A man in a black skinsuit up to his neck walked deep into the desert, seemingly ignoring the heat. "They should be around here somewhere..." He mused out loud, shaking his head. His messy, midlength black hair shook with the head. In the center of his suit on his chest was a yin-yang symbol, outlined in red.
Then, they appeared. The Bandit Heartless rose out of the sands as if summoned by his sentence. Prythian grinned, taking out a gray cylinder. A blade of yellow energy extended outwards.
Training had commenced.

The man in black would find he was not the only one prowling the wastelands that day. In the sky far overhead a figure would appear... actually several figures, though only one was human in appearance.
Magus had been ambushed by a pack of Heartless Wyverns, with three still in hot pursuit not far behind him. He flew away not so much to avoid the fight as to divide and conquer; these few had been closest and best able to keep up, and now he was busy showing them the business end of his scythe.
One charged him suddenly, but he met it with a flash of ice magic directed at its wings, sending the half-frozen Heartless plummeting to the ground. It would recover, but not before swooping low over the battle just beginning far below.

Prythian was intent on battling the Bandit Heartless surrounding him, entering into an intense swordfight. He almost didn't notice the Wyvern swooping above him, if it hadn't been for the sudden whoosh of wind and the stirring of the sands. He slipped past the Bandit he was currently fighting, dispatching it with a well-placed blow to the head, and then took the risk to glance up.
Another fighter. Well, well... and he could fly. Prythian smiled a bitter smile at that thought, dashing forwards and concentrating... but the most he could manage of what he planned was a ring of sparks temporarily appearing behind him and disappearing. This technique would be harder to master than he'd thought. "Hya!" He cried out, as much as battle cry as a cry to the flying warrior.

The flash of energy down below caught the mage's attention, distracting him momentarily from his own foes -- just long enough for one of the Wyverns to slam into him head-first. The blow sent him reeling, and falling, as gravity took hold in absence of his broken focus. Magus was just in time to see the Wyvern he'd frozen moments earlier come screeching up towards him, talons extended. He dodged, narrowly, and nicked the creature with a side-swipe from his scythe as he continued to descend.
He was quickly realizing that the air was their domain, and he was unlikely to overwhelm them where they held the advantage. As he neared the ground a circular wave of air swept the ground, his descent slowed and allowing him a safe landing.
Magus glanced over at the black-clad man and the Heartless he was fighting. A possible ally?
The Wyverns were sweeping down at him now like hawks. He'd have to move fast to avoid being their next meal.

"Not quick enough in the air?" Prythian called out, seeing him fall as he continued fighting. "Use your surroundings!" He suited actions to words, using his feet to kick sand into the face of the Bandit he was fighting, temporarily blinding it before he delivered a series of rapid kicks to it, finishing off with a roundhouse kick to the head. "After all, training isn't much good if you don't survive to benefit from it!" He grinned, leaping into another bunch of Bandits for intense swordfighting.

"True indeed!" Magus called back. The man had a good point... and Magus knew just how to put a strong spin on it.
The Wyverns were circling him now, darting down from above in attempts to catch him off guard. As he executed some quick footwork to avoid their claws, the mage readied a spell and then unleashed it all around him. A circle of fire, filled from one end to another with flames, erupted with Magus at its center, and in the dry and sandy wasteland the heat from the flames send fiery particles flying up from the ground like ashes at a bonfire. The effect quite literally blinded the draconic Heartless, giving Magus a chance to switch his regular scythe out for Dream Reaper and cleave one of their number right in half.

