Akira wondered how Twilight Town could look at the same sunset everyday and not think much of it. It was a serene thing all its own and made the world quite picturesque. If Twilight Town were not a bustling city with too many people, she would almost want to call it home. She could barely call Radiant Garden home, even though that was where she was born and raised. There was just something about it that didn't sit well with her that made her want to leave every time she arrived...
She sighed, putting these dull thoughts aside as she pushed herself off of the wall she was leaning on. Market Street was beginning to get a tad boring for her. Perhaps there was something a bit more interesting in Tram Common...

Well, depending on her interests, but there was something definitely interesting. A 6'7" dragon-man stood in the center of a group of Shadow Heartless, fifteen in total. They stood several feet away, twitching, as if waiting for him to make the first move. Holding his twin katana in his hands, Arc's face bore a smile. He was not going to make the first move, regardless of the Heartless' expectations.
The dark creatures soon realized this, and they charged simultaneously, leaping into the air at the drake. He was prepared for this, however, and slashed his blades in a full circle, blocking the assault of the black creatures and sending them all to the ground around him, only two of them destroyed. The rest got up quickly and charged back at him soon enough, but Arc was ready again for the onslaught. Erg, I need help. These creatures just keep coming. Heartless...before, he had known almost nothing about them, but his knowledge was expanding at they continued to attack him. The little he knew was being compounded slowly...
Slashing the Heartless back again, not destroying any more of them, Arc deflected the remaining Shadows, sending them all around him, and they began to scurry and attack randomly. "Help would be appreciated!" he shouted, blades working a furious frenzy around him.

Her eyes quickly caught the action going on in Tram Common; Heartless, and they seemed to be crowding around a rather tall dragon man. He wasn't attacking them, instead waiting for them to make the first move. They did, and he was ready with his twin katana. She raised an eyebrow in curiosity, taking out her own blade from her side. If she needed to, she would help him. If not, she would stand back and watch the Heartless attempt to take him down.
The tenacious little Shadows kept coming back and he asked for help. She nodded her head, quickly running in front of a couple of the Shadows and swiping them with her blade. The attack managed to destroy one of them, but the other came right back for more.
"They just like to keep coming back..." she commented idly. Shadows were the first breed of Heartless she had ever run across in Radiant Garden; the most common of them all, yet the most obstinate. "Kind of odd that they would show up here..." From what she remembered, Heartless weren't all that common in Twilight Town. Then again, she never really stayed anywhere that long to learn enough about it.

Arc nodded. They only showed up here because he was here, not for any other reason. He could tell this by the newcomer's surprise. She appeared to be wielding a katana, smaller than his but similar in structure. Of course, his were a bit different than the average katana, but that was a given.
Swiping his blades at the Heartless that still swarmed him, Arc gave the girl a small smile of thanks. She may have been young, but he was young as well! Perhaps not by human standards, but by his peoples' standards he was very young indeed. And she appeared quite proficient with her weapon of choice. Almost as proficient as he himself was. Turning back to the Heartless, Arc slashed through two more of the creatures, bringing both of his blades down on a third.
"You are correct. These creatures are not indigenous to this area." The third fell to his blade and he backed up to stand nearer to the newcomer, blocking the Heartless' assault. These Shadows are insistent, yet I am more so. "They appear to follow me everywhere, for reasons I cannot fathom."

Akira raised an eyebrow to this. It wasn't typical for Heartless to center their attacks on one person and follow them everywhere, even if that person happened to be a keyblade master. They had to be following him for a reason, but he didn't know why either... Either way, she couldn't concentrate on that at the moment. The Heartless were still attacking them.
She saw the two Heartless that he brought his sword down on before the third, deciding to go for them herself. With a horizontal slice, she brought her sword through both of them, destroying one but leaving the other. She slashed the Heartless again quickly, causing it to disappear at long last. Unfortunately, those were only a few Heartless that they had destroyed. There were still more left.
"How long have they been following you?" she asked him, readying her sword into more of a defensive position and keeping close to the other.

