ended with his landing an arm's length and melee weapon's distance before the SOLDIER's position the swordsman's left hand would whip back out in a wide horizontal slash in front of himself, the reverse grip of his Souba bearing the edged side froward.

The young man wasted no time as Genesis expected and dashed forward. Kadaj went in for a simple forward attack so Genesis decided to not worry about dodging or anything like that. Instead he took one step forward to get his ground and waited for him. Once Kadaj was at striking distance Genesis had more than enough room to easily stab the young man right in his neck before his swing would even reach him without even reaching that far forward. His rapier was an exceptionally long one almost similar in size with Sephiroths sword so it wouldn't have been that hard to end the fight right there.
But for some reason he was feeling generous at the moment and chose a different path. One would guess that he wanted to have a bit of fun first before getting serious. So as Kadaj swung his sword in a horizontal motion Genesis brought his rapier up block the strike but put in extra force in order to parry the attack, then swung right back down all in one delicate motion.

Genesis parried the slash of the Souba with an upwards motion. A fairly standard and effective bit of swordplay. His opponent's however had been anything but standard, in fact seeming to be highly ineffective. The challenger's arm was further ahead than it normally would have been if a normal stroke had been parried in a similar manner and so it wasn't moved back as far as a result. For another, using sword-handling skill that clearly went beyond human standards, the parried weapon utilized the force of Genesis' own stroke to be spun around and rotated over the top of the teenager's fingers, having turned 180 degrees and flipped a half-circle in time to get in the way of the downward half of Rhapsodos' strike. In fact, it was practically in its way the entire time given the circumstances.
The blades collided, though the smaller-bodied stranger managed to hold his ground surprisingly well. It was enough for him to prepare his stance accordingly to offer the maximum amount of strength to his frame and adjust to the amount and direction of the enemy's push as they did so.

The two, or rather three blades collided with each other and Kadaj was now on the defensive side. Genesis took this opportunity to continue his attack by pressing his blade forward with more force. The pressure from him would have Kadaj preoccupied for a very brief moment. Genesis now had a split second to continue before it was too late. Fortunately Genesis was the type who had spent many years in combat and was used to split second decisions and movement. He instantly knew as he was starting to put pressure on the blade what his next move would be without even thinking about it. Call it a warriors instinct or whatever but his next move would happen quick and swiftly. Genesis lifted his right leg and jerked it forward onto Kadajs nearby knee. With the force from the kick it could shatter any regular mans bones crippling them for life. This would most likely just break it or dislocate the knee and have Kadaj limping around the area.

As Genesis applied more force down the double blades of his opponent's sword tilted down at an angle towards its hilt from the contact point as a pivot, causing the ignited weapon to naturally slide down the side of the weapon. This change in position closer to the hilt combined with a sudden upwards thrust from the teenager's body allowed him to push the engaged swords off to the side with great enough force to overcome the enemy's physical strength considering he had only one leg to stand on, breaking them wide apart.
The upwards thrust came from Genesis' own raised leg, on which the silver-haired boy's lead right foot had risen up in an inward crescent motion and planted down on after he had felt the change in his opponent's power and weight shift in that instant as it rose, intercepting it just barely after the lashing that would have injured his knee had reached its mark. The child did not look old enough to have the same battle-trained experience of Rhapsodos, but something guided him as if he did regardless.
The leather-clad swordsman(The black leather-clad one at least) had their right knee rising up farther as he pushed up with his left foot on the enemy's limb, sending it accelerating upwards at Genesis' chin rather dangerously. It was doubtful to land cleanly, but he would be flying up and over in a somersault and twist motion either way to land behind the One-Winged Monster's position, his blade having switched over to his right hand in that second of movement during which his familliar green eyes did not leave the enemy's form and his childish smile never faltered. Wasting no time the boy rebounded off his landing and stabbed forward with his blade towards the back of the red coat that may still have been before him, or any possible equivalent target if such a description no longer applied.

"I expected more from you, brother."
The child whispered these cryptic words in his elder's ear after running him through with the double-bladed Souba. The stranger apparently had no intentions of killing Genesis though, as he had pierced through without damaging anything to lead to instant death and nothing that the Coliseum's healing staff couldn't fix.
Without giving his name the boy pulled his blade out with a rush, causing a little more damage as he did so, and flew back a few meters from his small leap. After skidding to a halt the sword was switched to his left hand and he waved it down once as if to bring the battle to an end. He smiled and, for a moment, his visage was replaced by an older one. As soon as the apparition appeared it vanished again, and the man himself was quick to follow. The barrier around the arena lifted and he was engulfed in the same light that had delivered him. The swordsman shot into the sky and was gone.
All that was left was for the "champion" to claim his prize.
