Man, I was hoping this wasn’t how I’d end my RPing career.
For 8+ years now, I’ve been RPing. For 5+, I’ve been staffing those RPs. I’ve experienced every form of entertainment RPing can provide…ten times over. It really is quite troublesome. I’d love to RP again, to just be a n00b again where everything was so brand new and my writing skill would get better by the week. But, I’ve hit a dead end. The very dead end that I’ve watched a lot of “RP elders” and people my age go through, and quit RPing altogether.
I’m not going to break that cycle.
This is by no means anyone’s fault. Nor is this something where FM itself should be blamed. Seriously. FM is a great forum. It is just time for me to move on in life.
You see, there is very little point in managing and aiding RP forums when I really don’t enjoy RPing any longer. It becomes a chore for something that I get nothing out of, which is not what it should be, nor something I should be spending my time on.
I’ve put friends, school, family, and my girlfriend (who has suffered the most from this [who is not Fenix, who is also leaving tonight by chance @.@]) on hold for FM, but now it is time that I stop before I become troubled and cause those relationships additional unnecessary strain from RPing.
After all, RPing is a hobby. Under normal circumstances, people quit a hobby instantly when they grow bored of it or when it starts stressing them out. But this isn’t a normal circumstance, because I’m in a position of leadership (thus why I’ve held onto RPing for so long), which makes me feel somewhat selfish that I’m just kinda dumping you all like this. Though, it can’t be helped. I don’t want to hold back FM more than I already have with my unstable schedule and flittering work ethic.
I’m quitting RPing and everything tied to it. There is one exception to this statement (Odyssey Authors), but that is because I can RP there without any ties, and thus can RP or write whenever I want, which makes it more convenient for my now busy schedule. Other than said forum, don’t expect to catch me anywhere else other than MSN and YouTube (or my Facebook that I never log into).
If only I could fit FM into my life still.
So, down to business.
As promised when I opened V2, I won’t be closing down FM. I will remove my identity from this account, and give all accounts to Iris and DW. What DW and Iris do with them from there is up to them. They can elect a new admin, leave it open for them to share, or whatever they want to do really. I won’t be asking for it back, so they don’t need to hold it for me or anything. And from here on out, it is their choice on what happens with FM. They can change the forum as they please. I understand it may overwhelm them at first, but they’ll get used to it, but if not, they may always elect a new admin to lead them and the forum onto bigger and better things.
If it wasn’t obvious, I give ownership of everything I’ve done for FM to FM. Rules, plot, etc are now property of FM.
GOD should either disband or elect a new leader/owner.
Obviously, my canons are no longer mine.
My Munny is to be multiplied by 2 and then divided amongst Iris, DW, and Mem as a last-ditch thanks for what you guys have done and what you guys will have to do.
Iris, DW: Sorry for dumping you guys like this. You’ll pull through with flying colors, though. You have members more than willing to help, if not.
If anyone leaves because I leave, I will temporarily come out of retirement to beat them to death. Seriously, stay here. I’m not important enough for this to be such a big deal. Everyone needs to survive this without me; one person should not be the pillar of strength.
The forum has tremendous potential, but now is it your turn to take initiative and preserve that potential and the forum itself.
