Physical Appearance ~ :
Adelle stands at 5’4” and weighs [classified!] pounds. Her hair is perhaps her most distinct feature due to its silver hue. When open, it reaches down to nearly the end of her back, but more often than not it’s tied. While her individual hairs give her a straighter look, the entire locks and bangs form a curl that is especially notable near the ends.
Moving down from her hair, Adelle’s eyes give justice to her nickname as they are naturally a sharp, cat-like yellow that make no effort to hide a lust for money that many hapless men have mistaken for another type of lust. Her face has a cute roundness to it with a little nose, often accompanied by what appears to be a genuine smile to the untrained. Luckily, her cat obsession hasn’t transferred over into giving her any fangs. Although Adelle realizes having a tiny fang may help charm certain people.
As for her body, Adelle has a fairly thin frame. Her legs show just how physically fit she is more so than her skinny little arms, but that doesn’t stop her from throwing a mean punch. In her line of work, Adelle has worked hard to maintain an hourglass figure to make up for her lack of...er, “natural gifts”, shall we say? Still, her “gifts” have grown a good deal over the last two years. Plus in her own eyes, Adelle is strikingly beautiful as she is, so she doesn’t mind so much.
Clothing/Accessories ~ :
Adelle has no pre-set-all-purpose outfit. No, that would be a bad idea for someone who routinely works undercover. The only thing that is always there are the two mementos she keeps tied around her arms and her ribbon. Tied just above the elbow on her left arm is the High Seraph’s Plume (a purple ox-like crest) she obtained during her time in Clan Gully as a prize for a tournament. Around her right arm is the Corsage of Corruption (a white flowery thing) with some extra thread attached so Adelle can actually tie it that was originally worn by Luso. And her final always-there piece is the red ribbon she wears to keep her hair tied. They point up and have a lighter hue on the front that overall give Adelle the image of wearing red cat-ears from a distance.
As far as her style is concerned, Adelle will wear only top class clothing. Her favourite two brands are of course Galmia Pepe and Brint Mea, as they are from Ivalice, but she is willing to try clothes from top designers of other worlds as well. Of course, only if they are top designers. Can’t be seen in some low-grade outfit, now can she?
She does happen to have something she refers to as a “Battle Outfit”, which is probably what is most seen when expecting battle. It’s modeled after the outfit she normally wore in Clan Gully, but with a few alterations. The ribbon and two Scion Accessories are still in place. The main point of her outfit is a pink sleeveless dress that drops just below the knees in ruffles. Apart from a yellow cross-like crest across her chest, there is a black cat-head pin across the left strap of her dress. The dress is cut to about two inches above her chest. She wears a white quarter-sleeve Galmia Pepe coat that stops just below her waist (and contains many inside pockets for storing loot). Across her waist await two black belts forming an X with each other. They don’t hold any purpose in terms of keeping clothing up, but they have various little bags on the back of them (covered by her coat)to store loot or Munny. She also wears a maroon gauntlet on each hand that stretches to just below her elbow. Each finger on the gauntlet has hidden spikes that can be activated through a discharge of Mist at will as a secret weapon. Her legs are covered by black, somewhat transparent tights and her Brint Mea boots: brown, just below ankle, no visible laces or patterns, slight heel. Finally, she has two diamond shaped silver earrings (one in each ear, I mean).
Also, with the inexplicable new ability to summon her weapons out of thin air Adelle no longer carries sheaths for her blades.
In certain worlds, her appearance changes on its own...
Atlantica
Much to her surprise, this watery world doesn’t transform Adelle into a mermaid. No, it doesn’t even transform her into a catfish. Somehow she turns into a dolphin. Yes, a dolphin. She retains her sharp yellow cat-like eyes and wears her trademark ribbon over his left fin. Otherwise, she’s just a normal looking white dolphin, if not a slightly small one.
