"Light and Darkness are eternal. Nothing may go on forever, too. But guess what, Xemnas? You are not eternal!"
"No more eternal than your radiance!"
Xemnas was wrong. He WAS eternal.
A dark corridor opened up in The World That Never Was. This corridor wasn't typical, though. White sparks were shooting out of it. A scream...no...a roar could be heard from within. A roar that could be mistaken to be full of anger and rage, but in reality the roar was full of Nothing. That was ten times more dangerous than any roar of anger or rage.
A man slowly stepped out of the corridor. He wore a black leather cloak with white stripes all around it. The man had long, white hair and deep orange eyes. He was exhausted. The corridor closed up behind him with a bang and the man fell to his knees. How long had it been? Minutes, days, years? Was he even alive?
"Yes, Xemnas," came a voice, "you have returned. This isn't a dream.
Without looking, the man who was called Xemnas said, "Of course it isn't a dream, you fool." Xemnas looked up and gave an empty sneer. "That would mean that I'm not eternal."
The man that had addressed Xemnas also wore a black cloak, but this one's hood was up, so it was impossible to know who the speaker was. "Your plan backfired. The Keybearer that you so desperately sought to control ended up being your demise."
Xemnas stood to his feet, his black boots clacking against the white floor that he stood upon. His face had returned to a blank stare. However, the stare could be mistaken to be a stare of malice. "On the contrary," he replied, "the Keybearer simply opened my eyes to what truly needed to be done."
The man in the cloak stomped his foot. "This is no time to be speaking in riddles! Do you know how long you've been gone? Do you know what has happened?" These questions caught Xemnas's attention as his head snapped up from his empty stare. It became a look of realization. If this black cloaked man was alive, then that would mean that the rest of his Organization was most likely out there and most likely without a leader. Not that it particularly mattered to Xemnas. In the end they were nothing but pawns that were slaughtered by the other team's knights. Failures in terms of the goal that needed to be carried out. Still, they could be useful to have for the next step.
"Reveal to me everything you know," Xemnas said with the tone of a true leader. It clearly didn't do the trick anymore, as the man in the cloak laughed. "Is there something funny? I would assume not since you probably don't even remember what 'funny' feels like anymore."
The laughing stopped. "At least I can remember there were other emotions besides anger and rage, Xemnas." The cloaked man turned around to take a few steps, then turned back toward Xemnas. "You aren't in charge anymore. It's been almost a year. Marluxia's stepped up and taken over. He even has the Keybearer.
Xemnas stood still for a moment. The cloaked man wasn't sure if he had just put his former leader in shock or not. He just stood silently, waiting for a reaction.
A smile graced Xemnas's lips. It started as a small little grin, but it grew larger. The grin became a sneer, the sneer became a laugh, the laugh became a cackle.
"You are wrong," Xemnas said as he regained his fine composure, "I remember more than anger and rage. I remember amusement, too." Xemnas opened a dark corridor behind him. "Tell your traitor of a 'Superior' that I'm going to want my Organization back when he's done with his child's play."
Xemnas walked into his corridor, laughing once again. Joining with Kingdom Hearts was going to be an easier task that Xemnas had expected.
