Star - Plot Attempt

In this story, characters will be introduced into the plot line. Afterwards, the first beam will appear. Characters must choose wether or not they follow the signal or go their own path. Each way has a different outcome, so choose wisely. Oh, and everyone has lost something, being the reason why everyone is here. Characters can join at any time after the last poster posts his/her reply so we can add you to the posting order.

Remember; It's mystery and problem solving, not fighting.

The night sky, flustered with the bright and dim stars of the abyss, began to appear fully as the residents of Wonderland finally went to bed. All had been very normal recently, not to mention very boring for the guards of the Queen. No enemies have attempted to attack the Queen, nor have they dared to enter this wonderful world of amazement. No one has even been tried for execution. The Queen did surely miss her favorite phrase; Off with their head!, Although some might digress.

Out of the quiet embrace of the night, a strange thing occured. Wonderland... Changed? Although "Changed" might be a little bit to strong for this happening, for, in an area covered in shadow, a door appeared, two, actually. What could be inside? That was up to whoever created these doors. One was marked with the symbol of a male, the other marked with the symbol of a female.

Now this is where it gets odd. There seems to be someone, a secret person, of course, that wants to "play" with the beings of this universe. This person isn't all that bright, and seems to be... young? Maybe this might describe the reason for the stolen items all around the world. Now, he has challenged the Universe to a puzzle. The ones who have lost something are transported here by a blinding beam light where they will meet up, converse, and go on their way into the abyss called the Unknown.

Alright, so here are the rules.

1. The doors are marked for a reason. This person has split up the males and the females into different rooms, so trying to enter a room of the opposite gender will send you flying back, stunned.

2. The puzzles in every room are different, but the same in each gender, so if a puzzle appears in the male room, the puzzle will appear in the female room.

3. The objective of this puzzle is to see which gender is smart enough to figure out each puzzle before the other gender completes it.

4. Players shall begin when the first beam of light scatters across the sky and strikes in between the genders, splitting them and blocking them.

5.Players may go in before the bell, but to do so means to lose your prize that you'll recieve at the end.

As the first beam of light faded, two individuals could be seen emerging from its luminescent embrace. One was a young, thin-looking girl with an enormous backpack slung across her shoulders, while the other was an aging man with gray hair who wore a vastly discolored labcoat. Neither was entirely human - in fact, it was no stretch to say that they were another species altogether, as their rather feline appearances clearly displayed. They stepped out onto the cold, snow-covered land and began immediately to look at their new surroundings.

"Where are we?"

"I haven't the foggiest, Iris... but at least there don't seem to be any of those shadow creatures stalking about." The old man observed. He then glanced towards the doors. "Hm? My, that's a bit odd..."

Iris suddenly began tooking around rather worriedly, as though she had misplaced an article of supreme importance. The graying professor noticed this and asked about it.

"My hammer... I can't find it! I had it in my hand when we went through the portal, but now it's gone!"

"Well, it must be around here somewhere, my dear. After all, if we made it through that rift in one piece I'm certain that our belongings..." Vates' voice trailed off as he became aware of a sinking suspicion that something of his was missing as well. He quickly began searching through his many pockets after apparently failing to find what he sought on his belt.

"Uncle?"

"Confound it all, this certainly can't be right. I'm sure I didn't... no, I must have them somewhere..."

"You're missing something too?"

"Ach, don't make me say it, dear. Grr... this, this is absurd! I had them right before we entered... gah!" He exclaimed, quickly becoming agitated.

"Your... marbles?" Iris offered, taking a guess what her eccentric uncle had lost. Vates groaned, then let out a long sigh.

"Yes, my marbles." His voice was low, as though he didn't want to be heard saying what he said next. "I... I've lost my marbles."
