The sands familiar sounds washed against the shore. Haru stood on the beach, his crimson hair blowing in the wind. He was wearing camo shorts that went down to his knees and a plain black teeshirt. Round his neck was a necklace given to him by someone long gone. In his ear he wore a silver plated stud. Haru was feeling the familiar breeze he felt those years ago when he'd come here for the first time. He remembered finding people on the beach and making good friends.

'This place, makes my heart beat faster. If only I could rekindle my past'.

Haru thought to himself, his head tilted to the side; completely oblivious to his surroundings.

A flat, black circle appeared in mid-air. There was a type of swirling motion with in it. Suddenly, the circle began shuddering and it spat a man out. The man flew through the air and landed on the shifting sand. He rolled three times and finally came to a rest on his back, his arms and legs spread out. "Shit...." he said with a groan. He quickly sat up and turned his neck left and right. Each time it made a sickening cracking noise. He then proceeded to twist his back and continue making those sickening cracking noises.

Then he noticed the other person standing there. He furrowed his brow slightly with slight confusion and shrugged. He slowly stood up, groaning as he did so, and brushed off the sand. Then he began to walk away.

Behind Haru, someone appeared from nowhere and flew into the dunes. Haru turned round and froze, his face slightly ajar and his mouth wide open. His eyes narrowed as a man was defying death as all his body parts twisted up in strange hellish positions. Then like It was nothing that same man got up and cracked himself back into shape. Haru simply stared as he gruntled:

"Shit".

Haru's mouth closed slowly then he got back into his "I don't care position" and tryed to ignore the man, secretley scared solid.

Joshua stopped and looked up to the sky for a second. Then out to the sun. Then he tilted his head so that he could see behind him. That's when he finally noticed the man that watched Joshua break his body back into shape. His eyes narrowed and he spun around on his heal, sand flying up into the air. His black cloak spun around through the air and landed on his shoulder. He then began stepping through the sand back to the man. The tri-claws on his right hand unsheathed.

"Are you with 'im?" he said as he pulled back his right hand for a punch. The claws gleamed in the setting sun ominously. His voice echoed slightly through the large black mask covering his mouth and nose. "Ah took mah beatin'. Tell 'im ta jist leave me alone."

Haru's eyes widened as the sinister figure started coming towards him and saying things, In slang. That just did it for Haru. Haru seperated his feet in the dunes ready to run away at any moment. He got closer and closer, then raised his fist. Haru froze and his eyes widened further:

"Are you with 'im?"

'Who, what Is he blabbering about?'

He then lowered his arm, Haru at this point did not have a clue.

"Ah took mah beatin'. Tell 'im ta jist leave me alone."

Haru still confused came face to face with a macabre inspired mask, Haru didn't have hitona on him, hitona was over in his bag. Which was a ways away.

"I don't know... What you're talking about, but I suggest you just leave. I didn't come here to fight".

Said Haru as he started to walk away from this strange man.

This man turned his back on Joshua! Joshua closed his eyes and put his hand on his forehead, shaking his head casually. This man was clearly a fool. In a flash, Joshua reached down to his left thigh and retrieve a six inch long dagger. He quietly threw it at the man. The dagger cut through the air with a light swishing sound that could only be heard if everything were completely silent, or if this guy had good hearing and quick reaction time. The dagger was aimed right for the man's back.

Joshua unsheathed all six of his claws, three on each hand. He ran in the sand, by now the dagger would have already hit the man. This was only a precaution in case Haru was able to react quick enough to the dagger and move, but he'd have a lunge from Joshua waiting for him. Both hands were raised in the air, ready to come down on Haru's neck with his claws.

Haru for some reason heard a whisp, he decided to look back to see a dagger heading straight for him. Not acting quickly enough Haru ducked down and the dagger by then had lowered and went straight into his arm.

"ARGH". Haru fell to the floor, writhing in pain. His knee was in a critical condition, things werten't looking good. Haru's eyesight began to fade as he reached out for this armoured phantom. Haru slowly fell to the ground and fell unconcious due to blood loss.

There was a whirring sound, then a load of plasma shot from the large nozzle straight at Joshua's back. It was steaming and acidic, ready to eat away materials and char flash. Yum...

"Maaaaan! This place is supposed to be all safe and peaceful! Who's the psycho who dropped out of the sky and started attacking at random?"