Halloween Town
Entering the town of everlasting Halloween puts Adelle in a permanent cat outfit. Specifically, her ribbon is replaced by real black cat ears while whiskers are painted onto her face. Her hands turn into black claws, and a black tail (with her ribbon tied on the end) grows out as well. Luckily she doesn’t gain any of the cat’s fur outside of her claws. As for her actual clothing, she ends up in a black sleeveless top that ends just above her belly button. A sleeveless fishnet top is worn over this. For her legs, she gains a fairly plain black skirt that stops above her knees and finds four belts tied around each of her legs. Finally, her footwear becomes boots that resemble black cat feet. Her two Scion Accessories remain in their proper place.
Christmas Town
A very classic Santa outfit becomes Adelle’s upon entering this winter wonderland. She has the red Santa cap with its fuzzy white-ness to keep her warm and sadly cover her ribbon. She also has a red and white dress fashioned after the Santa outfit, this one being shoulder less and stopping around her knees. Adelle’s boots are red and have bells on them (really annoying if she’s trying to steal something), and she also has green gloves on with cat-prints on them.
Pride Lands
This world gives Adelle a much more fitting animal transformation; a white tiger. Apart from the red ribbon tied as a collar around her neck, she’s almost unidentifiable from other white tigers.
Space Paranoids
The computer-esque world replaces Adelle’s ribbon with a very annoying helmet. Other than that, her outfit turns blue and seems to give off a glow similar to UV light, but is otherwise the same. No tail this time.
Timeless River
Retro time. Losing her colour, Adelle ends up with all her clothes looking black to distinguish from her body looking white. Her eyes seem to be simple vertical lines, though black now. Her jacket disappears but a black dress, black boots, and black gloves remain. A tail also inexplicably appears, the colour being - you guessed it - black! Her hair also turns black, much to Adelle’s annoyance.

[/size][/blockquote]Alignment ~ : Chaotic Neutral
Behaviour ~ :
Adelle is nowhere near as cold as one would think after the initial “she robbed me!” event occurs. True, she has a weakness for money, but there’s much more to her than that. Due to her upbringing, Adelle doesn’t have the greatest of faith in people, and is therefore able to prevent herself from making a meaningful connection to people if she so chooses. And without really caring about someone, the cat-girl can loot them with no damage to her conscious. But that is not to say she doesn’t care about anyone.
No, on the contrary. When she cares about someone, she really cares about someone. Even if she will never admit it with her words, her actions prove this. A true friend can expect her aid on the verge of death, or to get her to charm her way through a difficult situation in for them. Though expect her to throw in as many sarcastic comments and general insults in the process. She has an image to protect, after all.
Still, it takes a long time for her to truly consider someone a friend considering the amount of people that have hurt her in the past.
Speaking of hurting, one should be aware that Adelle prefers words and general stealth over straight-out fighting. Although when push comes to shove, she will strike you down. But a little bit of clever wordplay can get much further than violence, as well as avoid making such a great scene. And of course even the greatest of fighters can be robbed this way without risking any damage.
She does have enough morals to avoid doing certain things for money; she’s hardly a money-addict. Never will she hire herself out to assassinate someone, for example.
Like everyone, she has her personality flaws (besides simply money). She has great confidence in herself. Such great confidence that she tends to underestimate others and make sharp comments about them. She’s also a sucker for sweet food and high class food in general. And of course she loves cats. One would be surprised at how much easier it is to manipulate her holding a single cat as a hostage as opposed to multiple humans. But not dogs. No, she hates those stupid mutts.

Primary Weapon
ID: Dual Wield: Tiptaptwo and Chirijiraden
Quality: Average
In battle, Adelle wields both the Tiptaptwo and Chirijaden at once in a seemingly improvised style that borrows from...well, pretty much just any sword fighter Adelle has seen. She tends to use the shorter Tiptaptwo knife in front of her as to stab (and as a sort of shield) while keeping the Chirijaden longsword ready in her right hand to cut through when she sees an opening.
