Azure eyes gazed out over the street below, a smirk playing across his lips. These Heartless were so predictable, always showing up in the exact same spot every time someone walked by. It had become a routine, these days, for him to stand here and look over one of the many spots in Radiant Garden, slaying the beasts whenever they decided to rear their ugly heads. But as it turns out, Ronan had gotten cocky. While he was caught up with his boasting within the depths of his own mind, he failed to notice the beasts leap up into the air and attack someone who happened to be walking by. Blade in hand, the samurai leaped down to the ground, sending the monsters away with a flurry of slashes before turning to the stranger. "You okay? You might wanna be more careful next time."

“T-thanks mister,” stammered the child, his eyes wide. His mother had warned him not to wander off, and he’d almost been attacked by those monsters! Tears welled in his eyes and he scampered off towards his home. “Mommy,” he cried out, and a woman opened the door of a nearby house. “Oh, darling, what happened?” she asked as the boy rushed into her arms. She brought him inside, brightening his face with the mention of cookies and milk.
“That was pretty cool,” said Hotaru, leaning on her staff. She was about to fend of the Heartless when the dark-haired stranger had stepped in. It had looked cool, for sure – someone jumping off a building to protect a kid. “I think people forget that the security system here can’t always protect them, y’know?”

Smirking over at the newcomer, Ronan sheathed his blade, letting his hands fall to either side. It'd felt good to help the kid, of course, but the samurai couldn't take all the credit for killing the Heartless every time they showed up. It was due in part to luck. For all he knew, the creatures could show up... well, anywhere, really, but they always managed to appear right in front of him. How convenient.
"Eh. Can't really trust the security. Seems the Heartless just walk right on by anyway. Sure, it throws them up in the air a little bit. Big whoop. I'm Ronan." He stated, chuckling a little bit at his own summary at the crap that they called a 'security system'. Cracking his knuckles, he plopped himself on the side of the road, pulling an ice cream that he had bought minutes earlier from his pocket. Slightly melted, but that was okay. Realizing that eating something in front of someone without food was, of course, quite rude, he looked over at the stranger again. "Sorry. You want one?"

“Oh, no thanks,” replied Hotaru politely. Yet...she looked at the ice cream longingly. She loved any sort of dessert – ice cream included. Childishly, even though it was she that had refused, she pouted.
Hotaru had just been wandering around aimlessly. This wasn’t the first time she’d been in Radiant Garden, so it wasn’t all that exciting. For whatever reason she’d ended up here, though, so she planned to spend the day. Hoping something interesting would happen. So, since she had nothing better to do, and being an outgoing person herself, Hotaru found herself a place to sit down near the man.
“So, what brings you to Radiant Garden? Or is this where you live?” she asked in her usual cheery voice. Her eyes were on the clouds, looking for recognizable shapes. “I’m Hotaru, by the way.”

Eyebrow quirked as he attempted to come up with a somewhat intricate response, Ronan only vaguely noted this woman's appearance. Not only was she wearing what would pass as the 'typical' garb for a traveler, she just had that air of experience about her, as though she had seen, and done, quite a bit in her life thus far. As for why he was here, Ronan wasn't entirely sure. Yeah, he came here rather often to lay the beatdown on some Heartless, but he usually left that to the Restoration Committee. After all, they seemed to love doing so. Therefore, why the hell would he not just let them go crazy. It wasn't his job to fight the Heartless. No, he did it by choice. But something had told him that he should return on this particular day.
And perhaps it had been a good idea. After all, he had met this fascinating girl, Hotaru, as she proceeded to inform him, and talking to her provided a welcome distraction from the rut that he seemed to have fallen into. Visit world, kill Heartless, move on. It's all he had found himself doing, and he was getting kind of tired. "Well... I guess you could say I live here," Not entirely false, seeing as how he did have a home here, "But I travel alot. What brings you here?" He proceeded to ask, meeting the female's gaze. She looked as though she was the type that didn't dwell in one place for long. Rather, one of those bubbly girls that went about their business looking back. But hey, you can't just judge a person right away, now can you?
