Physical appearance ~ :
Guido has retained just enough "baby fat" to seem cute and harmless. He appears younger than he actually is because of his smooth, happy features. He is incredibly short, and is considered somewhat portly for being a mere 4' tall. Guido has bright blue eyes, full of enthusiasm. He has thick, brown hair which is constantly hidden beneath a hat, and keeps a thick, black mustache.

Clothing/Accessories ~ : Guido wears overalls of varying colors, but consistently wears an orange newsboy hat which matches his long sleeve, orange shirt. Guido wears light brown shoes or boots quite frequently. He is never caught without his smooth, white gloves.

~Personality~ Guido is a happy go lucky, adventurous, and determined individual. He is noble and almost fearless, rushing headlong into any danger if his cause is just. Guido rarely allows himself to be discouraged, even by the gravest circumstance.

As you're walking through the door, you see many sights that influence your mood. The different feelings that suddenly wash over you are many, leaving you with a strange mix of emotions.

Behavior ~ : Guido can grow a bit heartsick and lonely at being removed so far from his own world. He often misses his home, his brother Giovanni, and his girlfriend Princess Plum. Of course, he also misses his pets: the dinosaur named Fuji and the gorilla known as Muley Kong. Guido worries about those friends he left behind who must still be struggling with the Dragon King's forces. However, Guido has his hands full dealing with these unknown worlds he's been thrown into by his rival, Baddo.

Guido often uses his trusty hammer for throwing purposes. It is a thick, stocky weapon very similar to Guido himself. As a true carpenter, Guido always carries nails with him to make this hammer even more useful.

This is a block of wood. It is longer than it is wide and makes for a decent melee weapon. However, it is simply wood and can be broken in half quite easily.

Waterballooner's Suit
Guido has done volunteer firefighting part time for many years. However, it has not been through conventional means. Whenever Guido makes contact with a Water Lily, his clothing changes colors to white and blue. This is an excellent choice against fire wielding enemies or fire related obstacles. Guido's transformation into Waterballooner Guido allows him to throw tightly composed spheres of water with great impact. These spheres shatter on impact, sending unusually high intensity streams of water at their target. This "suit" also allows Guido to breathe underwater and swim faster. However, it is exceptionally weak against electricity.

Strength: Moderate (4)
Uses: Guido only picks 4 Water Lillies each day, which means 4 transformations. Guido loses his Waterballooning abilities if he is struck by an enemy.

Eagle Suit
When Guido makes contact with an Eagle Feather, his clothing transforms a white and brown, feathery Eagle Suit which enables him to fly. Guido is able to attain high air speeds, which aids in traveling a great distance in a limited amount of time. Guido is also able to use his beak and claws in this form to attack low level foes.

Strength: Weak (2)
Uses: Guido only carries 2 Eagle Feathers with him per day. Guido loses his Eagle powers if he is hit by an enemy.

Guido was born as a stranger in a strange land called The Fungus Kingdom. While this world was bright, beautiful, and full of possibilities...it also had its share of problems. The dreaded Dragon King had terrified the peaceful citizens of The Fungus Kingdom with his band of attack turtles which were called The Dragon Waggas. Yes...attack turtles. Guido and his brother Giovanni would not stand for such injustice and strove to overthrow the Dragon King-Wowzer. Eventually, the natives would no longer listen to the King, effectively taking away his rule. The throne was restored to Princess Plum, the rightful ruler of the Fungus Kingdom...all thanks to Guido and Giovanni.

Though Guido and Giovanni had become the greatest heroes in all the land, they too had their own personal rivalries. Baddo and Evilanni were constantly attempting to outdo or humiliate the Guido Brothers, who were now even referred to as SUPER. Though this rivalry was nowhere near as dangerous or serious as the one against Wowzer, it had been brewing for almost as many years. This feud culminated in The Fungus Kingdom when Baddo used a Distortion Ray on Guido...inadvertantly sending them both to a new dimension...with none of their allies to depend on. Will they ever get back to their world?

This character is an intentional parody of Mario Mario from the Super Mario Brothers' series. I think he will be a lot of fun and will fit in well with Disney characters especially. If approved, I'd also like to bring in his arch rival-Baddo (a satire of Wario).

I don't like this. Your good intentions are noted, perhaps it would be a nice addition, and I for one don't mind subtle similarities with well known characters (A character of mine once used wires and was a waiter part time). But this is too obvious. Honestly? You might as well call him Mario. If we allow this sort of thing, it'd be open game for every close, glaringly obvious, parodies.

I will keep this thread open for you to appeal your case using whatever justification you can muster -nod- I am open to reason.

This character was not intended to break any rules or good taste. I was brainstorming characters that would fit in well here and the Mario universe came quickly to mind. The way that Kingdom Hearts is structured, it's such a wide open universe with possibilities. I understand there have to be some cut off points, because some characters just aren't *right* for Kingdom Hearts, such as Carnage from the Spider-Man series. I just feel that these characters will be a benefit to the group and not a detriment to it.

The strongest point, yes. The KH universe is expansive, incorporating things even like Pirates of the Caribbean and Pooh Bear into one. So why not this too? Well, simply enough, to keep this place defined as a KH Roleplay Forum, the rule was implemented for only Square Enix/Soft and Disney canon characters to be possible. Lets admit, under the fake mascara and the change of clothes, that's Mario. If I allow this, what's to say some other person won't make a light speed hedgehog? Or transforming gargantuan robots? We might as well stop calling this a KH forum.

EDIT: Mario RPG Thank Prythian. Looks like you've been saved. This game was created by Square and likely makes Mario an eligible character for canon auditions.

This part is just a little extra pondering, I've been wondering what 'suits' KH. You said KH had an open possibility of worlds. You are correct. However, you are wrong for thinking heavy or sinister moods are inappropriate. What do you think Heartless were? They took out people's hearts and made them 'one of them'. Last I saw, people were murdered by zombies in Pirates of the Caribbean. Given some worlds are more rainbows and sunshines than others, but a change in atmosphere from world to world is expected, right? The game got rid of blood and violence as a whole so it'd be accessible to young audiences. But it's different in an RP, right?

Unlike characters such as Magus and Frog, Mario is not Square Enix property. Mario is Nintendo's flagship posterboy for a fun monster squishing time, not Square Enix's! Sure, Square got pulled in or whatnot to make the game, but letting Mario in as a canon on those grounds wouldn't suit the concept of Square Enix chars = canon.

Besides. If that were allowed, similar stuff could happen with Disney. How many of you want Power Rangers to be canons? (Credit Nascent for finding that out!)

So I think Mario should be brought to discussion, or something. It's Mario! On a KH forum, even with the Mario RPG technicality, shouldn't s'more thought be put behind that?

He's still not breaking any rules though if he went for a Mario audition, and that's what it comes down to. So Power Rangers wouldn't be breaking rules either, regardless of what people want or not. He's still within the boundaries of the rules. I'm not fond of suddenly changing the rules to suit us either. Heh, yes, our rules need to be clearer and more definite about this topic.

Alright, Ruin. I'm going to have to ask you not to apply for Mario or anything Mario related. I won't stop you but someone else might even though that would be utterly unjust as you are within the boundaries of the rules.
