Audition post:
Ratix let out a short yawn, it was a peaceful day in Clatos, his hometown. No bandits, no monsters, heck, no Dorn and Milly arguing! Of course, he knew that those two were arguing, but were doing it out near the mountains were the strongest medical herbs were. In all, the day was boring, but in a good way.
Of course, the minute he thought that, people near the southern gate began screaming. His tail began flicking in interest and worry as he ran over towards the gate to hear the people screaming about brigands coming towards the town.
When he saw the "group of brigands" he almost let out sigh of relief. It wasn't a big group, just three thugs being led by Mugine, a small time thief from the south!
They stopped as they saw him, and he took the oppurtunity to say, "Mugine, as a member of the Clatos Brigade, I must ask you to turn back and leave the town alone. If you don't, I'll be forced to hurt you guys, and I know you don't want that."
Mugine sneered at him, "Ha! You're all alone this time, you little punk! We'll take you out before your friends have a chance to get back!"
Ratix's expression hardened, and he drew the longsword on his back. "Fine then," he said, "I guess I have no choice but to make you leave!"
The first brigand rushed him as he finished, his axe held over his head for a downward swing. He didn't get far, as Ratix shouted "Firestorm Blade!" His sword burst into flames, and he hit the brigand with an upward swing, which he followed with a downward finishing blow.
As he landed, the two other lackeys rushed him from either side. He managed to jump back, and shouted, "Take this, Lightray Blade!" He swung his sword in an arc above himself this time, and spheres of light fired out above him, only hurting the enemies a little, but knocking them back.
The brigand nearest him managed to get up quickly, but a cut to the chest put him back down. The other, however, threw a small bomb at Ratix, who was hit by the explosion and thrown back.
Ratix pulled himself up, and said, "You guys have bombs? You're a bigger threat than I thought..." He lunged forward, and took out the last lackey before he could light another fuse.
Mugine looked worried at the loss of his men, and began to try to sneak away. Ratix looked at him and said, "Where do you think you're going?"
A few girlish screams later, Mugine was safely locked up in the holding cell of the Clatos Brigade headquarters, and Ratix was back on the roof. 'Yup,' he thought to himself, 'nice and boring.'
