After the FLOP that was my Lovey Dovey contest (hate you guys), I've decided instead of reviving a dead horse, I'd ask you folk what contest you'd like to have next.
Themes, purpose, and maybe even a prize suggestion.

Hrm.... *rubs chin evilly* Keyblades are far too typical, in the I WANTZ! department... Some kind of magic-ish ability would be interesting, if properly devised, but that'd be related to the plot(s), rather than a contest prize, and therefore far to specific to be a prize of this kind, but feel free to prove me wrong. The only thing you can really offer for a contest of epic proportions is something appropriately huge, rather than something specific. So that'd be... uh, Summons, Keyblades, Keychains, or footing the bill for something specific someone has in mind that's appropriately epic. Less-than-epics would be Minions, a nice set of Equips (or a supah special one, custom made or not), or the Crystal Crown Equip. The Crystal Crown Equip is only capable of being gotten through Synthesis, and I'm getting the feeling that won't be happening too soon. Synthesis Materials aren't as proliferent as they should be. Some Orichalcum'd be interesting, but not enough to keep the crowd (YOU'RE ALL SO UNDEDICATED). Non-epics, and therefore non-plot related so as to have a short time and keep interest BLAH, I'm thinking plain ol' munny, Shop Coupons, Synthesis Materials... But for the real contest suggestions! X3 I'm pr'bly gonna stick to theme suggestions for now. xD Villains! - It's freaking hard to make and play a good villain, so to speak. The Great Finale - Plot that has the "main" character die. No Nobody appearance to substitute, or anything like that. A real ending for their story. Something that almost literally never happens to an RP character. xD Make a TV Commercial - Iunno. Random idea in the back of my head I've been saving for a Quest or something. Major laughs if successful. XD Fate of the World... nah. - Save the world, but have the main person destined to save the world be an NPC. Guaranteed to be strange. The Muse - It's not uncommon to see characters with artistic based abilities, like deadly paintbrushes, words from the book that devastate, or the accordion from the Black Lagoon, but after a while, they seem to kind of blend in. Trying to come up with something completely out there in this category would be interesting! For example... imagine someone lugging around a tuba everywhere they go. X3 Best Crazy Awesome Character on FM - [ Clicky ] DISCLAIMER: Site as a whole is not entirely appropriate, as far as language goes. So, yeah. Ideas off the top of my head.

I have several themes for different types of rps that the members here do.
For those who like fighting rps, why not create a new type of Olympus Cup Tournament? Call it the Olympian Cup. Set up preliminaries to weed out those who couldn't make it in the actual tournament, then have the actual tournament itself. The members should be given the choice of entering a singles or 3 man team Cup competition. Winner not only gets a special trophy, but marked as the top ranked Battle Arena fighter/team of the forum. And for a bigger prize what if you made it into a story where the winner becomes a full fledged Olympian or a demi-god like Herc?
For the adventure rpers I have thought of a contest to see who can write the best story that involves saving a Princess of Hearts. Members will reserve only one of the seven princesses and they have to create a rp thread or just a story post that shows them on a quest to save the princess from whatever danger she may or may not be in. Winner is judged on content, originality, and the skill to not bore the reader to death lol. The winner of the contest gets their story posted in a bulletin as an example of how an rp should be done.
For the quest rpers I couldn't really think of anything since thats the QMs job really :/. But I think a quest where the prize is a Limited Edition Quest MVP Equip which drops the level of difficulty down by one or two to whoever has it.
Fantasy Boss Fight. Members can create an rp where they fight or rp as a boss from the KH series. They have to rp as that boss they way the character would act, so it's very much like an aution post only more interactive instead of just one big post. Whoever has the most interesting boss battle, gets to automatically have that Boss as either a summon or a character [depending if the boss isn't a canon thats already taken.
Thats my two and a half cents.

Iunno about that there Quest Equip. My main concern for something like that would be if it was a group Quest-- that prson is't the only one.
It'd get wierd and complicated really freaking fast, and no one likes to feel like they're picking favorites. xD
Solo Quests, it might be an OK Equip.
...
But so that Pryth doesn't jump in here and whack us all, I'll add that it wouldn't likely work for Keyblade Quests.

You could just hand out 1000-1500 munny. Just sayin'.
I always thought the idea of secondary weapons with their own set of weak-moderate abilities would be cool, especially since characters really only have one go at weapon creation and it technically wouldn't take up an equip slot.
I don't think *anyone* buys the expensive items. Those would be a neat prize if only for the novelty. Dunno who would use it though. I mean, you're drinking away 2000 munny. xD
Ideas:
I always thought a deathfic contest would be cool. But that's just because I'm weird like that. XD
Alternately, a combat RP where people basically write their own self-contained tournament story would be neat - you'd be comparing two side-by-side stories and judge for story points, not combat ones.
Aka, Contestant A writes a post where Contestant A wins.
And then Contest B writes a post where Contestant B wins.
And then it's up to the judging to see who 'really' won. Short, sweet, no hassle BUT people who're used to posting long posts would probably be advantaged quite a bit. I'm not sure how to deal with that one. Divide into bite-sized chunks? I dunno. >>

Well I bought expensive things, keyblade wielder and dual wielder! But as for contest ideas, I'm fresh out at this point in time.
EDIT: Wait a sec, I'm not! We've done things like ability contests before, and those were vastly popular. Why not bring that back to life?

The Odd Couple Contest: Get two characters (Controlled by two seperate players, and no NPC's) that seem like polar opposites, and try and make them work together to become a dynamic team. The Death Knight and the Paladin; the Bruiser and the Ninja; the Psychologist and the Nihilistic Dictator Wanna-be. The more friction, the better!
Achille's Heel Contest: Put your characters in situations that put them at an inheirent disadvantage or takes advantage of their weak points. Acrophobic? Have them launched from a catapult. Can't fight without a sword in their hands? Introduce the Metal Eating Monster. Suffer from paralyzing stage fright? Did somebody say "Spontaneous casting in the lead role of a generic high school musical!"?
Get Over Yourself! Resolve an issue or unresolved plot point that's been haunting your character since day one. The fun part is afterwards, when people have to think about how a character can continue without their main driving force. Great for all the Emo Warriors out there with a Tragic Past!
Hidden Talent Competition Show us a hidden skill, and devote a plot point entirely to showcasing this new talent. Would have to be judged both on the quality of roleplay and how believable they make it that Grant the Swordsman of the Flame also sings counter-tenor for the Twilight Town Choral Society.
So those are some random ideas from your local random idea man. Um... kthxbye

How about a character modding contest? The staff will make profiles with subtle flaws and each member will individual PM a review of them as if they were modding it.

While a unique idea Akito, I'm not so sure that is a good idea. With staff activity the way it is right now, if you guys got a flood of pms, how many would actually be looked at, let alone read for critique.
Good idea, bad timing. Anyone else up for reviving the ability contest?

Actually, with activity as it is, I think there'd simply be very little participation. Maybe. *shrugs*
I'd go for it.
