As you are heading out the door of your house, a small glimmer of light catches your eye. You turn around and see a mirror, putting you face to face with your reflection.

Physical appearance ~ : Kai is 5’11 weighing in at about 195 pounds. He is athletically built, having the size of a quarterback, maybe even a smaller running back. He has spiky dirty blond hair that is short and untamed. He is always smiling, even when the going gets tough.

Clothing/Accessories ~ :

Kai wears a multicolored jacket and a black shirt underneath it. He wears black knuckle gloves on both hands but on his left arm he wears an gauntlet connected to his gloves. He wears blue baggy shorts with black leather straps on them. Wears yellow boots with black leather straps wrapped around them. His arm brace serves as a storage compartment for gems or other trinkets.

Lazy Bum:
Kai is generally laid back and uncaring. If he can help it he will usually avoid the fighting and let his teammates do the fighting. He will jump in if needed. He gets offended whenever some does call him a lazy bum or anything like it. Even though he is very lazy he never backs down from a challenge. He will however try to find a way to make the challenge one that he will not have to expend much energy on. Or he will try to talk his way out of it altogether.

Compulsive Liar:
Kai has always had a knack for telling stories. Most of his stories are unbelievable and seem totally made up, but with the recent heartless attacks they’ve become more believable. Knowing this he makes up stories all the time to either get out of doing something, get someone else to do it for him, or just for kicks.

Skilled Fighter/Bloodthirsty Killer:
When Kai does fight he becomes very serious. He focuses solely on defeating and humiliating his opponent. If his opponent is fighting to the death Kai will gladly oblige and kill them willingly. He often has no remorse for killing others, surprising others greatly. He does not remember how many people he’s killed but he says that it’s a pretty big number for someone at a young age. Because of his SOLDIER training he always manages to surpris others with his adept fighting skills. He is able to not only hold his own in group battles but is able to outshine his teammates as well.

Do-Gooder...Sort of: Despite the killing thing Kai always tries to do the right thing. Now what’s right to him might not be what is normally considered “right”.

Seriousness and Love: Kai can be serious when he wants to, especially when he is passionate about something. He believes in true love and knows that his soul mate is out there and he knows that one day he will find her.

Base Ability: Gem Absorption- This ability allows him to absorb different gems, (such as, rubies, diamonds, and sapphires) at a maximum of two at a time, into his body. He can then use the gems “elemental” properties. (the rest of his ability slots will be used for describing the different forms he takes on when absorbing a certain gem.

[Diamond]
[This is Kai’s most physically dominant form. When in this form his body becomes encased in hard diamond armor. He gains super strength and high durability but not invulnerability. Kai can shoot diamonds from his arms and hands as projectiles. He can also crystallize other people/objects while in this form. While hard to break it can be broken with enough force. When Kai crystallizes a human it can preserve their bodies for years allowing them to live longer.]

[When Kai absorbs and uses rubies it gives him the power of pyrokinesis. When he takes on this for his body begins to take on magma like form. His eyes turn orange and his body glows red and orange. His body temperature rises to the point where any physical attack on him will burn his foes. This form can however be extinguished with water or any other way to put out a fire. If you can withstand the heat you can also break the form physically.]

[Moonstone]
[This gem gives him the power of light manipulation, telekinesis, and gives him enhanced speed, agility, reflexes, and heightened senses. When in this form his body stays in human form but in a clear rock form. His body sparkles when hit by light and is said to be his most beautiful form. Requires room to be at 50% lit or will not even take form. The more light the stronger he gets and the more dark the weaker he is. This form can be broken physically.]

[Sapphire]
[This form gives him control over water. When in this form Kai’s body begins to turn into a kind of slimy watery looking form. His body glows a kind of silvery blue. He can turn his body into a puddle and travel like that but he is pretty noticeable seeing as the puddle still glows. He can also extend his limbs in this form. When in this form he must retain plenty of water or else he will die or be very sick. This form can be evaporated and broken physically.]

Kai was born to Leo and Raina Watobi in Sector 7 of Midgar (pre-meteor). His father worked for Shinra as a maintenance man and his mother was a stay at home mom. From time to time different mobs would come to Kai’s home and demand a payment, one that his family couldn’t afford most times. One day they threatened to kill Kai if his dad didn’t pay up but Leo offered them a deal they couldn’t refuse. Leo promised to steal Shinra’s latest SOLDIER experiment plans. Unfortunately Leo’s father was caught and was terminated leaving Kai alone with his mother. The mobsters still harassed his home but his mother was strong willed and would constantly attempt to fight back. As Kai grew older he wanted to protect his mother from the mobsters and joined SOLDIER, leaving his mother with his at that time childhood friend, Saruko’s home for protection.

