Ange suggested something much weaker and I'm not sure it'd be passed either. Now *if* you started off with a *weak* ability (2AP) and tried to sell this as a high-growth class that tapered off after X number of purchases you might be able to make it sound credible. As it is, it's like a canon character on steroids because you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Though it should be noted that since we emphasize everything else already, equips/items, even Summons and Minions, we should emphasize raw abilities to make it complete =/
We'd have to make it quite a bit fairer though since abilities are capable of much power.

Those were presented as alternatives to the existing system though. This one... well, I don't really see the nifty advantages of going with the usual character creation option if Champions could be chosen.

The Champion class is for elder characters who would naturally be more powerful than regular ones. For example, Yen Sid. He wouldn't be using any equip slots nor items, for he is a master of magic. Also, this would be a horrible class for anyone trying to make a character with support items or minions, for they would receive no amount of slots to do so.

The amount of characters who actually use minions as a non-tamer are few and far between, a quick glance at the marketplace tells me.
Giving someone access to three Strong level abilities from the get-go, and cheaper AP afterwards to boot sounds mighty... unbalanced.

How about we do a class that benefits Heartless or Nobodies, but not other characters? Such ways would be the ability to use certain Heartless or Nobody abilities (all abilities that are pre-made by the staff) in addition to the 10 AP they normally get. In return they pay an extra 1/3 on items and equips (this is all subject to change of course, just throwing stuff out there).

Do people use the Item shop at all? I think I saw Dante and Pryth buy Hero Potions... once. And that was a prelude to an arena battle or something. Tech characters nonwithstanding, I'm not sure I've seen anyone else purchase anything there, ever. Ange, could you give us an example? I'm not sure I see what you mean by that description. xD
