Dear Friends of FM,
At this time it appears the last choice from me is to request I be banned after the posting of this thread. However, this is not due to an event in my life, due to grades, or a lack of time; all of it has to do with FM itself.
The goodbits done first! For those truthful, kind, honest, and empathetic members I knew here, you are all pleasant, decent human beings. You are aware of who you are. Whether I had a little fight or was a jerk to you at one point, I have come to see most members of FM are generally these kinds of people. We all have our blemishes and are equally lazy at different times, yet despite our majority, the vocal few, unlike ourselves, are so powerful and influential here it is embarrassing. Oi vey.
Before I proceed, you few know who you are. And you few also do not realize just how much I am aware of your going on’s in this forum. The luxury of observation has given me a novel on your attempts to take power, complain, backstab, filibuster new suggestions, keep your power, appeal to ban members, constantly message admin over who insults you or does not act like you, clear nepotism, fix promotions, incapable of doing your job on any normal timeline, the list is endless practically. Yet, what is most common amongst you? You could not work on a team or even act like you work on team to save your life. How blind you are to this reality is mind numbing, so much that you could not help yourselves if you begged for it.
There have been plenty of you lot on here since this forum began. Which, the topic of this forum’s beginning is amazingly not shared often enough (though I suspect hoping for an unbiased account would be a crapshoot). When it is though, you few pamper it like your own constantly growing egos, embossing and glorifying events to a level that no one actually cares for. Before I address you few, the roots of where the lot of you began is necessary. For the first time ever, I will provide an unbiased account of how FM came to be…(history ends 10 paragraphs down)
On another forum called KHRPF, Kingdom Hearts Role-playing Forum, the original creators and members of FM, story begins there. On that forum, Colleen (the main admin) and her staff hold a lenient, but effective control of their members. On average the forum may have 40-60 members active, in which general boards are widely used and RP boards are at times neglected. Generally, there is a level of immaturity, and it may be hard to at first join the forum; KHRPF is aimed at young teens while including a few older teens. Despite this, the member base continues to grow and keep the status quo in check at most times. There are several differences between KHRPF and FM however: KHRPF has a very lax policy on what is canon and what is not, and thus what is acceptable in a KH rp. KHRPF staff often ask for consent from members in policy change, in which a majority opinion will win out. KHRPF also has a plethora of boards, threads for rules, etc. KHRPF rp is not nearly as “serious” or battle focused as FM is. And so our common architects came into play.
Avenger, Wilder, Kabuto, Darkfire, Medy, and a few more; mostly names gone by. Some had positions as staff, some were normal members, yet all were equally unhappy and dissatisfied with the state of KHRPF. They preferred a RP forum that was more serious than the current one; they wanted RP that had an emphasis on battle. By all accounts they were a minority to a much larger majority. Their chances of changing KHRPF were small, and the fighting and bickering that happened was a dreary, unhappy period. It was Avenger that would become the beacon leader of what was once called the “Great Split”, and when it happened KHRPF was more than a little shocked, but perhaps a great bit relieved.
The members listed above as well as others, sent out a message in secret that a new forum would be made that would be different than KHRPF. They continued to do so until it was announced the move was official, and by then there was no going back. FM was created and the dissatisfied of KHRPF now had a home of their own.
From my own perspective, KHRPF and FM are two ideals on opposite ends of a spectrum. Where KHRPF is open to all and rides no laurel except that it is the “original” KH RP forum, FM chose to bestow itself as THE Elite KH forum and one of the best on the net. This is the key to understanding the individuals that left KHRPF and why they left, and most likely why their departure was welcome. They complained, they did not work together; they created a generally miserable atmosphere on that forum. Did KHRPF fail to deliver RP to them? Did it infringe their ability to type? Was there are rule that their RP was not accepted? No. The standards were not their preference. Naturally, they left to create their own forum that would appeal to these needs.
And naturally, they brought with them the fighting, bickering, inability to work together, ego’s, and haughty air of up and coming authors (irony intended). While KHRPF may have similar concerns, it has shown over time to keep itself running without a drop off of activity! KHRPF has shown over time that it’s formula for success works and continues to bring in new members.
