Saya is a world with a government similar to the early Fuedal system. There is no king or church however, just the Nobles, Magician Guard, and commoners. In the beginning, all were equal, and had equal shares in money and food. However, a group of people in charge of distribution decided they wanted more than others, and thus the Magician Guard was created. Needing others to defend them, the Magicians decided to pay others, and the Nobles were created. The way the current world is set, the Nobles and Magicians Guard are equal in power, while the commoners have no extra say in politics.
Punishments vary depending upon which class you are in, for example a Noble striking a Commoner is normal, while the opposite would land you in prison. Stealing from any class is frowned upon, and will also land you in prison if you are caught.

Physical appearance ~ : Standing at 5'11", Rolt is built fairly well, as he tends to spend a lot of time swimming. His eyes have a gentle blue-green hue, which he received from his mother. His hair is sandy-brown in color, growing down to about mid-bicep in length. When he speaks, Rolt's voice is calm.
Clothing/Accessories ~ : Rolt typically wears leather, finding it useful in many environments.
Rolt wears a leather vest, and on the back are chains linked together protecting his spine. On top of this, unless he is getting into trouble, Rolt wears a ragged knee-length coat that he stitched together himself. His pants are similarly of leather, with numerous pockets. His shoes are dark in color, so as to match the rest of his outfit.
On his left hand is a ring with a stone matching the color of his eyes. This ring was a gift from a mentor of his, and he considers it one of his most valuable treasures. Before he sleeps, Rolt removes the golden necklace from around his neck and slips it through the ring, putting it back on too keep it safe throughout the night.

Behavior ~ : Rolt tends to be a calm, quiet person, and usually keeps to himself. Though he dislikes the Nobles from his homeworld, he will not openly start a fight without proper justification. Things don't tend to upset him very much, however it may still happen. Rolt is an outdoors type person, as when growing up he would spend much of the day out of his house, typically leaving early and returning late. When he isn't doing anything else, Rolt tends to think to himself, and as a result he has learned to think ahead, and can view two sides of an argument.

Under his vest, Rolt carries your typical throwing daggers, and as he likes to stay at a distance, uses these as his primary means of defense. The daggers themselves are not very large, the blade of each being approximately 6 inches in length.

This sword was given to Rolt by his good friend and mentor, Basate Helmon, when he passed away. As he tends to stay away from close-quarter combat, Rolt only uses this sword when he has to, and as such, the blade has stayed sharp. The sword has a blade approximately 3 feet in length, with the blade being about 3 inches wide. The handle is wrapped in velvet, the guard being made of silver, both a sign of nobility.

Spending much of his time outdoors as a child has given Rolt advanced perceptions. His senses are generally better than normal, allowing Rolt to hear or see people coming from farther away, and teaching him how to walk lightly.

Rolt was born in the City of Alegoria, in the world of Saya. He was of Common blood, thus his parents and expectations in life were normal. Rolt liked to spend time wandering in the forest near his home, and swimming in the lake that was there. Occasionally he would wander into town and just walk around, watching the actions of others.
On one such outing, when Rolt was 10, he witnessed a Noble stealing food from a Commoner's stall. The Noble was caught, but proceeded to push the blame onto an innocent Commoner nearby. Rolt quietly followed the Noble, and decided to confront him when they were alone as to not cause a scene. When confronted, the Noble was asked why he framed an innocent man, and he completely denied it, getting angry at Rolt for even bringing it up. Rolt, angered by the lie that landed an innocent person in prison, grabbed a stick and hit the man as he was walking away. The Noble was angered even more by this, and proceeded to beat Rolt. He was injured for about a month, however his parents decided not to do anything about it since Rolt struck first.
Rolt had a disliking for Nobility, but would still give them a chance to make a good impression. Around the time he turned 11, Rolt made a Noble friend from the neighboring city of Ke'Dall, by the name of Basate Helmon. The two were very close, however lost contact when Basate was recruited into the Nobles' army. Rolt, since the incident when he was 10, had been framing Nobles for theft as a way to get back at the corrupt. This went on for a few years, with Rolt stealing an object from one Noble and placing it in the possession of another, thus landing him in prison. When Rolt was 15 years old, he was caught on one such outing, and sent to a prison. As per the procedure, a set group from the Magician's Guard viewed his past, and saw that many of the Nobles that were in prison were framed by Rolt. They were released, and a movement was made to execute Rolt.
Basate, still remembering Rolt, overheard this, and decided to hear Rolt's side of the story. Seeing as how the only way he could talk to Rolt was to break him out, he decided to follow his memories of his friend and break him out. Rolt explained his situation, and while Basate did not agree with him, he still had no choice but to keep running, as they were both wanted criminals.
Rolt was surprised at Basate's actions, however after one instance where he was defended against an attack of guards, decided to have Basate teach him to fight. Rolt quickly learned how to swordfight, and how to use throwing weapons, finding the latter to be more his style. A few months after Rolt's 17th birthday, the two were sparring when they were ambushed by several guards. Basate was killed in the battle, and Rolt finished the guards. During Basate's last moments, he passed on his sword and ring to Rolt.
After the previous event, Rolt's hatred towards Nobles for their ruthlessness grew exponentially. He decided to take revenge on those that had caused it, and the combination from such strong rage and corruption of the political system caused a door to open outside of the town. Only a few Heartless came through at first, but the numbers grew quickly as the days went by...
As Rolt was devising a new plan to get revenge on the Nobles. He decided to empty their stores, but upon breaking in, found a small gummi ship. Not knowing what it was, he decided he would come back later. Upon exiting the building, Rolt was confronted by several guards, and a fight broke out. Soon, the brawl was interrupted by darkness taking over the sky, and swarms of heartless searching for more darkness to take with them. Sensing Rolt's hate and the Nobles' corruption, the heartless were drawn to this location. Rolt watched in fear as the guards were overtaken by the many mysterious creatures, and decided to run.
Heading inside the building, He decided the best escape would be to find out what the mysterious ship was for. The key was in, so why not give it a shot? Rolt turned the ship on, and began his ascent to the stars. Not knowing how to control it, Rolt began pressing numerous buttons, which in turn accidentally set a course for Traverse Town...
