Username: Ryu-star!
Current Canons: Yuna, Zexion, Yuffie.
Canon you desire: Axel.
Username of current canon: VIII. Axel.
Has the canon holder been informed of the challenge? Yup. For anyone who's confused by the title, I challenged Zero for Axel in the past. But I chose to withdraw the challenge at the last minute. However, as my Zexion muse is fading to non-existace, but I don't want to leave the Org, I would like to go for one of my favorite members. Namely, Axel. And I promise, I won't just drop this challenge randomly.

I accept your challenge, vile creature! Prepare to be defeated!
I've done one canon challenge before and that was a long time ago so I need my memory refreshed. Will one of the mods give an objective our characters need to perform like last time?

Nevermind, I'm far too busy for this right now. So I'll lock this. Should I decide to re-establish this challenge, I'll just re-open this thread and let you know. Sound good? Groovy.

[ Re-opened, as I have more free time now. ]
V-Vile? Low blow, man! XD.
And as far as I know, we just post about whatever we want. With that said, my post.
Oh, and another note. I've gone for a more... deep Axel. Not the carefree, goofy one that they showed in the game. And while that is a part of him which I believe I've incorporated, I wanted to focus on the other aspects of his personality which aren't focused on quite as much in the games. --- Darkness.
No matter where he turned, there it was, reaching out for him like some sick beast wanting to destroy him, even in the afterlife.
The darkness that blocked his vision, clouded his senses, and dulled his emotions. I guess it's getting back at me. He mused, lying on his back yet again, as he'd been doing since the moment he died. He had, after all, betrayed the darkness. Saved someone who fought for the side of light. Sure, he'd had his reasons, but darkness didn't seem to want to forgive someone like him. As if he even deserved forgiveness.
He'd betrayed those who had once been his allies, and abandoned the one friend he'd truly had. He liked to think that he'd done it for a good reason, but he knew that was a lie. He was a Nobody. He did nothing for a good reason. A sigh escaping his lips, only to be silenced a moment later by the all-encompassing darkness, he sat up, looking around. He'd developed a habit of doing so, hoping that, somehow, he'd see something. Anything.
But why was he even bothering? It wasn't as though anyone was going to come and visit him. He was dead. Plain and simple. He'd be stuck here until the end of time, and he had to learn to accept it. Leaning back to stare upwards, he wondered why the afterlife was so boring. He'd heard stories of there being terrible creatures and weird red dudes with pitchforks awaiting him. Hell, he'd been looking forward to it. But as he'd learned, death wasn't nearly that eventful.
There was just darkness. Everywhere. Darkness above, to both sides, below, a pinprick of light in the distance... Wait, what? Sea-green opticals widening in realization, Axel leapt to his feet, running towards that one speck of light. Why he was doing so, he didn't know. He just felt like that light meant... something. But before he'd moved very far at all, the light rushed up to meet him, forcing him to shield his eyes against it's intensity.
---
When he opened his eyes again, he was in a different time, a different place. Trees on every side, little woodland creatures chirping at him from their various hiding spots. It took him about half a second to realize that he was no longer trapped in that infernal darkness. Eyes wide with disbelief, he looked around, the breeze whipping his hair around as he did so. His peace was shattered almost instantaneously as it all came rushing back to him.
"Roxas!" He leapt to his feet, fire forming at his fingertips, causing the few creatures who'd chosen to come closer to scurry away, chirping obscenities at him. He turned this way and that, searching for the danger that was surely threatening his best friend. It took him another moment to realize that he was being stupid. Roxas was gone. Slumping back to the ground, he let the sadness within him rise to the surface, causing him to grow disconnected from the world around him. What did he care if someone came along and tried to kill him now? What did he care if the other members of the Organization popped up and chose to get their revenge.
Roxas was gone.
It was as simple as that. A dull, humorless laugh escaped him suddenly as he realized, once again, how ridiculous he was being. He was a Nobody. He had no emotions. This sadness he was feeling? It was fake. It was just a dull shadow of the emotions he must have had as a human. This empty feeling was almost enough to make him truly feel sad.
Almost, but not quite.
A muffled swishing sound jerked him out of his reverie. A sound that he knew quite well, as he'd spent more than enough time in the company of the Dusks. Slowly rising to his feet and calling his chakrams into his hands, he smirked at the creatures. "You just can't leave a guy alone, can you?" He inquired, his voice rough from lack of use. Stealing one glance at the sky above him -- tinted gold by the rising sun -- he dashed at his foes, determined to make them feel the pain that he couldn't. [/size]

