I received an e-mail the other day titled "Remember when you said...", and I instantly knew what it was. Apparently Birth by Sleep will have a multiplayer mode in the game. The image I saw shows Terra, Ven, and Aqua in some room together in full armor fighting against some enemies. I like that they decided to put this in, especially since the multiplayer mode of 358/2 days was very successful. Anyone else have some thoughts or concerns about this?

I'm pretty sure it won't end up like that they haven't even released BBS yet so I doubt we'll see any news about a third Kingdom Hearts soon. But the TGS 2009 is coming up so who knows.

I agree, I can't imagine both Disney and SE would let this fall through the cracks.
edit: The wait does make me wonder if it won't stay exclusive to PS3. Just a hunch.

It doesn't matter much to me considering my brother has a 360 and PS3. And if it somehow goes on Wii then we have that covered too. I just don't want to wait as long as I did for Twilight Princess.

Yeah, somehow I see the Wii as being impossible....granted if it does, I'm really worried how much they comprised to do that. KHII was a drop off of the quality from KH as much as I want to see. And we are all older....who knows.
Anyway, to the topic, multi-player is an interesting aspect in this series. Hopefully it's explored well.

If it's anything like it was on the DS mixed with Dissidia, then I doubt we will be disappointed.

Gameinformer said that 358/2 Days's multiplayer was a complete failure. Where do you see it being a success?
Square Enix can't do multiplayer. Why? Because it's a RPG company. Unlike most successful companies, Square Enix has one niche. They need to learn to stay in that niche or else they will fall.

Oh just no names like Famitsu, Game Spot, Nintendo Power to name a few. Plus I remember reading that Japan KH fans enjoyed the multiplayer mode more than the actual game itself. But I was never the one to care for reviews of these places, I tried it myself and I enjoyed playing it even though I didn't know alot about the customization since it was all in Japanese. Multiplayer was my favorite part of the game even though my brother always won.

I still think SE should stick to their niche. They've tried leaving it before, and it never works out. It's amazing that KH was so good.

I still think SE should stick to their niche. They've tried leaving it before, and it never works out. It's amazing that KH was so good. - Real Time Strategy titles including, but not limited to: Hanjuku Hero, Front Mission, Order of War, etc.
- Fighting/Action Games: Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring, Dissidia, Bushido Blade, etc.
- Manga: Zombie Loan, Bamboo Blade, Spiral, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, Fullmetal Alchemest, etc.
- Other Games: Einhander, ActRaiser, LostWinds etc.
- Famous Associates: Nobuo Uematsu, Akira Toriyama, etc.
I haven't covered nearly covered everything, but I think that's enough. I'd hardly qualify Square Enix as a niche group. They're successful elsewhere as well. ^__^
A KH with multiplayer does seem odd to me. I'm used to playing with one or two back-seat drivers. I can picture my friends being kill-stealing jerks.

SE does shooting games and movies so-so to down right terrible. Everything else they manage to keep at a consistent level (boring as that can get). Of course they occasionally get everything right, but that's just the nature of the business.
