Tilting her head slightly to the right, Mora pondered Guy's suggestion.
Sighing, she denied it. "Yeah, but... that's for after I get in shape. Once I can get to a decent, constant pace, I can work for the bigger stuff afterwards."
[OOC: Mora =/= Logic
FAIL.]

Guy just shook his head with a grin.
"All right all right," he said, getting a strong vibe from her that she didn't really have any exact triangle regiment or structured plan involved in this. "Then can I at least give you some advice?"

Mora paused.
Random Guy (almost literally) offering up advice?
...well, she'd already made enough bad "jumping to conclusions" mistakes for one day. Not worth the effort to mess up again.
"Sure." Mora nodded. "Go for it."

"Its the way you were running before," he explained. "Its... well first of all, its pretty good. You've had some formal training on that right?"

Mora froze.
And unfroze.
Shrugging, she said, "Nheh. Sorta."

"Oh really?" he asked, seeming a little surprised. "I was sure I saw some military influence in it."
The boy stroked his chin, as if trying to visualize what he'd watched before.

Mora promptly did an about face. Halfheartedly, she chuckled. "Military?" she asked in a rhetorical fashion.
With an air of wistfulness about her, Mora looked up slightly. Giving thought to something.
And then shook herself out of it, shoving her sweaty hair out of her face. "Heh. I doubt it.
"Well..." turning back around, Mora continued, "I think I can safely say military's not the life for me. What gave off that impression?"

"I guess the rhythm of it," Guy confessed, still looking like he was picturing it in his head more than looking at anything in the present. "Like you'd seen a lot of army drills or something."
The teen gave up, closed his eyes, and shrugged while shaking his head.
"Oh well, can't win 'em all."

Mora nodded absently as she went to grab a water bottle.Gripping it, and taking a swig of it, she thought about how much more she'd have to work for.
Pulling the bottle down, Mora realized her only real issue was endurance. Hmm...
A thought came to her. It was stupid and silly. Not that it mattered...
Mora turned to face Guy. "Wanna race?"

"Oh?" the boy asked, a seeming a little surprised. "Are you sure? Actually, it might be a good way for me to show you what I'm trying to explain."
He seemed to warm up to it quickly enough, giving the girl two thumbs up.
"How much of a head start do you want?" he asked, apparently serious.

Mora barked out a laugh. "Hah! No head starts for me, thanks." Padding over to the track, she continued, "What makes you think the point's the winning?"
...
"So, do we just start, or d'you want to do the countdown thing?"

"Actually I was thinking that way you could get a good look at my running form the front and the back," Guy laughed. "But maybe I'll just use this as the chance to get a better look at your style."
He moved to the line as well beside Mora and took no starting stance at all, just looking over at her's as if studying.
"Threetwoonego!"

"Wha- hey!" Mora scrambled forward, pumping her legs and arms back and forth.
She kept her feet flat when they hit the ground. The more surface area you're pushing from, the better. Distributing the pressure, and all that.
Mora's arms stayed at ninety degree angles, and her hands loose. Funny thing about humans; they start to clench up and sweat more when their fists are smushed as one lump.
Back straight. Head forward. Mora pushed herself forward, towards Guy. No way was Mister Wise Guy gonna make a complete fool of her.
...heh. Wise... Guy. Hmm.

"Ah, you're really focusing on your form now. Good job," came a relaxed voice trialing behind and to the side of her. Guy hadn't started until Mora was already running so he was quite a bit behind. he didn't seem to be pay as much attention to his own form though.

Mora nodded curtly. She kept her mouth shut though, focusing on the run.
She knew how to run. She just didn't do it often enough to be able to keep it up.
...hadn't she said that? Maybe not the how, bit.
Dimly, Mora recognized that Guy was keeping pace easily with Mora. She mentally ground her teeth. Show-off.
...well, that wasn't rude. Calming down dramatically, Mora realized she was probably coming off on the snobbish side. Guess she doesn't get along with the "natural" kind of people by nature.
He seems like a nice enough guy. Silently chuckling, Mora cooled off on the speed. If she planned on actually finishing the race, she would need the energy she was burning.
She stuck to the form, though.