That FM has had five actual periods of administrative policy, tells everything. There was the beginning, V1-version one which lasted nine months under Avenger’s watch before inactivity and member infighting brought it to a halt (Avenger closed the forum). Despite its end, V1 embodied everything FM aspired to be and dreamed of, activity was often and members generally got along. A collaboration of egos does not exist however, and V1 ended. Then V2 came, and Avenger once again was the admin, and in nearly the same amount of time, Avenger left. V2 was much like the first version, but many of the original members were gone and the beginning of FM becoming a carbon copy of KHRPF, began. This departure was sudden, and Iris and Simba, were made admin. By all accounts, this decision was the most costly of all to FM. Avenger gave no warning and talked with no others members on his decisions of who to promote.
Iris, the now defunct and MIA head admin started on FM at the same time I did, late V1 directly after most of the staff disappeared for an assortment of reasons. She devoted her time feverishly to the forum and slowly became comfortable, and as this happened she became known as reliable. However, Iris was and is not a person to confront people, or come to swift decisions in punishment. Simba, came from KHRPF and remained an active member on FM, albeit with periods of inactivity and at times lacking to do his jobs. Simba had a real vision of what he wanted to do, and from this conflict occurred between the two. The result was a dual adminship that could not please itself or the members. And who caused this to occur? Avenger. Unfortunately, members from the beginning paint him in a light as if he can do no wrong since he embodies the very ideals they believe to this day concerning how FM is run and what it stands for. His choice to promote two members out of the blue, doomed the third period of administration on FM. Without its original leader and vision, many original members returned to their roots of complaining and bickering.
Eventually, one of the two admin stepped out of a frail partnership. Simba, having lost all desire and “muse”, left, and thus Iris was left with FM. For a limited time Iris attempted to manage the forum on her own, yet this was inconceivable, that she could adhere to all of the needs and desires of the member body. (This period was a time of rampant chaos and disorder, and in itself is perhaps a sixth period of administration, yet the mass inactivity and departure of members will leave it a “dark age” of sorts for FM. Indeed, the forum almost died twice during this time.) Bilby, a long time member of FM stepped up and helped Iris as he could, shifting between Admin and GM, and then Forum advisor. Perhaps unknown to most members, Prythian/Xero became support for Iris and helped her more effectively manage the forum, though his position was not altogether in place to do so. As time went on, his aid waned and he returned to doing his QM position chiefly.
The fourth period began when Iris appointed Highwind as co-admin. Once again, mass anger and bickering occurred, several members were outraged, and several members left. The few banned members in FM history, mainly come from this period. Highwind came from KHRPF and kept to herself on V1, held a mod position and was generally active. Highwind maintained activity and loyalty to FM, and was a understandable choice to become an admin. This co-adminship yielded a resurgence of activity and Rping familiar to V1, though it also gave witness to an ever increasing mod number and “special members”. Yet, the constant messaging and nagging, pleading, and fighting wore on the two admin who were determined to make the forum “work”. Iris as of now has become a non-existent admin for no particular reason. High has maintained activity in large part due to the head admin’s inactivity.
Thus we have the fifth period of FM, and administration, the period of which this announcement will succinctly end at the moment of its posting. FM is in a major state of flux and everyday Iris remains gone, the forum becomes slightly more unhinged. Yet, never has in the history of FM, a long term member called that we all look at ourselves and see what this place has become. FM has as it always will, and at the same time the new mod do not act in the same diligence and loyalty to FM that the old mod swore to. FM was and never will be an elite RP forum, merely because no such forum ever will exist. This fifth period has been a short one which will end into perhaps the final period of FM.
For this forum to continue afterwards, I will happily leave this history to resume the statement to the few members of this forum that have plagued, whined, fought, and waved their internet ego about without abandon. It is a curious thing that most of you, I find, to have the concentration of non-admin power on this site. It is perhaps outrageous that a certain fraction of you (the few whiners, fighters, and constant nay-sayers) made a splinter forum to FM in the exact occurrence as FM did to KHRPF. I hold the same statement I did then to you: you have gained nothing but everything you took from FM, and this is very little indeed. To think though, that none of you were punished or even stripped of position is yet another embodiment of everything this forum has become: incapable of demonstrating its will, its vision, demanding loyalty while creating a community, and perhaps most of all, preferring no member over another.
