Name ~ Maleficent
Age ~ A good couple of eons.
Birthplace ~ King Stefan's Realm? (AKA Aurora's World)
Gender ~ Female
Race ~ Fairy (Believe it or not.)
Special Class ~ N/A
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Appearance~
As you are heading out the door of your house, a small glimmer of light catches your eye. You turn around and see a mirror, putting you face to face with your reflection.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Physical appearance ~
Maleficent is tall and stately, towering over anyone she meets with the force of her personality and the liquid ripples of her cloak. Black, bat-like, with a purple lining flowing out from the edges of her sleeves and flaring up around the collar. The graceful folds in the fabric swelling and swishing to form the contours of her body, save for her heart shaped face and lithe fingers (with red tipped nails).
Her complexion is smooth and waxy, dusted a pale linen green and inset with sharp features. Eyebrows, black and outlined, arch sharply to form twin crests over semi-circles of purple mascara. Eyelids droop demurely over piercing yellow eyes which are almost- unblinking. The eyes and their shutters only pause, only tremor, to glide shut when the motion is deliberate, calculate, premeditated. A razor fringe of lashes as well oiled as a guillotine. As lovely and delicately tapered as almonds. Paired on either side of a long classical nose. Large in comparison to a pucker of plumb colored lips. A blossom near the base of her chin.
Horns burst from her widow’s peak and curl like a grimace over her crown.

Clothing/Accessories ~ A Black cloak-thing. Maybe a ring and a necklace or something. No one knows if the horns are a hat or just protrusions of her magnanimous malevolent Maleficent head.

~Personality~
As you're walking through the door, you see many sights that influence your mood. The different feelings that suddenly wash over you are many, leaving you with a strange mix of emotions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alignment ~ Evil
Behavior ~
Maleficent is a woman based on perception.
The blackness of her core is broadcast upon the outside world from a deeper understanding of her own identity. From birth she knew what she was and what she was meant to be. She is wickedness. She is darkness. She is the glory in decay. She is the surge in hell-fire. She is assured her place in the universe, and her purpose. To reign supreme over every walk of life with an iron fist and a toxic blast and no one can tell her otherwise. Self-confidence based on this assurance overwhelms every bit of available space in her anatomy, leaving no room for doubt, a single falter. Only for reserve as flawless as her design. (Only those who deny their birthrights are subject to insecurities.) And if anyone fails to acknowledge her magnanimous presence succinctly, or does not perceive her as she had bid them to, as Mistress of All Evil, they will be smote with vengeance.
To quote Nascent: “In the Mind of Maleficent: she is, therefore she is impressive.”
To communicate her supremacy, she employs all manner of dramatics. A natural flare that Maleficent seems to enjoy spinning around those she wishes to intimidate. Complex flashes of lightning, eerie fog, booming voices, hail storms and maelstroms galore. Special effects which spur fear and hasten her legend, like a wild fire burning out of control. It is just as important how other people perceive her as how she perceives herself. So in this way, part of her sway dangles on the gossamer threads of illusion. The fabric of the Legend she creates with these shadows and sparkles is almost substantial as flesh. She is the Legend and the Legend is her. Intertwined like the snake that devours its tail. Tale devouring Tale. Torn between her identity as a sorceress and her identity as a Goddess. Vanity, and aspirations of divinity consume her.
And like a Goddess, she makes war with a clarity and coldness of heart, as if merely toying with those “under” her. Her machinations are complicated and put into effect effortlessly, and Maleficent takes great pride in the fluid execution in which she exercises her control. Like she takes great pride in her style. She does not want her name and her reputation to be attached to anything less than what she envisions. Honor is part of perfection. Perfection is part of her darkness. The Darkness. The Future. Her anger is bitter magma in the face of a tarred brush. Willing to face the exhalation of a grander purpose and blacker significance, but unwilling to face the sleazier and less noteworthy ends to the means.
The staff is a long, unobtrusive weapon. It is not ornately adorned but simple and bronze, about almost the height of Maleficent herself. A green orb rests at the pinnacle. It glows when Maleficent is implementing it for attack. (Magical or physical, because she could sure whack you one with the thing. It’s pretty darn heavy.)