Arc ducked as one Heartless leapt at him before he could slash it away. Blocking the advances of the next few as he straightened, the drake replied, "Some time now, for perhaps twenty years or so." Dodging the assault of another Shadow, Arc brought one katana down on it while swinging the other horizontally at another. The creature vanished into vestiges of darkness, clinging onto their remnant bodies, but the shadow would not sustain them.
As the dark creatures were shredded and sentenced to oblivion, Arc continued to slaughter the Heartless mercilessly. They deserved no mercy, stealing that which was most precious to those who lived still. Of course, his allies weren't included among that. Calling his friends to him, the twin Dragoons appeared hovering above the ground. Slowly lowering themselves, the Nobodies proceeded to destroy two of the Shadows in the area, while Arc blocked more of the onslaught. It was likely that more would show up, but with Ranseur and Lance there with him, he would be able to hold his own.
And that reminded him that he still hadn't given his name, nor asked for one. Remedying that, Arc introduced himself. "My name is Arc Draco. Might I ask what your's is?" Whipping both katana around, Arc tore another Shadow apart. There was only two left now...except that portals of darkness were opening up. Two Neoshadows, as well as a group of ten Shadows. Now there was fourteen left. But Arc was only just getting started. "I hope you do not mind a good battle. These creatures take some time before giving up."

Twenty or so years... that was a little too long for the Heartless to follow one individual. Akira wasn't about to ask him why that long; the time for that wasn't now. While in her defensive position, she eased the wakizashi into her other hand. If she wanted to get this fight done quicker, two swords were faster than one. Besides, it wasn't as if these Heartless were people anymore; they were just all that was left after the darkness had taken their hearts.
She quickly changed to the relentless offensive, attacking the Heartless alongside the other's monsters. She managed to destroy a couple more of the Heartless, leaving only a couple more behind. The man's monsters were doing a decent amount of damage as well.
Her attention was grabbed when he asked for her name. She now had to make the same choice she made with many others that had asked for her name. The man introduced himself with his full name, so it was common courtesy to do the return. After all, he seemed like an honorable fellow that wouldn't do anything with the knowledge of her name.
"Akira Shinomori," she told him. Her eyes then diverted to the Heartless that were left over. A couple more began to emerge, and then a few more... NeoShadows made their appearance known as well. She grimaced.
"No, I don't mind." She waited patiently until one of the NeoShadows moved to attack her before retaliating, swinging both of her swords in horizontal slashes. Those blows sent it back at least a few feet, but it came right back for more.

The two Dragoons vanished, disappearing due to their Jump ability. Arc, on the other hand, began stoking the fire in his stomach, the flames roaring, slowly becoming red-hot in his body. When he could hold the heat no more, it gushed from his mouth, destroying several Shadows who had been unfortunate enough to cluster together.
Slashing horizontally through two more of the weak Heartless, Arc looked at the girl, Akira, as she introduced herself. She could hold her own. Her fighting style was similar to his own, so he knew she was competent. "You have good form, and an excellent technique. Who taught you the way of the sword?" Blocking the assault of the rest of the seven Shadows, Arc spun around to be back to back with Akira. They were now surrounded by the nine Heartless, being charged from all around, Arc by the Shadows, Akira by the Neoshadows. They would be in dire straits unless they could work together for the win.