Fair enough.
Now, there's a few things I'd like to say, and while I might seem like I'm being a total dick for bringing them up, I feel that they need to be said.
Firstly, while I understand that we all have real life stuff that has us away from the computers, I've noticed that your last IC post was over a month ago. I can't say much here without sounding like a total hypocrite, but even still, that's quite a long time.
Also, you've stated in another thread that you'll be shipping off for the military on the 15th of December -- a date that's really not that far away. That's really of no consequence yet, but what about when that date comes around? Obviously you've been having some activity issues already -- which, of course, is understandable. By your own admission, you have stuff going on.
Which brings me to my third and final point. Why not allow an RP'er that will be on more often the chance to play Axel? I'm not trying to stop you from defending your canon, as you have every right to do so, but I just felt that I ought to ask it.
And, in my eyes at least, when things settle down a bit, even if you were to allow me to have/audition for Axel now, you could just challenge me for him. That seems fair, no?
But I digress. It's not up to me. ^^.

Hmm...Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. My activity has been faltering and I will be leaving soon. I guess I just have a sentimental attachment to this canon and I don't really want to give him up but I know that I may not have the time to play him as much as he deserves. Plus, I've poured a shit ton of munny into him. xD
How about this? You give me the next month and however many days until December 15th to play him if a muse sparks again and I want to do something with him. After that, my boot camp will be 8 weeks long. You can play him during that time, no challenge needed or anything. And after I get out of boot camp, I'll see what kind of access I'll have to the internet and how much free time I get. If I don't have the time, you can keep him and we wont need a challenge. If, for some reason, I get adequate time and still want to play him, we can have the official challenge for him?

While I see where you're coming from as well, there's a few reasons that are going to make me have to politely decline your deal.
1) I really don't have that kind of patience. And honestly, the way I see it, if we went with your deal, I'd have to wait almost a month and a half to play a canon that really isn't being played right now anyway. To make matters worse, once you get back, you could very easily just take him back. I really don't see how that's fair, personally.
2) The results of this challenge affect more than just us. There are a few other RP'ers who I'm currently keeping waiting because of this, and I hardly think it's fair to keep them waiting that long.
3) While I realize that you have emotional attachment to him, and you've spent ridiculous amounts of munny on him... it happens. That's just the nature of challenges.
So I'd like to ask that we just handle this challenge normally. I'll wait a little while, as you requested, for your post, and we'll let the staff decide. Does that sound agreeable?

*Sighs*
Well, in the few past days its been, I've decided that, yeah, I'm probably not going to be playing Axel any time soon so I'm going to willingly decline the challenge and just let Ryu have Axel if the staff feel that he'd pass a canon audition for him. All I ask is that you treat him well, Ryu. xD. If I do, from some miracle, have both muse and time once im deployed to play him, I guess I can just challenge you then. Have fun.

/blinks.
Really?
Thanks man, I appreciate it.
But yeah, here's hoping that you're able to come back one day. While I never personally got the chance to RP with you, I'm still rather sad to see you go. And I'll treat Axel well if I get him, don't worry. ^^.

D8 You should totally make these self-contained stories rather than the beginning of longer stories we'll never get to finish. D8
I'm leery of jumping into these fine waters here, so if any character mod/admin/global moderator has some input to add, they can override my vote.

Meh. I figure it covers all the essential points of Axel. It pains me to see that Axel won't be Axel. But what can you do.