**The staff is linked and can be used with all Maleficent’s attacks. In order for Maleficent to use her powers at maximum strength, the staff must be in her hand or at least five to ten feet away. It cannot be wielded by anyone other than Maleficent.
Weather Transmutation
The weather itself bends to the witch's dark will. With but a thought Maleficent can turn a sunny day cloudy, then command the clouds to dump torrents of rain upon the land, along with white-hot bolts of lightning. Or she may decide to change the rain to snow or then to hail as the temperature drops. She may call in thick mists and fogs, send a frost across the land killing plants, or raise the temperature and let the sun beat down mercilessly upon tired mortals(So long as it is within daylight hours). She may call the winds to blow or whip them into swirling cyclones as tall as two-story houses, guiding their path with grim satisfaction, and throughout it all Maleficent herself remains completely untouched by the enslaved Mother Nature.
When indoors rather than out Maleficent is slightly more limited. The temperature and frosts may still be willed, the winds may still be blown but only in spurts instead of constant blowing(Cyclones are still an option) and fog may still be conjured, but precipitation or lightning from above is impossible. If electricity is required, however, the scathing bolts may be fired directly from Maleficent's staff or hands instead.
Strength:
Average
Uses:
Maleficent must transmute the weather in stages, taking one turn to make each individual change. For example: The first tun may be used to fill the sky with dark clouds, the next to drop the temperature to a chill, a third to let the snow fall, and then a fourth to conjure strong winds to complete a deadly snowstorm that goes on for as long as she wishes. Changing it then into something else would require another turn for each change, such as raising the temperature back to normal so that rain falls instead and then calling forth lightning in the turn after that. Ending the precipitation and dismissing the clouds would take another turn each, and another turn to make another change such as increasing the wind ferocity into a cyclone or stopping the winds entirely to then raise a blanket of fog upon the land in the turn after. Attack-level transmutations(Lightning, cyclones, hail) may not be used again for two turns after the end of each individual instance. Lightning may be called down up to three bolts at a time and cyclones and hail may last up to three turns in a row. Hail can only fall within one twenty-five square meter area at a time.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Prison of Thorns
Firing a magic spark from her staff or hands Maleficent causes the area it lands in to become overgrown almost instantaneously with long, dark stretches of vines and roots that are covered in dagger-sized sharp thorns, making it a very dangerous place to be for anyone but herself. The mass of evil vegetation can be cut and destroyed but it will grown in many layers around the place, making entrance to or exit of an endeavor taking at least three turns of focused work for anyone, if they can spare the attention from the witch herself. Being pricked or pierced by the thorns will cause a natural poison to enter the poor victim's system. This poison will eat away at their health slowly and wildly painfully until they are cured while making them experience drowsiness throughout. If the Prison of Thorns is dispelled then the poison in any characters' bodies is removed as well.
Strength:
Moderate
Uses:
Maleficent will glow with sparks of evil dark blue magic in the turn before she casts this curse. After creation it can be dispelled by the witch at any time. To cast it again she must wait at least five turns first. One casting lasts four turns (posts). Maleficent cannot use any of her other existing powers, with the exception of "All the Powers of Darkness" after five turns, while Prison of Thorns is in effect.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
All the Power of Darkness!
Maleficent swirls her black cloak ominously to obscure her hands and face, causing the fabric to swell and ripple with scale and sinew. To burst forth with tender belly and molten bellows, claws and snout, tail and snarls. She turns into a freakin’ dragon okay?
While in this form Maleficent is many times larger, easily able to fill an entire room. Because of her increased mass the dragon is capable of suffering large amounts of punishment before it can be defeated, aided by its diamond-hard black scales for added defense. Only the beast's purple underbelly is less vulnerable than a bank vault door. Maleficent's new larger size comes with hefty weight and great strength to match. Her claws and teeth are harder than those found in any natural creature, capable of tearing and chewing into the metal armor of foolish knights. Though her wings are small the dragon is still capable of taking to the skies, though her large form means that her aerial speed is not as high as smaller winged animals.
There is a required cool down of four posts.
