Physical appearance ~ : Red is a tiny, mousy looking man, inches shorter than average. Complimenting this tiny body is an underdeveloped, weak looking frame. His eyes are brown and his hair, always painstakingly groomed to perfection, is a lustrous black.
Clothing/Accessories ~ : Red's clothes tend to fall towards the conservative. Pleated slacks, a nondescript white button-up shirt, and a dark clerk's vest. Also on his person are a set of large round glasses, magnified to such an extent that it makes his eyes seem comically large.

~Personality~
As you're walking through the door, you see many sights that influence your mood. The different feelings that suddenly wash over you are many, leaving you with a strange mix of emotions.

Alignment ~ : Light
Behavior ~ : Red spends nearly all of his time with his nose buried in a book of some kind. When he turns his attention to the outside world, it is almost always with an unflappable calm and disinterest, reflecting in his expressionless face. One of the most frustrating things about him is his penchant for silence; he almost (read: almost) never speaks a word to anyone. As though he is trying to convince the world that he is mute. If he feels the need to communicate, it is often done by opening his book and pointing to phrases or, if a phrase isn't available, seperate words until he can form a sentence. There are only a few reasons for him to say anything (see: abilities), but it is often joked at that he has a great singing voice.

Just as you're about to fight the creature, you feel the power of your ancestors filling you. The strength of a thousand men courses through your veins as you prepare for battle.

(All of Red's techniques revolve around his ability to read from a book and conjure images. Therefore, these do not work on enemies who are deaf/blocking their hearing, or (to an extent) those that are purposefully not paying attention to him. His abilities are also greatly limited if he doesn't have access to reading material of some kind.)
The Tempest
Opening the book, Red turns to a section dealing with the sea. Opening his mouth, he reads from the passage, describing a horrible storm that tosses those unfortunates caught in it. Then, by pointing the open book at his opponents, he unleashes a portion of the described torrent, manifesting itself as a burst of strong wind and a wave that erupts from the book, about five feet tall and four feet wide.
Strength: Weak
Uses: Red can use this ability in its weak form as many as ten times in a battle before his voice gives out/ he grows bored of repeating the passage. This technique also requires a cooldown of two posts from the time of activation.
The Face of Evil
Opening his book, Red picks out a passage dealing with the nature of evil. The image of horror/evil/diabolical figures he describes creates a surreal atmosphere emanating from the book. The suggestion is planted in the minds of the listeners of indescribable dread and apprehension. How the listener reacts is up to them, but normally the effect is a mild discouraging of violence against the reader for the turn it is read.
Strength: Weak
Uses: This technique can only be used eight times in a single in a battle, and only twice in succession.
Off of a Cliff-Hanger (I had a better name for this, but I just forgot it... )
Choosing an appropriately dramatic passage, Red entices the audience by spinning a wonderful story... then promptly changes to a passage so far removed from the original story that the shift causes a physical reaction in its listeners akin to pain and confusion.
Strength: Weak
Uses: Since this technique requires a longer setup than the others, it can only be used five times in a battle, and requires a two post cooldown.
Do Not Go Gentle...
Choosing a passage, usually from epic poetry, the reader conjures up images of extraordinary courage and strength. This causes the listeners to experience a boost in strength and resolve for the turn that the passage is read.
Strength: Weak
Uses: This technique can only be used three times in a battle, and requires a cooldown of three turns. Furthermore, because of the way Red's mind works, this can only be done on the turn immediately following an offensive based reading. (Since it affects all listeners, he does this in the hope that the enemies would decide to ignore his reading for Do Not Go Gentle... thus depriving them of the effects.)

People joke, say that Red was born with a book in his hand from day one. While this isn't exactly true, the truth isn't that far off. From an early age, Red was absolutely obsessed with books. He'd spend hours at a time catching up on the latest thriller or delving into an old classic. Books became his friends, moreso even than actual people. It was while he was thus engrossed that his natural talents as a mage blossomed. Rather than focus them in any field of magic, he instead continued to focus on his reading. Strangely, rather than atrophy with disuse, his talents seemed to merely manifest themselves in his hobby. Now he found that whenever he quoted his favorite books, strange things began to happen. Misunderstanding the cause, he figured it was merely his voice that was the catalyst. Unable to understand this affliction, and thinking himself cursed, he decided to take a sort of vow of silence. If any combination of words could have been a book quote, anything he could say could be the trigger for a spell. And so he only talks through his books, pointing to quotes and words to form his sentences, and only speaking when truly nessecary.
