Audition post (400 words): ¨Yeah, my life, it's so weird to understand why us nobodies were made in the first place... Not that i care, music is all i need¨ Demyx had been saying as he looked to his Sitar, he wondered why people call him a fragile piece of junk, that his personality doesn't fit the Organization XII's plans...

¨Well, they say one of my biggest negative traits is that I'm a cowardly dog. I don't fear death, it's just that i don't like to hurt people! Besides, what's the fun in being death if you can't embrace the things you like¨ He proceeded to stand up from the chair he was on, and walked outside the Organization castle, and stared to the always darkish sky of The World That Never Was:

¨They also say that i can't fight just because i don't like to... That's false, i can control water to my will, and to people who say this liquid is harmless, just wait until a big wave of water drowns you up. Oh, and my sitar can help getting the Nobodies in order¨ He started to run to the other parts of the darkish place and determined that the place had made him think melancholic stuff, and teleported to a more peaceful place located in Radiant Garden:

¨Ah, now this place is much better for me, i can truly relax here. Yeah i admit i am very slackish at times, but i also have a fun easy-going personality. But the other guys don't care for that, their only wish is to regain their hearts...¨ Demyx laughed, but didn't feel anything from it, and then remembered the real reason why the other members want to have their hearts again, after all, nobody likes to be emotionless. He then looked back and started to think about something, like if he forgot it:

¨What is it, what it may be? Let's see, i got nothing on my mind. Yes, I'm not very smart as say, Vexen, but I'm not a idiot! I could think of strategies, strategies that may probably be rejected, but anyways...¨ He proceeded to browse his What-To-Do Cards and then saw one that made him remember what's he's supposed to do:

¨Oh right! According to this card, it says that i gotta wait in the castle until Saix comes back, and then receive further orders. I should come back now, I'm sure he's back already¨ Demyx looked eager to return, as he had a new appreciation for life and to regain his heart after venting out all of what he said:

¨It's time to rock! Better don't get in my way now! He then, used the dark portal which is trademark of all of the Organization XII's members and returned to The Castle That Never Was.

Notes: Well, this was my first chance at auditioning Demyx, i'm sure i showed his Inner and Outer Personalities, but not so sure if i represented them well...

It's a different approach to auditions, a kind of...interview-ish look on it. I'll give you credit for that. However, it's not really a credible approach for Demyx. You managed to pull off his outer personality just fine, what with how people view him and his love for music. Even for inner personality [the perhaps gnawing 'feeling' Demyx get of how others perceive him or how much of a scatterbrain he can be] you got a passable grasp. However, it's the way you pull it off that doesn't really convince me.

First of all, I don't think Demyx is the deep monologue type. Nor is he someone who would fret or worry over what the others think of him by venting through words [venting through music maybe]. Out of all the org members, Demyx is perhaps the most emotional and you have exhibited that well. It's just that this audition might be going in the wrong direction.

I would like to see more actions. Dialogue and amount of action are not quite balanced in this audition, making it slightly off focus. And please capitalize your 'I's...it's a personal pet peeve. There are some grammar problems here and there that kinda disrupts the flow of the audition, but I suck with grammar, so I don't blame you. Is slackish even a word? >__>

Well, after all this, my answer would have to be...1/2 denied. A good attempt, but not yet. I suggest that you keep trying, using a different approach next time. Work on action and make him a bit less ranty.

Unfortunately I agree with High. I can see some of Demyx’s personality in this, but it’s basically just a list of him talking and appearing in different places. Try to make him interact with the environment more, pick a single setting for the audition and allow a scene to take place.

Also, don’t forget the other side of him that showed during the battle with Sora. Being a nobody and all he really can’t feel anything according to the game. So though he may act out his emotions, even more so than characters like Axel, he’s inevitably unable to feel. I’m not sure if, on his own, he’d still put on that act. But that part might just be my own opinion.
