Thats the BIG question thats sparked a small controversy here.
I have spent my day today looking over the rules of the forum and have a few questions as to why we have this and that and why don't we have this instead?
First question, I read the different classes that are on here. My question(s) are, what is the difference between the newer ones that were never in the Kingdom Hearts games? The first three are ok in my book I mean they were what you started off with. But the Tamer, and the Tech, and the Summoner, don't seem like classes the forum should have. How many people have characters with those specific classes and actually use them to their full advantages? The problem I have with tech classes is it doesn't relate to a character and their growth. This seems like a class for shopaholics than anything. Do these new classes really need to be made?
Second question, I've looked at all the shops and what they have to offer. My question(s) is, can you guys make something worth buying there? I mean this is coming from a newbie here, nothing there makes me feel like I want to do countless rps just so I can go to the shop. My other problem is, why is it that you can only get this stuff at the shop/quests? Can't we do rps where we obtain them as we rp? I also don't understand, as to why you guys have abilities for sale too. Is this forum that lazy that we have to copy abilities from the actual game and put a price tag on them? Can't we learn these abilities through experience in rp instead? It's alot more realistic to me.
Third Question, if I wanted to do an rp where I gave those who were in there some type of item or prize why would I get in trouble for doing that? Would it be cool if that item I gave them be put in their characters inventory? Why is it only strictly reserved for the Quest Masters? Why can't anyone just do a quest and give out prizes or be the Dungeon Master of their own rp?
Fourth question, The Keyblade. Yeah I know this one has been touched on alot, I know I read them. But what if I don't want to buy one or go questing for one because it would be wasteful of me, can I just have a Keyblade for my character? It wouldn't be like the ones you guys have with all that stuff added to it, it would just be my very own Keyblade so I can go out and slash away at some Heartless and save the world. better yet why don't we change the requirements for having a Keyblade? Why can't we do it based on the character themselves? A Keyblade chooses it wielder based on their hearts right? Why not have them show us then? Eeyore has a Keyblade and thats just crazy to think about. Eeyore would never have a Keyblade not in a million years. It should be given to characters who show that they are one of the chosen few who can wield one. Not based on the persons activity, thats a small factor.
I have more questions but four will be good for now. I'll post those up after I get these answered.

1. •The Tech class was made for those who wish to focus on items and equips, instead of having to deal with a lack of them. See, unlike you, many people do like what are in the shops. Yes, they are mainly physical attacks people could execute themselves, but equips usually cost less than a full ability. The class is meant for those who want to take advantage of the shops, instead of having to slowly increase their munny using posting, betting, and the other numerous methods we have.
•As for the Tamer class, we can't exactly let every smuck run around having an army of heartless to summon, hm? The Tamer class is made for canons such as Pete or Shan-Yu. Though anyone can buy minions, a Tamer is for a character focused on using just their minions.
• The summoners are here for those who have characters whose battle-strategy relies on using another sort of partner. A dragon-knight, or maybe a person who solely likes to manipulate. Abilities can be symbolic, though I'm sure you've contemplated that.
2. This is really a stupid point, man... The shop has many items were all interested in. And if you want something in the shop, you have found the suggestion board. Clap clap. And you can submit RP threads for synthesis materials and RP discounts on abilities. =D
3. If you have the item in your inventory, feel free to give it, we run member-ran plots here. Now, as for the reasons QMs are limited to this privilege, it is because we can't just say "oh, you did this. You get a keyblade!" and have everyone running around with the most powerful weapon or item in the RP.
4. Keyblades. Very Powerful. Very legendary. Having one not only shows you're an active, dedicated member. Now, if you just want a keyblade to say your character has one and it ties into your plot story and such, you could just make a keyblade-fake. It still is treated as a keyblade in IC, but it has no additional powers or abilities.

3. This would work only IF there was no shop system. Now, since there is a shop system, we don't want people giving out freebies. Therefore, it lies in the hands of staff to be able to give out those items in Quest. The end.
Now, as Grav pointed out, should you be giving out something in your own inventory to other people, feel free.