The Tiptaptwo is a knife and the memento of a recently deceased Gifted named Viola. Adelle received the blade when she helped fight off a man named Gade who was searching for Viola. It’s purple in its entirety, but the blade is lighter than the hilt. The hilt is also shaped like a V, and the very end of it is brown
The Chirijaden is a sacred blade given to Adelle by the prophet Hilo. Originally used because of its innate ability to strike from a distance being if great use against the Magic Weapon, it has since lost the ability but maintains a sharp edge. It has a basic silver colour in both blade and hilt, but the blade has three black lines diagonally laying across it.
Secondary Weapon
ID: Cat Claws
Her gauntlets hide claws within them that give great power to her punches (and allow for scratching). Normally hidden, Adelle only has to discharge a little Mist within her body to get them out as a sort of trigger.

[Adelaide]
An ability born of her own will. Her will to live. To survive. To protect.
Adelle’s personal Gifted ability, this creates a barrier to block attacks. The barrier is in the form of a purple, transparent dome around the target. In terms of blocking abilities, it can block 3 Weak Abilities before fading, 2 Moderate Abilities / Weapon Attacks and 1 Strong Ability. This can be created around Adelle or anyone else she chooses that is fairly close, but the barrier protects only one person at a time (it’s about 6 feet wide/tall). The target can still move while in the barrier, but using any offensive techniques will break the barrier. Assuming no damage is taken, each barrier lasts 3 turns. Note that if Adelle casts the barrier on someone else but continues fighting herself, the barrier will still be in effect, but will fade after 2 turns.
Strength: Moderate
Uses: 5 Times per Thread
Charge Time: None
Cooldown:Can’t attack while the barrier is up around you, 2 Posts between barrier creation
[Lennart]
Sends out a pulse of brilliant light, damaging all in its path.
As the description says, this attack sends out what is essentially a light-based laser. The laser travels above ground, not on it, and has weak homing properties (at the very least, it can turn once nearly 90 Degrees to strike the enemy). The yellow beam is, like any laser, very fast. It can travel up to 20 feet before fading, but will explode upon contact with any object. This includes mirrors; don’t think you can reflect this like some vintage cartoon hero. About the size of a hand, but a basic line in shape.
Strength: Weak
Uses: 5 Times per Thread
Charge Time: Shot in the same post as created
Cooldown: Only 1 per post
[Viola]
Manifest the user’s sorrow into a burst of energy.
An inherent ability, Viola provides a boost in strength and speed as Adelle is more damaged. While most people grow less powerful as a battle wages on due to fatigue, Adelle can actually channel that fatigue into energy and gain more pure power when she’s on the ropes. It is not a particularly large boost, but it can help balance out the probably loss in skill from fatigue by putting more power into each punch and letting her move away from attacks quicker. No particular appearance due to its Passive nature.
Strength: Weak
Passive
[Ljda]
Entices foes with the softest of whispers.
A status-based attack. The status in question is, of course, Charm. But it’s nowhere near as broken as the game version. Through a mixture of Mist in her body, Adelle can emit a fragrance that seeks to strike the hormones of those close to her. By close to her, I mean within at most five feet. The ability has no particular appearance added, but the smell is distinct (though usually once you’ve smelled it, you’re under Adelle’s spell). Also has a slightly different temperature than the body, so those with heat-sensing equipment can pick it up. It works quite strongly against NPCs, able to completely wash away any hatred they feel towards Adelle and therefore stop attacking. Against actual PCs, it aims to do the same thing at a lower effect. Namely it makes them less willing to attack if they are within a 5 foot radius of her and selected by Adelle as the "target". For example, if an enemy runs at Adelle with a sword and she uses this move, they may hesitate to swing. They will eventually swing, but during their moment of hesitation Adelle can get an attack of her own in. Lasts 3 posts or until either Adelle or the target is hit. The cat-girl usually adds her own natural charming abilities in with this as well, though whether that has an additional effect depends on the target.
Strength: Weak
Uses: 3 Times per Thread
Charge Time: Takes effect in the first post of target after use
Cooldown: Must wait at least 3 posts in between usesItems

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When asked about their history, many people will probably say something like “Well, things were normal at first, until one day” and go off on a tangent from there.
But things aren’t like that for Adelle.
She was never normal.
