Audition post (400 words):
Castle Oblivion. He had been told to go there by Xemnas. Not that Roxas minded. He would've done just about anything to get out and about. But why Xigbar had to go with him, he didn't know. And what he was supposed to do when he got there, he didn't know. Xemnas had told Xigbar the details. And while Roxas didn't like being left in the dark, he wasn't going to complain. That'd just make things worse then they'd already been. Tensions in the Organization were high. Most of the members found they're way back, but few trusted each other after all that happened. Then again, maybe they never did trust each other in the first place.
"So Xigbar, you wanna clue me in as to what sorta mission he's sending us on this time?" Roxas asked.
"I don't see why I should keep ya in the dark any longer, we're almost there, so sure. Why not kid?"
"Kid?" Roxas snapped. He didn't like it when people called him that.
"That's not relevant right now Roxas. What is however, is the fact we have some Heartless to exterminate, and a member to find. Xemnas thinks that Axel might be somewhere in the castle."
"Axel. Xemnas is still willing to take him back after what he did?"
"Xemnas thinks about the big picture. What better way to keep someone you don't trust from messing up your plans? You keep an eye on them. And that's what we're going to do. Well, you are anyway."
"Why me?"
Xigbar said that Axel trusted Roxas, so Axel wouldn't ask too many questions if he kept an eye on him.
"Makes sense. I guess." Roxas hesitated.
"What's the matter kid?" Xigbar smiled.
"I just don't see why Xemnas would go through so much trouble. But then again, I never do according to you and Xaldin." Xigbar laughed. The two stopped walking, and stood before a giant castle, with a strange deformed look to it.
Xigbar pointed at himself, then pointed up. Roxas realized he was saying he'd go up, Roxas goes down. Meet on the ground floor. Xigbar vanished, and Roxas did the same. He reappeared in the bottom floor of the castle, some ten or so floors down. He began to walk around, looking for Axel. About five minutes later, he found him, lying face down on the ground. He ran over to him, and helped him up.
"It's about time Roxas. I didn't think I'd have to hold off those Heartless all day." Axel said with a grin.
"Sorry Axel, me and Xigbar took the long way." As Roxas said this, Heartless began to take form.
"We gotta get out of here for now Roxas. I'm in no condition to fight." Roxas nodded, and opened up a portal. He and Axel walked into it. They reappeared at the throne room in the Castle That Never Was. Xigbar showed up shortly after. Roxas looked around, and everyone was there.
"You did well kid, cept one thing. You didn't take care of any Heartless." Xigbar snapped.
"Well I would've if I didn't have to cart Axel back here!" Roxas snapped. He felt sorta bad for talking about his friend like that, but it was true. "I'll go back and take care of them. A few Heartless shouldn't be a problem for me. And if it's a few hundred, that'll just give me some exercise." He put Axel in his seat, then sat down in his own.
"So after I take care of that nuisance, when do we act? I'm getting tired of doing nothing. I'd be much happier moving around. This gets kinda boring after a while." Xemnas laughed and said it would be soon enough. Roxas thought the possibility of that being soon enough for him were slim, and probably none. Don't get him wrong, he'd been grateful, sort of anyway, that the Organization let him back in, but he wasn't exactly content with his current situation. He never got to see any action, and he was getting bored really fast. And Xigbar calling a kid only made him all the more sour. On the upside, Axel was back, and he was getting to clear a whole nest of Heartless. Roxas got up, and moved to leave.
"I'm going to go take care of that problem now." Roxas said half-heartedly.
Xemnas motioned, and Demyx got up. Roxas realized it was so that they could keep an eye on him, after all, he wasn't exactly in their good graces either. "Let's go Demyx. The two left.
"That one can be quite the handful can't he Superior?" Saïx asked.
Xemnas agreed, but he said Roxas was well worth the effort.