Strength:
Strong
Uses:
Maleficent can enter and exit her dragon form at will, but not both within the same turn. While in this form her available abilities are limited only to those specified for it.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Evil Flames
Maleficent is capable of conjuring up sickly green fire with her dark powers, shooting them out of her staff in streams or breathing them out in larger amounts as a dragon (the size of sheets from the staff, the size of mattresses from the mouth of the dragon). The flames have no elemental affinity, but will burn and spread like real fire. After being conjured or spewed out the fires will grow in height and intensity (the highest is fifteen feet), forming blockades and walls to Maleficent's enemies. The witch can also create will-o-wisps of the Evil Flames around herself in a ring, about five the size of medicine balls, and send them flying to home in on specific targets at moderate speed. In her dragon form the will-o-wisps can be conjured up to ten at a time.
Strength:
Strong
Uses:
Maleficent can fire out the flames in a stream which spreads as it burns flammable material any number of times, but only two of them may grow into intended walls of flames at a time. The walls of flames can burn for up to four turns in a row before they fade. The will-o-wisps may be conjured again any time after three turns from when the last of them disappeared.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Villain's Veil
Maleficent is a superior being to all others! She would never allow any lower creatures to actually harm her precious body. Whenever Maleficent is not in her dragon form the witch covers herself within a veil of magical energy. All attacks she receives deal damage to her reserves of magical power rather than her own body, which means she will never be cut or bruised or burned, regardless of how she is attacked. She can still reel from blows or be thrown by force, but both of these are dulled as she experiences the force as if through a cushion. Even with this protection, if Maleficent's energy is completely depleted by attacking the veil then she will still fall from lack of strength just as if she had been actually injured. Of course, because Maleficent has such vast dark power, she can take attacks from her enemies for much longer than ordinary people (with the endurance of five ferocious supermodels, no more no less) can while taking damage to their real bodies.
Strength:
Strong
Uses:
Passive
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Terra Levitation
Maleficent can cause the very ground she is standing up to remove itself from the rest of the earth(A top surface area of up to six meters diameter may be pulled up) and float into the air. Maleficent and anyone else on the enchanted object can then use it as an aerial vehicle, bale to move freely and elegantly. The mass' speed while rising or falling is relatively slow compared to those with the power of flight, but when moving in a straight horizontal direction it is much faster than a human runner. Depending on the surface that has been called up Maleficent can use it to ram into those beneath her notice as true opponents.
Strength:
Weak
Uses:
Unlimited. Maleficent may fall back to earth if she takes a large amount of damage while using this ability. If her ride is destroyed by the enemy then she can simply enchant more of the ground to do her bidding, but must wait at least two turns before she can do so again.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Meteors from Heaven
Maleficent uses her magic to create a rift in space itself: a large, swirling black portal eight meters in diameter. From this portal a single, bright blue burning meteorite the size of a car flies through. It hurtles in whatever direction the portal was aimed but will succumb to gravity if its own momentum is opposed for long. When the meteor crashes into the environment or an unlucky victim it creates an explosion in an area of five meters around it. After this blast the portal and meteor's mass both vanish from the world.
Strength:
Weak
Uses:
Maleficent must wait at least seven turns before she can cast this spell again.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
~History~
As you slay the last of the beasts, you put your weapon aside, and walk away, knowing your tale of bravery will be told for thousands of years to come.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once upon a time...
There was darkness. Lots and lots and lots of it.
This was to be expected as “creation” had decided to take it’s sweet time fermenting while non-matter sat around and twiddled it’s thumbs. Wishing it had a more busy social calendar, or a garden party, or at least an appointment at the dry-cleaners. But then- just as non-mater was loosing hope of ever finding anything remotely interesting to do in the infinite cold blackness of space- there was a twinkle in the distance. The bloom of nebula. The first spark of life in all time. Heart-rending in a kiss of turquoise, an implosion, a birth of silver membrane and pulsing star. The beginning of history and hope.