(Apologies this took as long as it did)
The breath of fire coming from Arc was certainly a surprise, but Akira found it more practical to get out of its way before becoming toast. Fortunately, she was a decent distance away already, so she didn't have to move that far. It still ended up with her surrounded by Neoshadows, however. The same one that attacked her came back and was oggling at her.
Arc's question caught her slightly off-guard, sending her reeling back into her thoughts for a brief moment. Her aunt's grinning face came to mind, an almost perfect recollection of the night she left attempting to start. "This is why you'll fail wielding that sword." She shook her head, pushing the thought away; now wasn't the time.
"My aunt taught me," she told him, "Thank you. Akira was never one for returning compliments. It wasn't as if she couldn't think of compliments to say to another person, for she could quite easily do that often enough if the person was at least somewhat honorable. This guy was better with the sword than she was-- that was a compliment all by itself. She had difficulty expressing them, however.
The Neoshadows weren't going to wait for her thoughts to finish. A couple of them jumped toward her, which would start an onslaught of them. Akira quickly deflected a couple of the attacks, deciding right then and there that speed would probably benefit her at the moment. After knocking the Neoshadows back a few feet, she put her swords into a still offensive position while they started to creep back. She glowed ever so slightly now, blood seemingly flowing faster now. This was her Samurai Speed finally being used.
The Neoshadows jumped her again, but this time she was more prepared. She cut through them with a greater speed than before, sending them back again and again. Neoshadows were obstinate Heartless as well that wouldn't fall after just a few simple blows.

Arc nodded. Family had taught him the beginnings of his style as well, but it had evolved over time to include things he had learned in his travels. The twin blades spun around, glinting in the twilit air. Two vertical slashes destroyed the Heartless that leapt at him.
The Shadows trailed away into the ethers from whence their darkness had come. Arc turned to face the rest of the Shadows. There was only three left--until one of the Dragoons, Lance, fell from the sky and sent an energy wave rippling through and destroying them. The Dragoon nodded at Arc as his brother Ranseur fell near Akira, sending a second rippling wave through the Neoshadows. He prepared his lance in defense of the samurai. Lance and Arc rushed over to stand next to Akira facing the Neoshadows.

The Shadows were gone now, leaving only the Neoshadows for Arc and her to fight; well, them and Arc's Dragoons. Akira was one that always liked to rely on her own strength and no one else's, including monsters. Though, she was not against the help of these Dragoons in this case. If it helped defeat these Heartless, then it was fine.
Without hesitation, she jumped back to attack one of the Neoshadows, her speed still active. Knowing it wasn't going to be for much longer, she attacked said Heartless with all the speed she had, getting in at least ten hits to destroy it. She didn't bother counting, seeing it pointless. She looked to the other Heartless, attacking it with three side slashes before her speed finally left her.
"You can have this one," she told Arc.

Arc nodded, dismissing his two Dragoon friends. "My friends, rest well. I may need you some day soon." He turned to the final opponent and bowed his head slightly before rushing forward, twin katana gleaming wickedly. The twinned steel slashed through the final creature of the dark manifest, the last of this group of Heartless.
As it faded away, Arc sheathed his blades and bowed his head to his ally in battle. "You fought well. I am glad to have found an ally as such when I did. I may have ended up stuck here for hours otherwise, as they have a tendency to call in allies." Sighing, Arc sat down on the ground, cross-legged. He motioned for the other to join him, and said, "If you have any questions of me, now would be an excellent time to ask them."

The fight was over, at long last. She felt her speed leaving her as she sheathed her swords alongside Arc. She turned and bowed to him as well, a custom not shared by many fighters when they fought together or even against each other. It was a sign of respect, something she supposed was missing nowadays.
"As am I," she replied. "It is not often I find another that fights as I do with a decent sense of honor. You fought very well." His next words were also true. She could imagine being in his position and if she had been stuck fighting alone. Heartless were not creatures that would give up easily and they would have called reinforcements just to win. Fortunately, today she nor Arc had to be in that position.
He then asked if she had any questions for him. She thought back to her previous thoughts that she had let wander while she fought. This man had been followed by the Heartless for at least twenty years. It was quite unusual for Heartless to follow someone that closely, even if they were a keyblade bearer. What made this man different from the rest?
"Why have the Heartless been following you for so long?" she asked him, looking straight at him as she did.
