"Here?"
He looked up, his neck cranking back until he could feel all the bulging muscles at the base of his collarbone strain. It wasn't until he squinted did he finally see the very tippy top of the building. The skyscraper gave off an indifferent neon glow, the windows dark and abandoned. The silver haired brother sniffled and raised an eyebrow. It was a large building that still seemed to be well intact.
But what does he know about it?
"It's empty?"

The light sound of a motorcycle purred and then ceased next to the burly man as its slow ride came to an end. The rider, wearing a matching black outfit and even sporting identical eyes and hair colour for the hat trick, dismounted and stood next to the taller man, somehow making his presence seem more intimidating through posture alone.
"This entire city is devoid of true life, brother," he said, pushing some strands out of his view with hsi right hand. "Why would this one be any different?"

Yazoo's bike died just a moment after Kadaj's, and he leaned back, straddling the seat. His eyes followed from the bottom floor up to the top, and then to the sky delving into thoughts better left out of conversation. Eyes rolled in their sockets down to the edges of their lids, and is if pulled by their gravity his head tilted in the direction of the youngest brother.
"Kadaj... You shouldn't have such cruelty, speaking to brother... It's not his duty to make simple observations." The everpresent lilting smirk upon his lips tilted up just slightly higher in the easy teasing.

Loz grunted, not sure if his brothers were making fun of him again or not. They've been getting tactically more subtle as time goes on. Sooner or later, this whole shenanigan was going to lose its appeal. Loz's simple thought process can't really pick up the insults if he was unclear of what the insult was in the first place.
"Humph. Even if there is people, we'll just kick them out, right?" Loz glance at the doors, which were shut tight.
"Can we go?" [/blockquote]

Kadaj didn't say anything to Loz's words. In both counts the eldest of the three was 100% correct. They needed a place of respite and, more importantly, a safe house. A place to hide out and gather what they needed. Their so far had been keeping the trio floating unpredictably. Here, in the Realm of Darkness, they would settle down. This place, this Memory Skyscraper... it would do.
Kadaj nodded to the others. It was time to move in.

Yazoo shook his head slightly, and dismounted from the bike. What a strange place to settle down, and yet it was oddly fitting. Sure it might need some new design work, and a newly broken lightbulb or two, but other than some minor aesthetic flaws, (which Yazoo might fixate on later) it was a good place to take over.
This was the general line of thought running through his mind as he stepped up the stairs to the skyscraper. With a twirl, he threw his arms open wide, and looked down upon his brothers. "It is... quiet here, brothers. Do you really think we'll meet resistance in a place like this?"

Loz tried the door.
Shut tight as he had expected.
"Kadaj said there's no life here," the large man fiddled with the door some more [fiddled in the sense of rattling and shaking] then decided to do what he does best.
He smashed the window. Reaching in, the eldest brother opened the door from the inside and kicked it open. Way to break in a house. Literally.
"Smells weird..." he sniffled, holding back a sneeze from the mildew as he peeked in. His cat-like green eyes surveyed the darkness and the drip drip of broken pipes in the distant walls. Something scuffled.
"It's not empty," Loz turned and raised an eyebrow at his brothers. It wasn't often that Kadaj was wrong about something. [/blockquote]

"I said there was no true life here, brothers," Kadaj answered with some weariness in his tone. had his choice of words really been so vague? Obviously he meant that something still lurked here. "But there are shadows, worthless remnants of life, that haunt this world. Of course, they shall not dare to oppose Mother's will."
Kadaj stood at the street still, between the two possible stairways that led to the entrance Loz and Yazoo now surveyed. After eh spoke Kadaj's eyes turned upward and he looked off to the sky left of the tower's mass. It was full of clouds, but no rain was falling. Still, Kadaj looked on as if he were able to see something beyond the veil.

Yazoo stalked around the middle platforms of memory skyscraper, jumping from the stairs entirely onto the lit platforms down the center of the building. Well of course there just had to be something there to disrupt the simple quiet. In this world of war and destruction no one could get a decent minute of sleep. Well, whatever. At least it wasn't boring. And it gave them a mission.
"Hah! I don't think anything could oppose Mother's will, little brother."

Loz, impatient as ever, was the first to walk in while his youngest brother daydreams and the other flit about the stairs. He wanted to see the inside of the building for himself. These remnants of life Kadaj spoke of. Were they heartless? Or something else the young man had yet to experience in his short life. Regardless, Loz was confident in his power to destroy anything in his path that obstructs them from their goal.
"Come on..." he called from inside, his voice echoing around the cement walls. Splish splosh. He was treading in water...? The disturbance, the first since the time when men populated this world, seemed to awaken something sleeping inside this skyscraper. Loz cocked his head. [/blockquote]

Kadaj continued to look into the sky from the street square before their would-be new home. He seemed very intent, yet after a few moments allowed himself a sly grin.
'There are others here with strong wills as well. They may need to be taught who's is truly superior.'
Putting his own musings aside for a moment the youngest brother finally turned his attention to the task at hand. The swordsman moved toward the stairs at his left, the side of his favoured hand, and walked leisurely up them to rejoin his siblings.
"Don't be scared of what lurks in the darkness, Loz," he said somewhat playfully, just barely loud enough for his brother to hear.

Yazoo looked between Kadaj and Loz and shrugged. Anyone looking at the three would hardly have considered them brothers. They bickered and quarreled, they ran around, cheated and stole and killed. But to Yazoo, they could never be anyone else. They were his family, and his brothers, and he'd kill to save them. Not that he had to. Loz could take care of himself perfectly well.
But now the dilemma was this. What was there for Yazoo to do? "So if the only issue is a bug problem, what are we doing now?"

"...Dun like spiders," Loz muttered quietly, hoping the other two didn't hear. Legs...too many of them. Striding in further, he glanced at the crumbling stairs. Huh...dun look very stable, especially for someone as bulky as Loz.
"We claim it as our own." Loz turned and grinned at Yazoo's question. Simple as that. This place, void of life, was theirs to keep.
From afar... "Well, well...what do we have here...?" A single yellow eye watched the three brothers enter the skyscraper. A figure stood miles and miles away, unnoticed by anything that move in this dead metropolis. Cocking his head, the black hooded figure barked a chuckle. The yellow marble, branded by a crossed bullseye swiveled and followed them, one by one as they headed into the building.
"Looks like we have some rats on our hands..." Number II turned, and disappeared in a poof of black sparkles. [/blockquote]

"I for one wish to take care of any necessary renovations. We shall sue the building as our own. Here we will store and safeguard what Mother needs and gather all that aids her. We must ensure that it can be defended," Kadaj answered Yazoo again and more competently than Loz had, in his own opinion.
As he turned to enter the building proper and join Loz he turned to Yazoo and added in an off-hand manner "Besides, first we have to pick to our rooms."
Kadaj smiled as he entered.

Yazoo smirked, looking up to the younger brother as if the wisdom of the world's was held between the both of them, and of course Loz too. Because even though they made fun of Loz endlessly, he was by no means stupid. Just simple. Simple in word and deed most certainly.
Yazoo's coat tails swished as he was the last to enter the building.