“Sheesh, sure took it’s sweet time fermenting didn’t it? All that exquisite design. It’s just tasteless. It’s putting on airs, the snob. It probably thinks it’s so great and all that.” muttered non-existence, sparking simultaneously, a bitter rivalry fated to last...forever. (And, just like any other savory dysfunctional sibling relationship, one that was marked by a one-up-man-ship the likes of which, could only be comprehended by the combined psyche of hundreds of small-woodland creatures on a distant planet, in a distant galaxy, before they all incinerated. Physically not able handle power of the knowledge. Face and eyeballs first, like those crazy nazis in the Indiana Jones movie.)
Getting on with the story, the planets eventually settled and junk. Green and pretty and bright, like a scabs. Or like particularly symmetrical plastic cups delicious smooth in their newness. And anti-matter decided to crash the party. (Inhabiting the decidedly un-hip recesses of the cosmos was getting moldy and oldy like no one would believe.) A great black meteor-type-thing fell towards the newly forged solar system. Barreling through the atmosphere, and just about felling an entire farming community in King Stefan’s Realm. Everything was obliterated. (A smoking crater and barren wasteland which would later become to be known as “The Barren Wasteland”). Tendrils of darkness, and stench, and evil writhed from the soil and fossilized rock. Wingless ravens screeched and dripped blood as they flew. Ignorant villagers (the few that were left) ran screaming from the wreckage. A large friendly warning sign was posted on the border between the rolling fields of grain and the steaming chasm.
This was slightly disconcerting to current the King and Queen.
But, the “darkness” (grumbly, and angry, and only making a very vague attempt to show off) wasn’t really making much progress. It just simmered and brooded, as darkness has been known to do, and remained in a single concentrated mass. There was not a lot to worry about unless you were enough of an idiot to wander towards the part of the horizon that spewed bile.
Maleficent had been born. She was instantly magnificent.
Conflicting interests made it impossible to discern if this was a curse or a blessing.
On one hand: Infinitely fabulous, more infinitely fabulous than anyone or any part of her surroundings, nothing was worthy. She was stranded in mediocracy. Horrible stinking mediocracy.
On the other: Being born Greater Than, she had the power and the right to manipulate the Less Than Common Denominators. There was no one to oppose her. She was Goddess. She was a conqueror.
She emerged with arms raised towards the heavens. Viscous lava drained, perfumed around her limbs, as her skin cooled like ivory. As her eyelashes curled and uncurled. As her horns glowed with malice and iron. Preparing for the domination to come. Erecting her fortress, spreading terror across the land as years passed by the hundreds and her infamy purred. Battlements rose through moaning pillars of smoke, bone, and marrow.
Her spirit was not at all dampened when that Waif Princess and her Prince managed to live Happy Ever After. The fools.
But it was during the duration of her “alliance” with those quaint urchins who called themselves “Villains”. That insufferable Hades, that crippled excuse for a captain, Jafar, Ursula, Oogie Boogie. The utterance of the word “incompetence” was generous, very generous, indeed. It was quite gratifying to hear of their dispatch. One by one, like the ticking of a clock, their bells tolled.
(The whole Princess of Heart fiasco was best left unsaid. As was the very disturbed, tan man in the kilt. Although wondrous vexing it may have been to have control of one’s own heart wrenched from one’s hands.)
It was less gratifying when she met with her own demise at the hands of that boy-peasant, flushed royal by the petty toy he had chosen to wield. She had set a trap for a pauper, and lo, caught a prince. His Majesty, the fowl, and the mongrel. Royal guests that refused her hospitality and slipped through her fingers. Royal guests that time and time again managed to sway her apprentices towards lithe light and friendship, rip them from her dimpled fingers, her velvet mantle. Truly, Riku had fashioned a pretty pet, a useful servant.
But Diablo was faithful. He alone had not failed her. When she reemerged from her- absence he alighted on her shoulder. Pete had sprawled at her feet with as much valiance as he had possessed in his pathetic little core. Imbecile. A disgrace to the forces of evil. Fortune indeed had smiled upon her if her last requiem subsisted of the the bird. The vast “armies” that he had assembled were never in supply when there was need. And they were often embarrassingly defeated in combat.
Fortunately she could afford to be dependent on her own vast reserves of strength.
In wagging war against the masses of the heartless, embroiled in the Organization’s fortress- she was forced to. Pete- as was the general rule, was little more than a hindrance.
She would destroy these “Nobodies” and take their castle. (The snarling beast with the powers of the moon, would regret daring to challenge her.)
