I just made a terrifying discovery. I’ve apparently been pronouncing “Rhea” incorrectly. Even though it was my name in Latin class. Maybe I just forgot over time..? It’s not “RAY uh,” like I thought. It’s actually “REE ah.” T-T So does everyone pronounce it the other way? I’m curious.
... I’ll always be “RAY uh” to me.

I've always said "Reee-Ahh" in my head. You can pronounce it anyway you want, but I think "Ray-Uh" would be spelt "Raeya" or something. XD

I thought it was Ray-uh. But only because I usually assume that added H's would affect the word somehow.
Or that's how I think my thinking went. I don't usually ponder over pronunciation. I thought 'urine' was pronounced you-reen for the longest time. Now I know that it's apparently you're-in.

Likewise, though it was more Ray-Ah.
Maybe I should call you Ray Gun.

Alright, as long as some people pronounce it my way, that's fine. xD I'm desensitized, there are two ways to pronounce Laura and I just accept them. "La-ra" and "Lor-ah."
Ray Gun disapproves. ZZZZZZZ.
Well, glad that's cleared up. xD

It's actually the name of a family member of mine who I won't specify, so I knew it was pronounced ree-ah. And that's also why I didn't realize anyone else might think it was pronounced differently. It's just natural to me. XD

I've always said it Ree-ah.
Though I normally pronounce things wrong. I'm proud for getting something right! xD

I read too much, so I knew the stereotypical pronounciation was "REE-uh".
But hey! YOU'RE NOT STEREOTYPICAL! WOOO!
....
WOOOO!

I never said it. I just said, Hey look, it's the person who loves High! And that was only when I spoke about you. Usually I just typed your name and didn't put any thought into how it was said.

REE-ah, RAY-ah; tomAEto, tomAHto. Take it from someone who's studied to be an English teacher: language, even pronunciation, is a function of culture and individuality. In some places its a "sub", others its a "hoagie" or a "hero", but whether you ask for a "soda", "pop", "cola", or "a bubbly phosphor" (Renaissance fair term), we're still talking about the same thing. Who's right, who's wrong? Nobody. You go with whichever version you like better, Rhea. And if anyone has the gall to call it "wrong", you just claim creative license and chuckle at the uncultured charlatans. P.S.: I used to think it was "MAGE-us" until I found out it was "MAY-gus". You're hardly the first person to slip up on an unfamiliar name, so relax.
