"Gosh, I sure do make Minnie put up with a lot when I'm away," the King of Disney Castle said sheepishly to himself. The black-haired mouse scratched his head with his free left hand, the right one busy holding a quill pen. It was scribbling away at a long piece of parchment, one of many stacked up on his desk in one of his many work rooms. It seemed that even in the paradise of Disney Castle the Cornerstone of Light couldn't banish paperwork from the world. Still, the King sighed happily as he finished off the latest necessary document. His thoughts had turned to his beloved Queen.
"I know!" His Majesty thought aloud with a burst of vigor. "I should get her a present to thank her for looking after the castle while I was gone! Something really special! What do you think, boy?"
The last line was directed towards his faithful dog Pluto, resting comfortably on the floor next to the desk. He had been sleeping mostly but Mickey enjoyed the company and it gave him someone to talk to. At hearing the Queen's name and the suggestion to follow Pluto's ears perked up and he looked up happily at his master, nodding with enthusiasm.
"Well then, no time to waste!" Mickey declared, leaping off of his chair and making for the door. The important papers were already looked after. The rest could wait a bit. Pluto quickly scurried to his feet and followed after the King's lead.
***
Not long after this Mickey Mouse found himself on the clean streets of the castle town, dressed in his traveling outfit, a design by the Good fairies that was very similar to Sora's but more red than black. Pluto walked beside him, occasionally stopping to sniff at a hydrant or bark at another pet passing by.
'I just know there's something Minnie will love out here somewhere,' His Majesty thought with confidence as he looked into one florist's window, right hand caressing his bare chin.
Flowers? Maybe, but not as the main gift. He wanted something that would really make an impression.

"How could I forget it was her birthday" the blonde young man muttered to himself. Forcing his way through the crowd in a gentle manner using one hand, he had an anxious expression on his face that was very rare. The normal cool and calm Clovis had been replaced by a cowardly wimp. Whenever Sierra was concerned he would give up without a fight. "She really has me under the thumb" he murmured to himself once again as he let out a little snigger. In his eyes he was the luckiest man alive to be engaged to her. They hadn't set a date yet but still, knowing that neither of them could come back alive after a collection spree from the moogles didn't seem to phase either of them in the slightest.
Dressed in his usual gear of a green jacket with a lighter green scarf and unusual coat accompanied by cream coloured pants and sandy coloured boots, he now had a beaming smile spread across his face. Ice blue orbs scanned all around him to try and pick out a store that showed some sort of promise for a gift. In truth he had no idea what the hell she wanted and to be honest anything would have done. If Sierra ever found out that he had forgotten he may have found himself feeling a little less of a man after certain parts of his body would undoubtedly be removed. The thought of that was rather terrifying but he believed she was none the wiser.
Allowing a deep sigh to escape his lips after his search in a fairly averagely priced jewelry shop came to nothing, he left the shop after thanking the clerk. "If I was a hot girl...what would I want. Perfume?" he quizzed himself aloud. A woman dressed in lower class clothes stared at him rather bewildered at his statement after obviously hearing him. Returning a 'what you looking at' glance to her she quickly got on her way and disappeared amongst the crowds. "Nah, she's got a whole cupboard full anyway..." he noted relinquishing the idea from his mind. It wasn't a particularly busy day today but there was quite a few people out and about.
He was coming up towards the Castle grounds now, looming in the distance a silent guardian to the world. There had been little trouble here or so his MAD [ Moogle Assisted Device ] told him. Taking it out of its usual stowing place, he flicked a few buttons with his gloved hands. Continuing walking at a much slower pace he continued to flick around using his fingers and delving deeper into this worlds data file. However the shopping tab seemed to be of little help and with another sigh equally as deep as previous he went to stash it back in his pocket. Unfortunately he hadn't looked where he was going and walked directly into a small object. Or so he thought.
Clovis toppled completely over the King and yelled a cursing word as he fell. Landing hard on the floor he got to his feet almost straight away and brushed himself off immediately. Soon after he realized he had walked into some kind of humanoid creature, he extended his left hand ( after stowing his MAD ) to offer help to get back up. "So sorry about that, wasn't looking where I was going. You OK?" he said at the same time as offering his hand. He did seem a little shocked at the actual appearance of this creature...whatever it was.