Or she would let them destroy His Majesty for her. Or vice versa.

Because of her increased mass the dragon is capable of suffering large amounts of punishment before it can be defeated, aided by its diamond-hard black scales for added defense. Only the beast's purple underbelly is less vulnerable than a bank vault door. Maleficent's new larger size comes with hefty weight and great strength to match. Her claws and teeth are harder than those found in any natural creature, capable of tearing and chewing into the metal armor of foolish knights. Though her wings are small the dragon is still capable of taking to the skies, though her large form means that her aerial speed is not as high as smaller winged animals.
There is a required cool down of four posts.
Strength:
Strong
Uses:
Maleficent can enter and exit her dragon form at will, but not both within the same turn. While in this form her available abilities are limited only to those specified for it.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Evil Flames
Maleficent is capable of conjuring up sickly green fire with her dark powers, shooting them out of her staff in streams or breathing them out in larger amounts as a dragon (the size of sheets from the staff, the size of mattresses from the mouth of the dragon). The flames have no elemental affinity, but will burn and spread like real fire. After being conjured or spewed out the fires will grow in height and intensity (the highest is fifteen feet), forming blockades and walls to Maleficent's enemies. The witch can also create will-o-wisps of the Evil Flames around herself in a ring, about five the size of medicine balls, and send them flying to home in on specific targets at moderate speed. In her dragon form the will-o-wisps can be conjured up to ten at a time.
Strength:
Strong
Uses:
Maleficent can fire out the flames in a stream which spreads as it burns flammable material any number of times, but only two of them may grow into intended walls of flames at a time. The walls of flames can burn for up to four turns in a row before they fade. The will-o-wisps may be conjured again any time after three turns from when the last of them disappeared.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Villain's Veil
Maleficent is a superior being to all others! She would never allow any lower creatures to actually harm her precious body. Whenever Maleficent is not in her dragon form the witch covers herself within a veil of magical energy. All attacks she receives deal damage to her reserves of magical power rather than her own body, which means she will never be cut or bruised or burned, regardless of how she is attacked. She can still reel from blows or be thrown by force, but both of these are dulled as she experiences the force as if through a cushion. Even with this protection, if Maleficent's energy is completely depleted by attacking the veil then she will still fall from lack of strength just as if she had been actually injured. Of course, because Maleficent has such vast dark power, she can take attacks from her enemies for much longer than ordinary people (with the endurance of five ferocious supermodels, no more no less) can while taking damage to their real bodies.
Strength:
Strong
Uses:
Passive
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Terra Levitation
Maleficent can cause the very ground she is standing up to remove itself from the rest of the earth(A top surface area of up to six meters diameter may be pulled up) and float into the air. Maleficent and anyone else on the enchanted object can then use it as an aerial vehicle, bale to move freely and elegantly. The mass' speed while rising or falling is relatively slow compared to those with the power of flight, but when moving in a straight horizontal direction it is much faster than a human runner. Depending on the surface that has been called up Maleficent can use it to ram into those beneath her notice as true opponents.
Strength:
Weak
Uses:
Unlimited. Maleficent may fall back to earth if she takes a large amount of damage while using this ability. If her ride is destroyed by the enemy then she can simply enchant more of the ground to do her bidding, but must wait at least two turns before she can do so again.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)
Meteors from Heaven
Maleficent uses her magic to create a rift in space itself: a large, swirling black portal eight meters in diameter. From this portal a single, bright blue burning meteorite the size of a car flies through. It hurtles in whatever direction the portal was aimed but will succumb to gravity if its own momentum is opposed for long. When the meteor crashes into the environment or an unlucky victim it creates an explosion in an area of five meters around it. After this blast the portal and meteor's mass both vanish from the world.
Strength:
Weak
Uses:
Maleficent must wait at least seven turns before she can cast this spell again.
**Maleficent’s power(s)/abilities cannot be used at maximum strength unless she her staff in hand or somewhere in the vicinity. (Five or ten feet away.)

~History~
As you slay the last of the beasts, you put your weapon aside, and walk away, knowing your tale of bravery will be told for thousands of years to come.