As long as she could remember, Adelle had a “Gift”. In retrospect, it was a great Gift. It gave her the ability to learn at an impossibly fast rate. It was the explanation for how she learned how to read before most people learned how to walk. Things just came naturally to the little silver-haired girl, whether they were mental or physical in nature.
But at least it wasn’t bad at first. She could recall living with her parents who were proud of their talented daughter. And Adelle herself being a kid didn’t realize the implications of her Gift either.
But nobody else was quite so kind. When she entered an Ivalice public school, her fellow classmates soon realized how different she was. And for a kid, different means bad, so she had trouble making friends. But things just got worse as she grew older. As her classmates grew to be more aware, they went from avoiding her because she was different to hating her because they were jealous. Eventually Adelle got to the point where even her teachers became envious and hated her.
This is the point in the story where people usually go “Oh, but she didn’t hate them back. She just wanted to be friends!”.
But again, this is not an ordinary story.
Sure, at the very beginning Adelle just wanted friends. But that quickly faded, as she determined friends were boring and generally not worth her time. Why should she be friends with idiots who would just slow her down, right? Her classmate’s hatred was met with her own, and by the time Adelle was thirteen she left school. It was a waste of time by then; her teachers refused to teach her anything.
By this point her parents were no longer around, so Adelle had to live herself. A difficult task for a thirteen year old, but Adelle’s Gift proved helpful. She learned the arts of the thief and managed to make a surprisingly great living, all things considered. Her earnings let her buy clothes from top designers and explore the world, and she even made a reputation for herself as the head-hunter Adelle the Cat (named after her affinity for cat-like clothing). With her efforts focused on stealing, she nearly forgot about her Gift entirely.
But at fourteen she found herself caught by a seemingly normal clan known as Clan Gully. She had robbed them days earlier, and the clans two leaders Cid and Luso had come back to reclaim their winnings. As she had already spent them, she decided to pay this clan back by joining their cause and doing missions with them. After all, making a pact with the Judge prevented her from being killed, and she realized it would be fun to pose as a friend to these idiots before getting away with their loot. They weren’t worth her time, right?
Wrong.
Cid and Luso were anything but ordinary.
Cid was an ex-member of the powerful crime syndicate Khamja who were trying to plunge the world into chaos for their own means.
And Luso had traveled here from another world through the Grimoire of the Rift, which Khamja was after. And more importantly for that, she found herself...actually becoming friends with her clan mates. They didn’t treat her horribly despite her efforts to steal from them. And they had no knowledge of her Gift.
But the Archsage Lezaford saw her Gift, and said he wanted to train her. Not wanting her clan mates to find out and become jealous, Adelle left Clan Gully in the hopes of becoming a thief again, but found herself put under a spell by Khamja’s leader Illua. Now hypnotized, she couldn’t stop herself from seeking out Luso and trying to steal his Grimoire, despite being completely aware of what was happening. If it came to a fight, she was afraid only one of the two would come out alive.
But again she was wrong when Luso broke through the spell with his words. He really seemed to care about her, much to the catgirl’s surprise. So she rejoined Clan Gully and accepted Lezaford’s aid in honing her Gifted instincts. After learning the techniques of the past Gifted, she learned one born of her own power, and realized that this really was a Gift. Because she could use it to help Luso.
Eventually the final clash came, with Luso’s Grimoire almost full and ready to transport him home. And Illua ready to steal the Grimoire. Adelle knew that if they won this fight, Luso would return home. She knew she would lose the one person who meant the most to her. But it was because he meant so much to her that she realized he had to go. If he could be happy, wasn’t that enough? Wasn't that what it meant to truly love someone?
At the end of the battle, Luso said his goodbyes and left with his Grimoire for his own world, leaving behind only the Corsage of Corruption which Adelle took as a keepsake. She stayed with Clan Gully, where she had formed some strong friendships (especially with the Moogle bard Hurdy), but after two years left to be on her own again.
Well, that wasn’t exactly right. She left to find a way to travel between worlds, just as Luso had. In essence, she just wanted to find him. But the path to other worlds would come at a price, as Adelle would soon find out herself...