Well, here we are. The King of Disney Castle can sense an enemy threat as instinctively as he breathes, navigate an impossibly deadly World of Darkness by sheer skill and effort, but still not notice a man walk too close until its too late for him to be tripped over. Well, it was His Majesty's own fault really. In the midst of passing by one of his favourite bakeries the smell of fresh treats had ensnared Mickey's mind. Standing in the middle of the sidewalk the mouse had lifted his nose and soaked in the smells, happily oblivious to the world around him as he imagined how much he would enjoy sharing one of their cakes with his Queen until, well, you know... "that" happened.
"Aw shucks. I guess I shouldn't have just stood there like that," Mickey answered the stranger with a kind greeting as he took the offered hand and got back to his feet. "The name's Mickey Mouse. Pleased to meet you!"
Several of the nearby citizens of the castle town(ALL of them present, actually. Each and every one of them a cartoon animal of some kind to boot!) stopped to look over at the sound of the collision and kept staring when they saw who had been hit. After the King's dismissal of the event as partially his own fault, however, everyone simply broke their gaze and happily moved on. It wasn't as if any of them had expected any less from the mouse, but they still figured it proper to pay attention to His Majesty when they could. Honestly, he wished they wouldn't choose to do so when it was an embarrassing moment like this. 'They'll have a laugh down at the Daily Trumpet,' he thought with a chuckle.
"Well, I know I'm not the tallest man in town," Mickey continued after his introduction, wiping dust off his clothes before looking back up. "But I don't think I'm small enough to be missed so easily either. My guess is, you're a man with something on his mind!"
The King ventured this informally but with enthusiasm. Whether the stranger decided to accept this as an invitation to reciprocate or not was up to him. The mouse sure did have a friendly smile, though.

Gogo looked about the town he'd come to. She had been exploring the different worlds recently, using the last of the Gil he had on her person.
He had gotten a few odd looks because of her attire, yes, but that was nothing that he wasn't used to.
As she walked through the street, he saw the man, obviously on offworlder like herself, trip over the mouse, who was anthropomorphic like most of the residents of the world.
Hurrying slightly, he walked up to the two in time to hear Mickey's comment to the man. As he finished, Gogo quietly interjected her own sentence, in the quiet, whispery tone that he always used.
"Ah, are you two okay? That looked like a very uncomfortable fall for you two."

Immediately Clovis felt a warm radiance coming from him as his words left his lips. Something he only really felt when he was around Sierra, however this wasn't the same but more of a dulled sensation. "How selfless" were the thoughts that came to his mind straight away after the King had blamed him self. Upon grabbing the mouse's hand this feeling of warmth only increased which gave Clovis a real sense of security. He was one of the good guys and he could just tell. He had a nack for these things. After introducing himself the man in green almost immediately noticed the crowd staring. A sense of awkwardness replaced the warm feeling in his stomach.
Many thoughts crossed his mind at first. Perhaps because he wasn't an anthropomorphic like the rest of the worlds inhabitants or maybe it was the curse word he had used upon hitting the hard floor. Before he had time to come round to a conclusion on the matter the town returned to its normal ways and life carried on. "Er, Clovis Mikain" he said with a shaky tone about his voice. A feeling of uneasiness came over him upon saying his name. That incident had been quite significant to everyone in town so something wasn't quite right with this person, or mouse.
Paranoia kicked in per usual and Clovis found himself being cautious once again. After Mickey explained about his height and the surprisingly correct guess about his state of mind, the synthesis hunter's interest was piqued. "Maybe I'm over thinking this and he's just a genuine nice guy" he mentally noted. Once the vertically challenged person had finished Clovis scratched the back of his head in embarrassment with a cheeky smile spread across his face. "Yea...again, so sorry about that" Clovis said with an almost flinching expression on his face. He was now quite embarrassed about the whole escapade which was unusual.
Realizing that he had been asked a question, Clovis composed himself again taking a step back away from the King ( unbeknown to him ) to give him some more space. "Actually your right. I'm looking for a gift for my fiance...and I have no idea what to get her" he said with a beaming smile on his face. This was more a bewildered expression than anything. As another person approached, he couldn't help the feeling that this place was becoming overcrowded but he would bear with it for now.
Looking the person up and down, he seemed to be like Clovis in the 'normal' sense meaning not from this world. Despite the fact he felt this person was being a little too concerned for a random person, he decided to indulge him. "I've had better falls...like onto my bed for instance" he chuckled with a friendly smile on his face. This was all just a mask at the moment. He needed to gauge this new person and their intentions. For some reason he hadn't done the same for the mouse. Clovis hadn't noticed this but in truth it was down the King's warm heart that put his mind at ease with all traces of that previous paranoia dispersed.