Those members that belong to this select group, they are the ones who instantly message the admin in behest of my banning and removal. They will be the ones that are most enraged at the posting of this thread. They have everything to lose as they have always held a tight grasp on this forum, and consequently molded its fortune and all too often misfortune. This, members of FM, is how you may know the individuals that have aspired for themselves, what makes them look good, and who could do the most for this forum, but in truth do so very little on their own and rarely come together to make FM a working body. Is it any wonder that new members find it next to impossible to integrate themselves into this forum? When the mod and “special members” are almost equivocally older members?
To you cretin that FM would be fine without, you may yet change and resurrect this forum entirely, perhaps even away from its first misguided and juvenile beginning, and transform it into a proper RP forum. Here is your final chance at decency, your act of showing and reminding yourselves the truth that you couldn’t see if it was slammed in your face and shoved down your throat. Keep this post, this thread, stickied in every board. Do not reply to it. Do not edit this post. Direct all members and new comers here. Pour over and examine all this post and open your eyes, which you have so fervently shown you do not use. And maybe when you’ve changed, and this forum has as well, you can take this down. Trust me; you’ll know if you can. But, that could just invite everything back again. And you all may be too far gone as it is, or there’s no reason to challenge you people. By ignoring this it will only mean I’m right. Reason away my criticism, ignore it, trivialize it, slander me, use “logic”, but, darlings, you’re just proving me right. I challenge you to see your weaknesses, vices, failings, and how ugly you are; and I ask you to damn well do something about it.

This entails you stop harassing the admin about individuals that “insult” you, that offend you, that deserve to be punished, that are generally disruptive rude people. Grow a spine, handle situations, and confront people without blowing your top. A forum does not revolve around you, a forum can do without you if you do all of the above (as KHRPF does fine without the FM entourage). Admin have much better things to do than bother with you all day. And so help me whatever power you do or don’t believe in, if you criticize the admin as lazy, I hope you are dealt a ban almost immediately. Directly to the members that have worked around me and in protest of me, I am aware of every incident, every time you went to Iris to complain, every time you went to High to whine. Do you not see your position in this forum? It remains a mystery to me why you incredulous annoying gits are put up with. Every outraged message at an Admin decision only lays further proof to what I have said of you, that you do not wish to lose power or give anyone outside of your social cliché say or choice. That a RP guide I made was found “offensive” and that I was not informed of its removal by any member or admin; if this incident is seen as small, imagine what else has been complained about endlessly and swept under the rug by these same few.
And to a smaller fraction of the few, your mishandling and lack of cooperation with the admin as well as balancing the precipitance of RP, you do not deserve the positions with which you have been given. It is seemingly impossible any balance of function or distribution of responsibility can occur with the number of positions at the moment, and most implausible that many of you hold your positions after the failed splinter movement of months back.
Then, to address a matter not raised directly, but inferred on: the treatment and welcoming of new members. It should not be acceptable ever that new members are criticized unless they openly break forum rules. It should not continue that new members are kept out of social “circles” and it should not continue that new members find it impossible to rp with any members but other new members! A discerning and critical reader will figure out why new members can only find new members, and in order for any change, you must see these conflicts of interest!
Can you see how I am so sure of betting against any of you changing or even seeing these claims as what ails this forum? No, I doubt it, just as I doubt you will see Avenger for the ineffective and lazy admin he was. Yet, that he had you all to please (and the ones from before, who were some of the biggest egos), may speak volumes of those times.