But what if it isn't in your inventory? What if its a treasure chest or an item some enemy dropped? Can you give those out? I'm well aware that there shouldn't be people handing out Keyblades every time they do an rp, I have more faith in the members of this forum you know.
But what good does synthesis materials and discounts do if you did an rp where you learned an ability or received an item? Can't members who don't wish to buy this stuff just request to add it into their inventory?

That didn't really answer my question upside down 'death'. And I thought that this place allowed free play. I read in the rules that the munny system is just for those who want to follow the formal guidelines and not free play. Does this also go towards character profiles for those who don't and may never plan on using the munny system?

Yeesh people, I'm already on this forum and now even I don't feel welcome. XD Well I have been called forth so I'll do my best, though as a non-staff member I can't promise my answers are concrete. Sorry.
First question: Yes. They do.
Second question: Yes. We can. You can offer suggestions for what would be worth buying any time you want.
Third question: Yes. You can. But it can't be something going in their munny-system inventory thread and it would not be permanent to their character under official guidelines unless they used their RPer discount to purchase it with munny.
Fourth question: No. Sorry. Actually, if I had my own personal way, nobody would even be able to get them besides the canon characters who already did. XD But this isn't my forum, so a method to obtain one does indeed exist. If you want it changed there's really nothing I can say about that other than what the current method is.
Question after first post: Sure. Free play all you want, you just need partners who are also willing to do free play and you'll have to accept that if someone doesn't want to free play then they may ask you to follow the formal guidelines if you are playing with them. Must be respectful to everyone, after all.

How was it that only this guy was able to answer it and not try and criticize my curiosity? Since apparently you are the only one answering these questions correctly I'll direct them to you now Bilby.
So can you guys create an inventory board or something where people who obtain items differently than others can put in or why not create a section in the profile itself?
So if I suggest a new way of getting a Keyblade will it be taken into consideration or just be ignored?
Oh wait I have a question to answer now! Well to be honest I joined without having full knowledge of everything. After I joined, I spent the time to look around and saw stuff that I wanted to know about more just so I can get a better feel of this forum. Thats why I've been asking all theses questions and making all these comments. I'm not complaining, I just asked everyone why this is there, or why do we have this, or can we do this instead? I haven't been on this forum and I don't know its history so I'm going to ask these kinds of questions. If it looks as if I'm complaining thats not my fault, maybe I just think things could be better than they are now and they can be. You can stick to the same standards which is understandable since you all have been here much longer than I have, but I'm not.

It wouldn't be ignored, no. Staff will always look into suggestions seriously, their chances simply depend upon the amount of thought put into them and how things have worked out here in the past as a measuring stick. Keyblades have always been sensitive but the staff is still trying to find the right balance for acquiring one even now, I can attest to that much. It's just that with a sudden and unexpected change in management a few months ago there has been a lot of other stuff that seemed more pressing to work out first. But with time passing and things settling now may be the best time of all for making such a suggestion, actually, though it might take a while to process it.
I don't know about a section specifically for free play stuff but if you don't mind a suggestion I think the "Other" section at the very bottom of the profile would be a good place to use already. You can write and later add anything you want there to keep track of it, and that way it is easily distinguished from the rest of the stuff up in the formal sections of the profile.
How does that sound?

Oh, silly me I never really gave a reason for your first question's answer did I? Sorry about that. Was caught up with the others I guess.
Well, first you'll have to believe me when I say that none of those were added haphazardly. People have wanted and suggested a lot of things over the years since FM opened. It was sort of a way to let people have better options for making their character's official parameters. That way if you want a summon even for use in formal play a summoner character lets you focus on that aspect of a normal character to get it right away w/o munny simply by making other things slower to get. That way even if you were to join an official event of some kind that followed the guidelines you would still have your summon, for example.
So they were started a long time ago and a couple were added since over time just to comply with the desire to let people have the chance to focus on something if they want to.
