When Sora closed The Door the subsequent effects not only resurrected the numerous worlds destroyed by the heartless, but the backlash also created an entirely different universe, which is actually "under and to the right" of the old one.
When the heartless were more or less 'defeated' here, the massive amounts of negative energy from them assailed the new universe, giving the heartless a firm foothold as many of their number swarmed over it. However, for some reason, they are not able to attack worlds directly, as they cannot fully materialize due to unknown effects.
However, they are able to materialize in the Sea of Stars, where they mass and fester, casting the worlds of this new universe in an 'eternal twilight', hiding them from each other. There are no stars at night, unlike the first few hours of the worlds' existence.
To the people of this universe, this is how it should be. However, due to the nature of this universe, for a bare three days it overlapped with the old one, enveloping a single world and absorbing it before the situation stabilized.
This world was called Concourse Valley. When all of the stars in the world's sky disappeared (a result of being transferred into the heartless infested space) the inhabitants panicked. Where it was peaceful, it is now a phobia-infested village where there are strict curfews and no one dare leaves their homes at night. It is here, our story began..