To make one thing clear: we are all guilty of what FM has become. Not just once, has a new member suggested to the forum as a whole that the workings of FM are not geared to new members and are generally faulty. Not just once has FM reacted with anger and furtive elitism. I myself am guilty of this, thus as we all are guilty of not once stopping to look at what we’ve made. Why has no long term member ever, ever done such a thing as this thread before? There is no answer except that the nature of FM and the loss of its vision have made it blind to exactly that! The exception however, is the few members that so proactively discourage any change in direction whatsoever! I am most certain this thread will be called stupid, foolish, that I will be called, dramatic, juvenile; and who is still on FM, my attackers? While I have taken breaks many times from FM and gained perspective, enjoyed time in real life, and then come back to the same unchanging attitude, time and again, I am not the hopeless dramatic. One of us lives in a imaginary life, and they are reading these words at this very moment.
For all members, all normal members, wake up. None of us are without fault in what FM has become. Do we wish that things could be different? Yes! But, always we talk ourselves away from action. How many times I have held myself from this message, from making known what no one will. Let the chiding and arrogant cast this as dramatic, and observe members how they either have power or are the greatest mirrors of irony. Do something, demand new people take positions, but do so in numbers. Refuse to rp with these certain few, do not propagate their cause and stranglehold here any longer; and if you cannot do any of this, leave. Not because you are weak, but because it is not worth the effort when another forum can provide the exact same pleasure minus the power games. FM is a closed circle that is pathetically weak without you, the New Member, the normal members. They, the “special members”, the long term members, are an annoying parasite holding and killing this place in power trip after power trip. At the end of the day, you normal members matter more than ever will. Without you, these few “special members” are nothing! They cannot perform their function or satisfy their self granted importance. They are nothing and you are everything.
Only the admin should be seen differently as they experience just as you do, endure the same criticism just as you do, and follow the same tenuous rule guides as you do; BUT YOU MUST COMMUNICATE! Let the admin know your favor and backing in a unified vision for a forum, not a community of bickering individuals! Do so and the admin may perform confidently, aptly, and quickly. Begin today members, talk amongst yourselves and with the entire forum, but give voice to the indecisiveness you have held in so long. Bring a new period to FM. And so this cycle will go, but do not forget it began now, today, and that going on’s on FM will never be the same again.
Should FM continue for some time to come, I do no wish to know of it. I do not wish to know any member’s opinion either on anything concerning this on FM. To place blame on and fire on me is to entirely miss the point of my message and to yet again show inability to understand the real of all problems: FM itself, hence all of us. If you can only conclude I am a fool and/or a coward, you are the blind leading the blind. So, do something, get a spine, and own up to your failings. Delete this thread, and you are hopeless.
As I began, it seemed my only option to be banned after posting this thread, and that was just a notion of the moment. It was an observation of what made the most sense. Admin of today and tomorrow, ban this account at your own risk. Alter this message only to destroy the implications it has shown to be true. Let all members know what a forum can become and the reality that members and mods are conniving, lying, power mongering, and apathetic people. I will keep my word to not log onto this account by requesting another member change its password in my absence. Should this forum do as has been laid out, should FM truly change, I will ask that member to give me the password and will return to FM. Perhaps at that time FM can take a new step and direction and begin again. At the moment it seems that is not so to even being dreamt of happening, and much, much work must be done.

This entails you stop harassing the admin about individuals that “insult” you, that offend you, that deserve to be punished, that are generally disruptive rude people. Grow a spine, handle situations, and confront people without blowing your top. A forum does not revolve around you, a forum can do without you if you do all of the above (as KHRPF does fine without the FM entourage). Admin have much better things to do than bother with you all day. And so help me whatever power you do or don’t believe in, if you criticize the admin as lazy, I hope you are dealt a ban almost immediately. Directly to the members that have worked around me and in protest of me, I am aware of every incident, every time you went to Iris to complain, every time you went to High to whine. Do you not see your position in this forum? It remains a mystery to me why you incredulous annoying gits are put up with. Every outraged message at an Admin decision only lays further proof to what I have said of you, that you do not wish to lose power or give anyone outside of your social cliché say or choice. That a RP guide I made was found “offensive” and that I was not informed of its removal by any member or admin; if this incident is seen as small, imagine what else has been complained about endlessly and swept under the rug by these same few.
And to a smaller fraction of the few, your mishandling and lack of cooperation with the admin as well as balancing the precipitance of RP, you do not deserve the positions with which you have been given. It is seemingly impossible any balance of function or distribution of responsibility can occur with the number of positions at the moment, and most implausible that many of you hold your positions after the failed splinter movement of months back.
