Character related issue, please assist.

Uhm hello, I hope this is an operate place to put this. You see I’m looking for advice more then anything else. You see… I have just finished Kingdom hearts 358/2 Days. And quite frankly, I’ve grown rather fond of Xion. She a very interesting character, and I feel, when I’m able to claim her, I could so a lot with her, both staying true to her roots, and evolving her a bit, perhaps looking her develop a deep identity. Though this naturally relies on the people she meets and what she gets’s involved with plot wise.

Now some may be asking “Well what’s the issues her? Make yourself a character and get those post!” Well you see, lady luck has frowned on me. One it comes to custom characters I had two in mind, a Wielder of Darkness, sort of Anti hero-ish, who would eventually come to wield a keyblade, of sort at least. Now a few of you may be rolling your eyes, yes, keyblades, keyblades, keyblades. Well the simply fact is I’ve RPed about a dozen Kingdom Hearts character, and not a one has ever touched the thing. So I felt it was about high time I give it a try. The other is a bit more simple, a Nobody that focus on Magic, bit of a show men, he’s far less complex.

Now here’s the issues. I HATE having two characters with distinct similarities; I find it can make the RPing a good bit stale. And Xion has some similarities to both. For one she’s obviously a Keyblade wielder (Not to mention her hair style and color is similar to my darkness wielder, but I came up with him far before Xion was around so bad luck again.) And while technically not a Nobody, a replica is rather close. Not to mentioned Xion was rather good with magic, and I would plan to make that a big part of her, so she’s not, quite literally a carbon copy of Sora and Roxas.

So there’s my Problem, I don’t want similar characters, yet the Canon I want has distinct similarities to two of my custom, again simply by my bad luck. So now I ask for your advice, any member of this forum. Anything go’s advise on how to alter my customs, advise on how to alter my plan for Xion, heck even character ideas you would think I would like, ANYTHING to get this ball rolling. Thank you for your time.

Well, I'm not sure how this helps, but we do have a member who is going to be auditioning for Xion very soon. So at the moment I would say not to worry about that, and to just go ahead and get that post count up. After all, the site has an edit board, so if you want you can always change your characters so that they don't have these similarities.

And going along with what Angy/Arke said, it's sad, but it'd demean the character to go the standard 'not-really-dead' thing that most of the Org members have done as well as screw, and so me, Angy, and the person that wants to audition for Xion worked out a way for her to come back, but it requires a specific circumstance. So, yeah, if you're really interested, once you get those posts up, talk to us. It'll be easier with MSN.

You could also have Xion not wield a keyblade. That'd totally switch things up. ;D

And no worries. Mickey and Riku couldn't be more different in temperament, and they're both keyblade wielders too. It's not the weapon that defines the character - it's the heart beneath. Or lack thereof.

Yay Xion fans (I'm a fan myself). I strongly support the revival plan cause I had intended to go after her (surprise). But I'm more interested in a fresh face coming after her. So long as we get you in on the revival plan, it'll be fun and good rping. With that in mind, Keyblades cost extorionist prices. Go with the Nobody to ease yourself in and work towards Xion. You might find that by doing the Nobody you can differentiate him from your Xion plans.

Heh wow, I had no idea Xion had such a following, I mean a lot seam to dislike her, most likely something to do with making the origination unpure, or some such thing. Even I was skeptical at first, bit I found here to be an VERY interesting character, becoming on of my favorite in the organization.

Anyhow, Of course I’ll join this little group you’ve come up with, I mean I can admit, it may be a little lame, bit not being dead, just fading into darkness to fight again, DOSE work for most of the Org members, but certainly not Xion. Personally I would welcome help on any of my character to better fit the site, I mean it’s not as if I can’t do it on my own, but I understand my character ideas can be iffy.
Not to mention, while some create there own worlds, with there own rich back stories and so and so forth. That is NOT me, I like making characters that squeezes right into the fandom nice and tight. And as I am late, I would gladly concede Xion to you FSA, but if you mean that then I’ll do my best.

I also understand the price issue…. I was honestly cursing my luck, that the ONE time I feel like taking some to bear the key, it had to be at such very, very high price, but I was hoping I could show my skill or some crap like that and be awarded through hard work, rather then hard posting one million times…

Though for any who may be worried, this isn’t simply about that darn fancy key sword we all love. Honestly, I don’t think I’m very fit to use any of the other canon bearers . I mean I love Mickey, Riku, and Sora, but there more… Characters I would want to RP WITH rather then AS, And I’m sure you know what I mean.

As for my other characters, Well…. They both have complications. As I said with the Magic user, I am afraid the play style would be a good bit similar to Xion, and while good for a first character, he was kind of made on a whim. I’m more interested in the darkness user, as I can just drop the keyblade issue… Bit for him I run into another wall. I’m afraid he’s to similar to Riku.

Or rather, what Riku use to be, I was think, darkness using, heartless controlling kinda guy, while his history and such differs enough, being the school type, high intellect, two face, also having a little brother and all kinds of personality traits, that make him QUITE different from Riku. I’m afraid his fighting style will seem to much like the Riku from Kingdom Heart CoM. Which admitably he’s changed a lot since then, but none the less this is something I want to avoid like the plague, so perhaps we can talk about him while discussing Xion, but any, I’ll gladly talk about this on MSN, just give me the information of PM and such, and heck all talk to all of you at once if you like.
