Not exactly YouTube (maybe we should change this section's name to straight-up 'video'?), but certainly a must-see for fans of Monty Oum's work. I know I'm not the only one who's eagerly been awaiting this! The DOA verses FF brawls continue, with some rather interesting results! A few new characters show up too... including somebody I thought I'd never see in this series. Now, if only he'd put some Chrono Trigger characters in the mix... ;D And recently added... Warning: Blood, gore, and realistic violence in this episode For those who, through some sad twist of fate, haven't seen I and II, you MUST watch them FIRST to have any earthly idea what's going on. Links are below.

I watched all of those clips, and I have no idea what dead fantasy is. Is it a video game?

No. Dead Fantasy is a 3D art project by artist Monty Oum. The plot is very simple right now: the girls of the Dead or Alive fighting games verses the heroines of the Final Fantasy games. Think of this as the ultimate form of fan art and fan fiction fused together -- literally, a fan movie. In short, Monty Oum is THE MAN!

Heck yes, I've been waiting for this. I wonder if that text in the fourth one was from Yuna, acting as a foreshadow to Cloud's arrival? Cloud does have a similar appearance to Tidus, hm.
Aeons vs Kasumi X clones was awesome. Pity Yojimbo, Magus sisters and Anima weren't included, but watching the clones overwhelm with sheer force of numbers and agility made my day. I've had my daily dose of awesome for today.

THIS JUST IN!!Dead Fantasy V was released at 4:30 TODAY! What's more, seeing as III and IV were released, respectively, on July 13th and 20th... this may well signal that Monty Oum has found enough IRL stability to begin cranking out episodes. This... is... AWESOME! ;D EDIT: Be warned, V is... well, it's quite a bit more bloody and violent than any of the previous ones.

O-oh my. Granted, I'd already seen a portion of them from what was shown at Fanime, but I hadn't seen the completed ones until now.
Holy crap.
All I can say is Tifa is beast.

They keep getting better and better. It’s so cryptic though... We can only wonder what the hell is going on. xD

I have a theory.
The DOA fighters were sent on a mission to capture the FF characters so that the scientist woman (not sure who she is / what game she's from) can study their abilities. She's clearly into cloning (notice the Katsumi X clone at the end of III and all the copies fought in IV?), so she may be attempting to create a "perfect warrior" or something like that.
This not only explains why Yuna was being chased at the beginning, but also why Tifa was hunted & captured by those ninja jerks. Somehow I think Riona found out what was going to happen in advance and began gathering a select group to defeat this scientist's ambitions (thus the scene in V with Tifa falling off the cliff only to vanish; note the white feather).

I've been following Monty Oum's guest appearances on GameTrailers' Invisible Walls show every Friday so I knew these were coming... but darn it Nascent I was waiting until V came out to make a thread! You beater-me-to-iter! Oh well.
Don't expect any more episodes for another half a year at least though, haha. He does what he can but he waited to release all of these together that's why they are coming 1-2-3 like that. This set is now finished until he makes more.
@nascent: By "the Scientist" do you mean the blond woman who released the Kasumi clones?

Yes, exactly. Any clue who that is?

That's Helena. She's not a scientist. Actually she's an opera singer... but more importantly than that she's one of the fighters in the DOA games just like the other girls so far(Besides Rachel, the one with the huge scythe thing from II, who is from Ninja Gaiden).
Anyway, from what I have discovered from my research into the Dead or Alive universe's (Large emphasis quotes)"storyline"(Large emphasis quotes), Helena would be in ownership of the company that made all those clones of Kasumi(The red-haired ninja girl) b/c she happens to be old dead prez's daughter. The company apparently has a thing for creating the ultimate fighter or something and trying to catch or clone those ninjas has been a recurring theme for the games, so that's why there was a huge batch of them and why Helena knew where they were and how to release them(Though she doesn't like them) to help. And also why Kasumi was doing what she was doing at the end, since obviously the ninjas themselves wouldn't be down with that.
Actually Monty Oum made some DVD covers for when he was handing out discs of DF I & II at conventions and something on the back of them mentioned worlds merging and action needing to be taken or something like that. It was all very vague and I don't recall well what I read of it.
Since people on this forum may very not be familliar with DOA and I can attest that trying to learn about it is a frustrating chore(Its a fighting game after all) I'll also say that the ninja in white who hunted down Tifa in V was Kasumi's brother Hayate. Since he's apparently so uber strong though I'm surprised he let so many of his own ninja get themselves killed by a superior opponent as he just watched... apparently even he didn't think he could take her on until she was at an absolute limit? <.< Or maybe just "without killing her"?
DOA aside, most people have probably still heard of Ninja Gaiden at least. I can't be the only one dreaming of a Cloud Strife vs Ryu Hayabusa match now. XD