During his time at SOLDIER Kai befriended a 1st class soldier named Vezstantes but Kai would call him Vez for short. Whenever Vez went on missions he would request for Kai to tag along so he could “show him the ropes”. The ropes however were just lying around and doing nothing all day, which Kai enjoyed very much but would wonder how his friend ever became a 1st class. He would receive his answer when Vez took a very important mission. Kai watched as Vez quickly slaughtered a Turk camp close to Shinra. Kai was so impressed that he strived to be as good as Vez forgetting about his mother (who at that point had died from geostigma but Kai didn’t know it).

As they traveled back to Shinra Headquarters they were ambushed by two other Turk camps that had taken over that region. Vez did all he could to fight them off but the numbers were just too many. Vez gave Kai his sword, which at that time Vez didn’t even know its true name, and told him to run back to Shinra and tell them what happened. As Kai sped off Vez drew the attention away from Kai and sacrificed himself by blowing himself up via a bomb on his gauntlet. When Kai told Shinra about this Kai was taken to the subbasement of Shinra HQ where they experimented on different SOLDIERS. They told him that Vez was to be their next test subject for the GEM project, but said that Kai would be taking his place. Kai heard the torturous screams from different SOLDIERS as they were being experimented on and tried to escape, but to no avail and he was knocked unconscious.

Kai woke up months later after the events of Meteor and after Shinra was destroyed. He found that there was a gauntlet attached to him that he could not take of as it was infused with his skin. As he messed around with the gauntlet he learned that it was AI programmed to be somewhat of a companion/leash on Kai but its leash program was long since disabled. He learned that its name was GEM and it told him what had happened in the past months. It told him of his new found abilities to extract the elemental properties of gems and use them as weapons. It opened up to show a ruby and a diamond. Kai took out the diamond and stared at its beauty. Then the diamond began to sink into his skin like quicksand and he began to take on the form of a human diamond. Kai looked at himself in the broken glass at his feet. He smiled and realized he’d gotten what he wanted when his first arrived, power. GEM began to beep and Kai looked to see it was some sort of radar or tracking system. He followed the dot until he came across a locker which was in perfect condition compared to everything else around him. Kai open the locker to find two swords, Vez’s sword and his new sword Shifter. Kai, still in diamond form, picked up both swords. Shifter began to crystallize and looked more like a sword made from diamonds.

Kai was happy with his new found powers and searched the remains off Shinra for anything he might find useful. Unfortunately there were land mines planted around the area and Kai couldn’t explore much, but he did use this as and opportunity to test out his new powers. After about an hour of exploring, GEM told him that Shinra left Kai with an important mission. Kai was confused as he thought he was free of Shinra but this was not the case. GEM told him that his mission was to travel to other worlds and gather information about a species known as Heartless. GEM then showed him a hologram of a regular shadow heartless. Kai was somewhat disgusted yet fascinated by the creature and accepted this mission.

[ GEM: The gauntlet that holds all of his current gems. Not a weapon itself for it does no damage and holds no special abilities other than the fact that it only opens to its rightful owner and can talk for it has it own AI programming. GEM serves as a storage department, a journal, a tracking device, and trusted companion. Kai can however pass down the gauntlet to another person but that will not be happening anytime soon.]

Okay, there are a few things I'd like you to deal with before this can be approved. First, it'd help if you filled out the 'Basic Info' section with your username and any other characters you have (if none, just put 'none').

Secondly, the Gem Absorption Abilities have way too many Ability forms for their current Strength levels (IMPORTANT: note the difference between 'Ability forms' -- meaning the number of things one Ability can do, and Transformations) and violates two specific rules, as listed below:

• Generally speaking, weak-level abilities should have only one form(Depending on the specifics of the situation and the moderator's judgment). As an ability upgrades to moderate or strong, however, additional/alternate forms or levels of use may also be added as long as the true nature of the ability remains intact.
  
• //Telekinesis is a case-by-case close evaluation. Telekinesis implies lifting, crushing, moving, throwing, and other things. in some cases it is more than one ability in one. You can be ultra specific, like Crushing Telekinesis in which you can only crush things, but something like that example is generally the only way it will be allowed as weak. Upgrading it from weak to strong may allow for a little more variety in uses.

I don't mean to be a stick in the mud... but as it is, this character is quite a bit overpowered. Please make his Abilities more appropriate for their strength level.

Additionally, I'm not quite sure the character history really adds up. I could be wrong but... didn't geostigma not exist until after the SOLDIER project and Shinra were all but destroyed? And last time I checked the Turks worked for Shinra. Just a few things worth considering -- you can always just say it's an alternate reality if you prefer to keep those details.

Aside from these concerns, the character looks solid. Fix up the Abilities and I'll give you the green light.
