What kind of weapon...

I was talking to a friend and he asked me what type of weapon i saw him personally using. Which got me thinking. I asked him what he thought i would use and he said either sword or fists.

I want to see what people think other people would wield. The idea of this thread is to list atleast two but no more than five weapons that you think the poster above you would use, and provide a general reason why you choose the weapons. If you dont know what to choose dont post for that person. You can't post for the same person more than once.

After thorough consideration, and discarding the notion of physical impossibilities regarding aptitude in handling a weapon or the sheer impossible the Laws of Physics throw in our face, I put forward my thoughts. Please do not take offense if my observations do not mirror your own image, and try to remember that I approach any subject with an unhealthy dose of eccentric humour.

The spectrum of weapons I choose from is infinite in appearance, yet finite if we assume I only select weapons previously suggested to be in existence by other sources. That said...


Bo Staff
A lengthy weapon. Where it lacks in direct lethal force, it makes up for this with the possibility to be wielded both defensively as well as offensively. It is more readily available than other armaments. Some anime would have us believe a gem mounted on these serve exceptionally well as a conduit of magical power. I digress.

I select this weapon based on what I have and can read of you right now. I do not see an individual committed to a single thing. The bo staff is an excellent tool for offensive, defensive and recreational ends. You lack the fierceness about you that I would expect of one to use a more lethal weapon, and likewise you lack the heroic air a sword would suggest to me. No, this weapon would suit you just grand, but if you deem a single option to be too limiting, I shall present you an alternative.

Namely, the Pike. The medieval weapon of choice for infantry to use. Like its long-lost cousin the Bo Staff, it is a weapon utilisable for both defensive as offensive purposes, although it may serve you better in the former.

Again, this is based on a lack of ferocity in your posts and general appearance. Your characters may suggest a more defensive-oriented fight style.

Finally, and while I personally believe this does not base itself on actual aptitude or appropriaty in the use of the weapon, thrust into a magical world where you can wield any weapon, you may opt for the Sword, because you've got that entire dreamer-thing going. If you'd drop into an alternate world and turned out to be a badarse sword-wielder, no doubt you'd be an anime protagonist, or at least a supporting character.

Despite which, I do not think the sword will be an incredibly useful weapon in your hands. Perhaps comical relief would suit you.

Amari: A spear. Perhaps not a pike, because that seems too long to me, but something of equal shape.

Trap: Something tricky, something sneaky. I have something stuck in my mind when it comes to you. If you've played Rayman: Hoodlum Havoc, you know. It begins with a wrist brace, a chain is hooked to it, and wrapped around it. A metal, spring-loaded claw (cartoon beartrap style) is fixed to your wrist, and with the pull of a trigger it it fires off and when it impacts or reaches it's maximum length the claw clamps, whichever comes first. It can also emit a serious electric shock, but needs a conductor (such as blood) to do so. Draw it back in via chain and motorized wrist brace, wash rinse repeat.
For some reason I see you concealing it under an extra long sleeve.
Just what I see, not much further explanation.

I see shoni using the cold hard power of reverse psychology. I see Kempff using happy tree friends (the web site), and I see myself using the katana. It just seems to be the weapon of choice for me eight out of ten times for characters, and it requires a bit more ferocity then some other weapons. And I'm more or less fierce. More or less.
