So, I have a chance to take courses outside of my home country. Choices aren't exactly prolific but I'm considering either China (so I can learn the damn language. French and English are cool but people look at me and make some fundamental assumptions. And Saturday school for the past thirteen years only got me to like grade two Chinese D: ) or Germany/Denmark/Norway. This ain't set in stone and I haven't the faintest clue what my chances are (all I know is that my GPA is good enough) sooo-
Thoughts? Preferably I'd do this during the next Winter Semester which would be Winter 2010.
(I also haven't researched into how much this will cost. Tuition is low cuz' I'm Canadian and I haven't traveled anywhere like everyone else has so I have a bit saved up. I also don't drive which means, yohoho, no gas bills. But money might still be the ultimate deciding factor in the end. Still, if money wasn't what would you choose?)
Edit: Ah. I assumed, because the intro/good-bye board didn't rack up munny, that this place wouldn't either. I'm about 80% sure that my post count wasn't that number two posts ago so if someone considers this spam please move this and get rid of the additional munny. D:

I think this is fine in the general chat, don't worry. xD
It's awesome that you have that opportunity. =O Studying in any of those countries would be amazing, to say the least.
If I had the choice, I'd either go to Japan because I love so many things about it (and want to learn the language), or a Spanish speaking country because I'm already learning Spanish and all. I'm very interested in cultures and languages so I want to learn several languages and travel to multiple countries... maybe even choose a profession that would allow me to do so. It would be awesome to study in a foreign country. When I'm in college, if I do end up majoring in Spanish Language Education (my current goal) then I may have the chance to spend a semester in Ecuador or Spain.

If you're keen on traveling, consider anthropology. It's definitely an interesting discipline and practically demands that you travel if you want to make a living out of it: gone are the days of the armchair theoreticians. (And good riddance to them!)
Unfortunately Japan's not an option that's on the table for me right now. D: I think I'd enjoy Japan too but, eh, beggars cannot be choosers and all that stuff.
I should probably specify that this is a bilateral exchange program (not sure what that means) that my Uni has with others: as far as I can tell that means it's only for a semester or two as opposed to my entire college education. XD

China. Asian women are hot.
Oh, and the dominance of their culture and population within Western countries like the US, UK and Australia exceeds that of Germany/Denmark/Norway. Of course, there's always the chance that the Government will silence you and everyone you know in your sleep, though.

Omg yay! Another Canadian! I thought I was alone! XD I don't like the French language, it's so hard to learn! -off topic-
-back on topic- Anyways, Norway is probably the best. They have hot men, cool language, and from what I've heard from a friend who once lived in Norway (he's going to college in New York now) it's a very beautiful place. And a plus is that a lot of them speak English, so it might be easier for you to learn their language if you can get translations. It's so much easier for me that way, at least.

Damn, I woulda sworn I replied to this before. Talk about deja vu. From memory, what I said was: OH CANADA, OUR HOME AND NATIVE~ ... Actually, no, what I did mention was that the French language can be a tricky thing to learn what with its exception to every single rule but, eh, Quebec. It's kind of a learn or lose scenario. Or move out of the province when you're old enough but no one told *me* that when I was growing up. And I never really considered it either. Well, it's now narrowed down to China, Norway or Denmark. Denmark's supposed to be really clean and cool according to a co-summer-student person. Hnnnnnnn.

PM me this moving out business so you can save me from the horrors of Frenchness. XD
Or even better, teach me so I can get a job earlier.
I still say Norway. <.<

Denmark is apparently the happiest place on Earth. Just throwing that out there.