"Impressive." Prythian noted, as if speaking to himself. His blood sang with battle right now, so he was more open than he'd normally be. "Allow me to show some flame of my own." He jumped back out of the ground, gaining a little distance. "This hand of mine is burning red!" He held up his right hand in a fist, the back of the hand facing outwards. The crest of the King of Hearts appeared glowing on it. "Its loud roar tells me to grasp victory! Erupting Burning Finger!" He charged forwards again, his hand glowing red with heat. He let loose with a punch that hit three Bandits in a row across the face, stunning them. ((Note: Burning Finger Theme))

(OOC: Unfortunately I have to go to bed after this post -- my dad's flying out to Missouri tomorrow to drive my brother back from college, and I'll probably need to get up early and see him off. I'll definitely see to continuing this tomorrow morning, though.
Burning Finger, eh? Well, that's... different. xD)
'A capable warrior.' Magus thought to himself upon seeing the man's attack. Perhaps this could work in his favor...
Without hesitating, a quick burst of flight brought him over to where the man in black was. Magus landed alongside him, still facing the Wyverns. "Unfortunately, I didn't come out here looking for practice. These things ambushed me on my way back to my castle." He cast a glance towards the red-handed fighter. "Would you be willing to assist me?"

"As soon as I finish off this group." Prythian said, nodding. "And now... Heat End!" Three explosions sounded in the air as the Heartless he had hit were each engulfed in an explosion, consuming the remaining Heartless in the closed-in group. He turned around as they disappeared, facing the Heartless. "This should be a piece of cake." He said, holding up his energy sword, ready to battle.
((Let's just say I love G Gundam. XD))

Magus nodded, bringing Dream Reaper to the ready. "I appreciate it. Beware, the rest of their number could arrive at any time."
Screeching, the Wyverns charged the two warriors, spiraling through the air as dark energy trailed from their bodies.

"Keep them gathered together and I'll take them all out at once." Prythian said. He didn't say this in a bragging tone, but merely a matter-of-fact tone. He dodge the attack, throwing himself to the side and rolling across the sands. He rolled back up to a standing position, facing the Wyverns.
"In the name of the King of Hearts!" He held up his hand in a fist position again, the back facing outwards like before. The King of Hearts crest didn't merely glow, it was shining bright, sending the red light out from the crest. Prythian's hair and suit turned yellow and yellow light filled his eyes, the crest outshining it as he held up the hand. It was almost possible to feel pure strength coming off of him.

(OOC: Sorry I've been away from this for a while. What time is good for you to RP?)
Magus too dodged to one side of the spiraling strike, lashing out with his reaper's blade at the creature as it passed. The Wyvern screeched in anguish from the strike and the spiral cuts it left all over it's body. It tried to retaliate with its claws, but Magus pushed it back towards its kin with a rapid flurry of scythe strokes.

((Usually around this time, varying from earlier to later, usually later. It doesn't appear to be convenient for you, though.))
"This hand of mine glows with an awesome power!" Prythian held his hands outwards to his sides as a large white glow appeared around them. "Its burning grip tells me to defeat you!" He curled his right one into a fist and slammed it into his other hand in front of him, and the white glow grew into a large white sword of energy about 2 feet long. "Take this! My love, my anger, and all of my sorrow!" He slashed at the air a few times, as if testing the blade, but all the time he glared at the Wyverns, emotions coursing through his eyes and his crest blazing.
He held the sword up above his head, pointing straight up. "Shining Finger Sword!" The energy sword grew thicker and larger, expanding outwards into a giant beam of energy 20-feet long, keeping the same proportions as its smaller form. "Go! Go! Go!" He dashed past Magus, wielding the sword expertly. Each time it hit a Wyvern, it obliterated them, slicing them in half and incinerating some of them.
When the Wyverns were eliminated, Prythian stood still, the sword dissolving and disappearing.

"Impressive."
Magus had stood at a distance and watched his ally's assault tear the Wyverns to ribbons. He had to give the man credit, his power was not to be underestimated. Now that the enemies were, for the moment, defeated, he approached and extended one hand.
"You have my gratitude. My name is Magus. What exactly are you doing out in these barrens?"

Prythian shook Magus's hand as the gold he'd transformed into disappeared. He foresaw no threat coming, so saw no need to remain in the battle mind. "My name is Prythian. If you must know, I was training. My fighting style has some flaws, and I am attempting to have my power grow enough to master a new technique that I am unable as of yet to use." He explained. "Many of my attacks are very frontal assaults, as you have seen."
