What-- what?!
Aleasa Harper-- better known as Aly-- was in serious trouble.
Heartless trouble.
STEP, STEP, STEP... bwu-- WAHH!
Aly came to a screeching halt on the empty avenue in Hollow Bastion, with her face on the floor.
Well, street.
Her face was frenzied. Wierd black creatures following chasing her was not good! Not good at all!
Shoving the ponytail over her shoulder, Aly twisted around and backed up as she looked over the trailers.
A mass of Heartless. Shadows, Darkballs, and other things she didn't even know the names of...
Hyperventilating, Aly started to back up. And up. And u-- against a wall. Dang!
No way was she gonna be able to get out past the things. Dang dang!
Aah... what-- what-- what do I do?! she thought.

This place reminds me of Traverse Town... thought the warrior, his thoughts being private for once. Mocko was at the marketplace, exchanging tales of valor and glory with the local moogles. He had many tales to tell, though Enaad knew he'd find some way to exaggerate it. Mocko always blew everything about od proportion. It was just in his character.
With each heavy step, the keyblade warrior noticed that shadows glided from under his feet, skidding across the ground in 2-dimensions. They were coming after him... Black sparkles appeared in Enaad's hand as the keyblade generated. He was used to fighting even more since he got this thing... The damned weapon did everything to get him into fights...
But, they never appeared. They were gathering, somewhere. This isn't good... The stony man ran forward, his keyblade in hand. A small group of shadows were forming around a little girl.
"...Damnit." he uttered. Leaping forward, the warrior threw his keyblade in front of the girl. It started hovering in front of her, guarding the girl from any swipes the heartless attempted.
In the absence of the legendary weapon, the warrior summoned the Gunsaw. He landed in the midst of the group, slicing at the beasts with powerful ferocity. Children were so annoying...

"W-what?" Aly's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of a floating weapon in front of her.
And then continued to the size of dinner plates at the sight of the man just... blasting through the Heartless.
He's... strong. she thought with surprise. Her eyes then skimmed over the weapon floating in front of her.
The Heartless-- they weren't getting past it. So it was a shield? Actually, she realized with no small amount of surprise, it kinda looks like a key.
Aly's respect for her savior very nearly went out the window right then and there as some small part of her grew angry, resentful, about the whole blasted situation. She was so... so useless.
Useless.
...
Eyes aflame (metaphorically), Aly gritted her teeth and moved to call Cwen out.
BAMF!
"Dwuaaah!" she shouted in surprise. She regretted it right afterwords. Sure, she's 13... but that doesn't mean she's stupid. Some Heartless fool, a smaller one (a Shadow, I think...) had tried to swipe at Aly anyway.
Aly lost her train of thought as she fell back into hyperventilating and watching her newfound savior go about bashing Heartless.

Kicking the last of the heartless into oblivion, the keyblade-master stood tall as the gunsaw disappeared from his hand. His face was dry, lacking of all signs of exhaustion. This fight had taken nothing out of him, Enaad could go, literally, days of fighting without any pause. The keyblade gave him more will and determination than what he already had.
The warrior took a deep breath in pause. "Get up." Though unemotional and rather terse, Enaad knew it reassured the girl that she was safe.
He motioned for the girl to stand, looking around for a moment, checking for any more suspicious shadows...

Hesitantly, mainly out of awe at the spectacle of massive Heartless death, Aly rose to her feet. All the while, she looked over her overpowered(?) hero. Surreptitiously, of course. Doing otherwise would be rude!
Maybe everyone is just this kind of powerful, Aly thought. That Prythian guy could blow Heartless up by touching them... and then this guy just mows them down.
Not that she cared! No! No, that would involve accepting the situation! She couldn't do that! Not while there was still hope. Hopefully. Aah....
Aly brought her hand up and out to the stranger. "T-thanks." she managed to get out, with a shy smile. "How... how did you do that?" she asked, with no small amount of wonder.

Enaad stared at the hand for a moment. She was thirteen. Young. Childish and Immature. He chuckled for a moment, thinking that she did not even know the meeting of a handshake. It was rather inappropriate for the situation, but the stony-faced warrior gave the hint of a grin at the sign of courtesy. Everything he had seen these past few years was chaos.
All... chaos.
This sudden change of thought brought about the answer to the young, somewhat awkward question. The warrior put his hands in his pocket. "Strength comes from striving for what you want most... My strength comes from my want to survive."
The air shifted, and the wind blew. A leave was going for the girl's delicate face. The man caught it with his hand. "The secret in striving, however, is always doing it. Never budge, never stop."

Aly let the hand drop to her side as the warrior let the opportune moment pass. Awkward...
Gripping her right arm with her left, Aly's face took on a curious pose... and maybe a little envious. This is what life's like out here. If, if I'm going to be sticking around...
No. she thought. I won't accept it! There's gotta be something for-- to do!
Even so, what he'd said had some effect... what did Aly want? To strive for?
She didn't know.
"Y-yeah. Strive. Got it." Aly jerked her head to the left, and away from the hand holding the leaf. That was just too... too...
Uhm. "Oh, uh, I'm Aly."
...yyyyeaaaahno. This wasn't much for conversation.
"You, uh... you think you could... show me a few tricks? Or something..."
