As you are heading out the door of your house, a small glimmer of light catches your eye. You turn around and see a mirror, putting you face to face with your reflection.

Physical appearance ~ : Standing at 5'3, Akira is not a very threatening person when you first see her. She leans more on the petite side for stature with semi-developed lean muscle from all the running around she does. Her hair is dark brown, almost black and a bit past to her shoulders. It is layered and spiky and she often ties back into a pony tail right before battle (this often causes some hair to stay on the sides of her face, along with her short bangs). Her eyes are light blue in color and are seen as quite cold.

Clothing/Accessories ~ : She is typically seen wearing a black outfit, tight long sleeve with looser black pants, with some small armor(mainly upper arms and waist). Black half-gloves that go are on her hands at all times to protect them, the gloves going up to the middle of her fore-arm. A black ribbon is tied around her right forearm, which she often uses to tie her hair back when she needs to. The only thing that doesn't really tie in with this image are her black, flat bottom sneakers; she has a thing for them.

~Personality~

As you're walking through the door, you see many sights that influence your mood. The different feelings that suddenly wash over you are many, leaving you with a strange mix of emotions.

Alignment ~ : Neutral.

Behavior ~ : Akira's behavior is what one would call rational. She uses logic a lot and tries to do "what makes sense". Naturally, emotion gets in the way of this often enough and she does all she can to fight it. Happiness is a rare thing to see from her and often doesn't last long; she tends to be a bit happier when she is around her younger brother. Anger is probably the only thing she has a tough time keeping in check, her temper hard to reel in once it flares. She's gotten better, but if anyone makes her seriously angry, she won't relent. Dishonesty and disloyalty are usually what will get her angrier.

In large crowds of people, she is often reserved and quiet, only speaking when necessary. Around smaller groups, she will speak more. She can put up with almost anyone except extreme egotists and ignorant, able to put up with the occasional liar or two. Her speech is often seen as semi-formal and with an air of confidence, though sometimes awkward.

If given the fight or flight option, it depends on what Akira sees fit. She tends to lean towards the fight option, especially if she is fighting to protect someone; she is very protective of just about everything. She will only choose flight if she sees the fight as unnecessary and/or she sees it as too much of a challenge; though, she will never admit the second one. She has a great sense of pride that she doesn't like letting go of most of the time, and can sometimes succumb to arrogance.

Akira's katana is her main weapon of choice, its length coming to about twenty five inches. The blade is slightly curved and is usually seen on her back outside of battle. Because of its shortness compared to other katanas, Akira is able to use it a bit quicker. Her blows are not as heavy because of this, but she is definitely great with combining attacks.

Akira's wakizashi is a rare see since she never brings it on the battlefield except on rare occasions. The weapon itself is shorter than most katanas, about twenty-two inches, and has a slightly curved blade. She rarely uses this weapon because of its intended purpose, beheading, since she does not like to kill. She chooses to use it as a close combat weapon, if needed.

Just as you're about to fight the creature, you feel the power of your ancestors filling you. The strength of a thousand men courses through your veins as you prepare for battle.

Samurai Speed
The ability is a short speed boost, affecting how fast Akira runs and the speed of her attacks. It mainly gears toward her combination attacks, making them slightly faster. She will get in between 10-12 combined attacks per fifteen seconds or so during the speed boost compared to her usual 4-8.

Strength: Weak
Uses: It will last for up to two posts unless broken, which involves breaking one of her attacks. If this is done, it will leave about three seconds where she is vulnerable to attack.

High Jump
This allows Akira to jump higher in the air, about two feet total at the most. She uses this mainly to dodge attacks or to get to a higher point to see her enemies better.

As you slay the last of the beasts, you put your weapon aside, and walk away, knowing your tale of bravery will be told for thousands of years to come.

Akira's childhood is best described as being twisted. At first, she lived a rather normal life with her parents and younger brother. However, her family was not a peaceful one. Feuds often broke out between her parents and their relatives, typically her mother's sister. She claimed that their family "lived in darkness" and that their hearts would be corrupted by it; Akira's family would always deflect it back to them.

She did not understand what they meant when they said this, so being a naturally curious four year old, she asked. Her mother self-righteously explained it as the darkness being 'bad things' and 'evil' that sits in someone's heart; their heart had none of the bad things and stayed in the light, which was good. Not knowing what else to believe, Akira took this to heart and believed it.

While the family feuds stayed rather quiet after that, things took a change for worse a couple of years later when Akira was around six. That same sister, alongside her husband, broke into the Shinomori home and kidnapped her. She was told not to be frightened; they were bringing her to safety and away from the supposed "darkness".

It wasn't a lie, for they did bring her to safety. Their home was on the other side of town and safe. Akira's aunt told her that she would be staying here from now on. When Akira asked why, the aunt explained how the darkness was corrupting their hearts and they would sooner or later become Heartless, creatures that come from the darkness in people's hearts. The Heartless were nasty creatures and needed to be destroyed so they would not grow in number. "And I'm going to teach you how Akira."

Her sword-training started almost immediately after that, her aunt teaching her the way of the sword and how she ought to be. If Akira's thinking was "wrong", irrational to the aunt, she would be criticized for it. If she was ever caught lying, she would be severely punished. When she let her emotions cloud her vision, her aunt would tell her to put them in the back of her mind. "A berserk man with a sword is a lot easier to bring down than a calm man." Her aunt taught her to be fast and relentless in her attacks, never to back down from a fight unless it was absolutely necessary. Akira trusted her and listened to her advice.

This was how she was forced to grow up, learning to think rationally and use her head without ever thinking about her parents. Her aunt made sure to keep her thoughts distracted enough so they would not ever cross her mind, or at least rarely at best. It worked until she was about sixteen when weird things started to happen. The Heartless were starting to grow in number and they were spreading around the town. Akira couldn't put her finger on why they were or what was going on, though everything seemed rather suspicious.

Her suspicions were proven true after she came home one day. The aunt's husband, who was a lot greedier than he let on to be, turned into a Heartless himself. The aunt could only be seen grinning for some odd reason. "It was gonna happen sooner or later-- the bastard was too greedy for his own good. I probably won't be far behind him." Akira, not understanding, continued to question her aunt who she was led to believe lived in the light. "I did at one point or another. It used to be different. Things have changed a lot since you were young." She then pressed about her parents, who she thought were 'sooner or later going to turn into Heartless'. "Pah, as if! They were too far into the light, oblivious to any darkness around them. They didn't know any better. That's why we took you in you know. We wanted you to do some good for this world, not just sit in the light and be Heartless bait."

These words hurt Akira, who reacted in anger and swung her sword at her aunt. Her blade met that of another sword; her aunt was quick. They continued to battle, Akira's skills matching her aunts. She got a few blows in, and that was it. Her aunt had gotten too slow in her age. She fell to the ground with Akira's wakizashi against her neck, ready to do what it was supposed to do. It never did though, instead going back into its sheathe. She never could be a killer. She turned her back on her aunt and walked out of the house, trying not to listen to her words. "This is why you'll fail wielding that sword. You will fall into darkness right behind me, you'll see!" Ever since then, Akira has been on her own and mistrusting of others, fighting the Heartless when she needed to, and someday hoping to meet her parents. To this day, she is not sure whether she is more light than dark, or vice versa, but she won't let herself be corrupted by darkness; not yet.