Then, to address a matter not raised directly, but inferred on: the treatment and welcoming of new members. It should not be acceptable ever that new members are criticized unless they openly break forum rules. It should not continue that new members are kept out of social “circles” and it should not continue that new members find it impossible to rp with any members but other new members! A discerning and critical reader will figure out why new members can only find new members, and in order for any change, you must see these conflicts of interest!
Can you see how I am so sure of betting against any of you changing or even seeing these claims as what ails this forum? No, I doubt it, just as I doubt you will see Avenger for the ineffective and lazy admin he was. Yet, that he had you all to please (and the ones from before, who were some of the biggest egos), may speak volumes of those times.
To make one thing clear: we are all guilty of what FM has become. Not just once, has a new member suggested to the forum as a whole that the workings of FM are not geared to new members and are generally faulty. Not just once has FM reacted with anger and furtive elitism. I myself am guilty of this, thus as we all are guilty of not once stopping to look at what we’ve made. Why has no long term member ever, ever done such a thing as this thread before? There is no answer except that the nature of FM and the loss of its vision have made it blind to exactly that! The exception however, is the few members that so proactively discourage any change in direction whatsoever! I am most certain this thread will be called stupid, foolish, that I will be called, dramatic, juvenile; and who is still on FM, my attackers? While I have taken breaks many times from FM and gained perspective, enjoyed time in real life, and then come back to the same unchanging attitude, time and again, I am not the hopeless dramatic. One of us lives in a imaginary life, and they are reading these words at this very moment.
For all members, all normal members, wake up. None of us are without fault in what FM has become. Do we wish that things could be different? Yes! But, always we talk ourselves away from action. How many times I have held myself from this message, from making known what no one will. Let the chiding and arrogant cast this as dramatic, and observe members how they either have power or are the greatest mirrors of irony. Do something, demand new people take positions, but do so in numbers. Refuse to rp with these certain few, do not propagate their cause and stranglehold here any longer; and if you cannot do any of this, leave. Not because you are weak, but because it is not worth the effort when another forum can provide the exact same pleasure minus the power games. FM is a closed circle that is pathetically weak without you, the New Member, the normal members. They, the “special members”, the long term members, are an annoying parasite holding and killing this place in power trip after power trip. At the end of the day, you normal members matter more than ever will. Without you, these few “special members” are nothing! They cannot perform their function or satisfy their self granted importance. They are nothing and you are everything.
Only the admin should be seen differently as they experience just as you do, endure the same criticism just as you do, and follow the same tenuous rule guides as you do; BUT YOU MUST COMMUNICATE! Let the admin know your favor and backing in a unified vision for a forum, not a community of bickering individuals! Do so and the admin may perform confidently, aptly, and quickly. Begin today members, talk amongst yourselves and with the entire forum, but give voice to the indecisiveness you have held in so long. Bring a new period to FM. And so this cycle will go, but do not forget it began now, today, and that going on’s on FM will never be the same again.
Should FM continue for some time to come, I do no wish to know of it. I do not wish to know any member’s opinion either on anything concerning this on FM. To place blame on and fire on me is to entirely miss the point of my message and to yet again show inability to understand the real of all problems: FM itself, hence all of us. If you can only conclude I am a fool and/or a coward, you are the blind leading the blind. So, do something, get a spine, and own up to your failings. Delete this thread, and you are hopeless.
As I began, it seemed my only option to be banned after posting this thread, and that was just a notion of the moment. It was an observation of what made the most sense. Admin of today and tomorrow, ban this account at your own risk. Alter this message only to destroy the implications it has shown to be true. Let all members know what a forum can become and the reality that members and mods are conniving, lying, power mongering, and apathetic people. I will keep my word to not log onto this account by requesting another member change its password in my absence. Should this forum do as has been laid out, should FM truly change, I will ask that member to give me the password and will return to FM. Perhaps at that time FM can take a new step and direction and begin again. At the moment it seems that is not so to even being dreamt of happening, and much, much work must be done.