"Golly! What a coincidence!" the King said with child-like interest after Clovis' answer to his probe. Mickey was in a similar situation himself! When two men in need of help for the same thing found each other it only made sense to combine their efforts, right?
Before His Majesty could explain exactly what he meant though a third body appeared to enter the mix. unlike Clovis however Mickey didn't automatically see concern for the well-being of strangers as suspicious and smiled pleasantly at the well-wrapped individual.
"Hehehe," came a squeaky laugh. The King seemed to find Clovis' joke abotu falling into bed quite amusing. If there was one thing he loved(Besides Minnie, of course) it was a good sense of humour. "No worries! I might be small but I'm pretty tough!" the King said with a hint of pride, placing both hands at his waist in a masculine pose as he tried to look as tall as was possible for him. After the little display of wishful posture however one of Mickey's white glove rose up to his chin, a thoughtful expression dawning on the mouse's hairless face.
"Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen you two around before. Are you new in town?" he asked, face turning friendly and inquisitive again at the end of the sentence. The fact that Clovis and Gogo were both NOT animals that walked and talked like people didn't seem to be treated by Mickey as obvious reason for them to not be from around these parts.

Gogo nodded slightly to Mickey's question.
"Yes, I have been recently traveling to see different worlds. I've been fascinated by what I've seen recently. This world however, is one of the most peaceful and normal I've seen though."
Stopping, Gogo's eyes widened as he realized something.
"My dearest apologies, but I don't recall introducing myself. Most impolite of me. My name is Gogo, wandering mime. It's a pleasure to meet both you, Clovis, and you, Mickey."
She then extended both hands, one to Mickey and one to Clovis.

"Oh?" the blonde man remarked at the mention of a co-incidence. His eyebrow raised in interest at the statement but unfortunately for him this wouldn't be touched upon again at least for the moment anyway. After proclaiming that he was tougher than he looked, Clovis tried his best to hide a snigger. "I seriously doubt that..." he thought to himself without giving too much away. Obviously he had no idea who Mickey was and what he was capable of. Soon after the King showed some interest in where the two of them were from. They did stand out like a sore thumb in this crowd, from whom they were still getting dodgy looks.
He allowed the third person who introduced herself as Gogo to finish taking her hand when it was offered in a friendly shake. "The pleasure is all mine..." he replied with a very slight sinister tone about his voice. However this was not the case of his thoughts what-so-ever. Clovis did have trouble with his mannerisms when it came to new people. Comes on a little too strong at times. It took a few seconds to register in his head about what Gogo had mentioned. "A mime? For real?" he mentally conversed with himself.
This little monologue was cut short as he realized he was meaning to provide an explanation for his presence. "Well..." the blonde man began whilst scratching his head. "I'm a synthesis hunter...and I was told that you can get Light Shards on the cheap here. I just also happened to forget the 'missus' birthday so on a little gift recon as well" he laughed rather nervously at the end. He had reminded himself of what Sierra would do to him if she ever found out that he had forgotten. His expression turned into a vacant one as his eyes glazed over thinking of the thought. The mental image was not pretty. Once more he snapped himself out of his own thoughts and turned to Mickey whilst lowering his head to look at his face. "What about you?" he asked in a 'sorry-for-being-nosy' kind of way. Gogo had already explained her reasons why so she was temporarily ignored for the moment.

"Actually I was trying to find a gift for my Minnie too," the mouse explained to Clovis with a smile. That would also probably explain his comment before Gogo showed up as well. "Why don't we look together? I know all the good places in town and..."
Mickey trailed off on his offer after making it and started to look around the street left and right, his expression changing to one of confusion.
"What? Pluto? Where'd you go boy? Pluto!" the King said, calling his beloved pet's name louder the second time and cupping his hands around his mouth. "Now where did that troublemaker wander off to this time?"
Mickey placed both hands against his hips and tapped his foot impatiently as he looked down the street, wondering if his dog would appear in sight at any moment. He wore a frown that was genuine, but not too angry. As much as Mickey might not like to admit it, Pluto inherited his adventurous and mischievous nature from his master, after all.

At first Clovis was a little pleased that Mickey seemed to know his way around. Even more so that he offered to help pick a gift with him. Of course he would return the favor so he would need to inquire about his partner. This would also apply to the King as well. Seeing that some brightly coloured orange dog came out of nowhere, he sensed some sort of agitation within the King's voice. But something else also lingered in that tone. It was affection, and a general concern for its well being. Clovis pieced together almost instantly that this was his dog, even before he started speaking to it. Never before had he met and individual so pure hearted...other than Sierra of course.
With a cheerful smile on his face he took a few steps over to the King. "So...dog sitting then shopping?" he asked in a more joking manner. The hunter felt he could trust this individual completely. He just seemed to glow with trust and everything that was good in people. His statement had been an acceptance of the proposal put forward by Mickey. So once they had the Pluto situation solved, they could continue one they're merry way.
