It is mentioned on the character sheet that characters are supposed to start out with weak abilities, despite the 10 AP limit. I have never seen this done. Likewise, I think it is silly to force people to post a character sheet, then turn around and upgrade their abilities at the save spot immediately after being accepted.
So can that part be omitted? It just bugs me. xD
If you have the AP and want to simply start with one moderate and one strong ability, you should be able to do so.
Otherwise, cut back on the AP given, or reinforce this rule.

I dunno if it's because I'm about to fall asleep, or that I just don't know where it is, but I've read through the ability section and nowhere on the character sheet does it require you to start out with weak abilities. Are you talking about the template? The rules? I'm pretty sure we've edited all of the rules according to the updates.
So...specific quote needed.

Ack! Sorry about that. I got so wrapped up in the idea of it all that I failed to show any actual useful information. =/ Here's the quote from the Template:

Oho~ Sharp eye you got there, missy.
You know, I really have no idea why that is there. No recent rules has been changed to fit that. Old thing someone forgot to omit, more likely. It would make sense that whoever edited the profile forgot that tiny little sentence. Only goes to show how people dun follow the rules. XD
Anyway. I'll remove that from the template. Thanks for picking it up.