Serenity was standing in the sand not too far away, her arms crossed across her chest. Her head was tilted, pink pigtails letting gravity pull them down. She had been more into the town when she saw something fall out of the side. She was a curious soul. She never expected some crazy to be trying to kill a defenseless guy! How mean.

Plus, Destiny Islands was so technologically behind it was boring...yet she wanted to observe anyway. This was something that caught her interest at least, even if she'd rather not fight. Some boys on these worlds were so mindless.

Realizing the man laying on the ground hadn't answered her, she casually ran/danced around Joshua to the man's side. "Heeeey...you awake, Buddy? ...Buddy?" she asked, shaking him.

Haru could feel his body being shaken, then a surging pain in his leg. His eyes opened to a stunningly beautiful girl, Haru looked up slightly and a blur of the phantom was visible. Haru realized and remembered what had happened and impulsively ripped the blade dug in his knee.

"AAARGH".

Haru didn't attempt to stand up, but instead swiveled in the sand and gave a look of death to Joshua, then looked at the girl.

"...I'm, sorry that you had to be brought into this. But now It's my turn".

Haru got up and began to limp toward Joshua his eyes alight, he stopped halfway and nearly collapsed. Haru shouldn't be fighting, but this was about pride.

"You have my attention, that was a cheap-shot. Now allow me to show you a cheap-shot". Haru discreetly put his hand behind his back and signaled the girl to go hide somewhere.Haru then looked directly back at the girl.

'I'll distract him, charge up a hit...'

Haru thought to himself in hoping that the girl would understand. though mind-reading is impossible no matter how advanced the technology is.

Serenity did understand. He didn't need to be fighting, though, and she knew that. This guy looked just squirrel-y enough to kill him or something right there. His plan would fail...and ultimately she was here to save the victim in this stupid fight.

She shifted on her feel from behind him, adjusting her goggles and helmet before waltzing right up and grabbing his shoulders, pulling him back. Hiding wasn't going to charge her pack any faster anyway. "Sorry..man with a mask, but he...er, we, don't want to play anymore." she informed him, unsure if her first attack had affected him. She then attempted to haul Haru away from Joshua, preferring her save-ee to not bleed to death.

Speaking of save-ee, she turned to him now. "Are you crazy?" she asked, eyes wide. "Obviously he's dangerous and he'd probably kill you for less than what you just did. I've been on this world a few days. It's peaceful and kind...this guy doesn't belong. He may be fun to play with, but I don't want to see the pretty sand all stained with your death and blood."

She was right... He didn't stand a chance. So what do you do? When there's no other choice? You hold your dignity and your pride in your palm and you...

Run

Haru swiftly swivelled around and started limping closer towards the girl, then further and further he went. He was making good progress until his leg gave way and he fell face first in the sand. This wasn't good, not good at all.

"Shiprf"

Groaned Haru with his mouth full of dunes, the blood began to stain the pure tranquil beaches of Destiny Islands. This just wasn't neccessary, It wasn't right.

"You're staining iiiit!" Serenity whined, bouncing over to him and hauling him up awkwardly. Well...kind of hauling him up...but then she put him back down and flipped him over, grabbing his good arm and starting to drag him through the sand toward the town. They needed to get away quickly.

"Is it just your leg and arm that's injured, Mr. Man?" Serenity asked, tugging him along. "..How did you hurt your leg? Falling in the sand?" she asked, some humor in her voice. Well, there was always perky humor in her voice. Sure, he was hurt...but this situation was rather silly.

"Do you have a place to stay here yet?"

Haru groaned as he was pulled, this girl was helping him... Why? As Haru looked up the sun blinded him once more before being asked some questions:

"Is it just your leg and arm that's injured, Mr. Man? How did you hurt your leg? Falling in the sand?"

Haru thought a sec and tryed moving each of his major body parts. His arm and his leg, that was it, yup. These would feel brilliant in the morning thought Haru to himself rolling his eyes.

"No, I came here on a day trip. I made friends with someone named Rose on these shores, then I left. And I came to see If I could rekindle my good times... Though seemingly, all I've done Is lay burden on you. I'm sorry".

"Ah, pesky pesky apologies. You people all give them so much." she said, shaking her helmeted head. She continued to quickly drag him to safety, around a dune and onto the pavement of a walking path to the town.

"I've heard there's something called a doctor around in places for when people get hurt. The database for this world has no information for one, so I'll have to find one after I get a room for you." she said. She was actually searching all the databases right now as she spoke, screens flashing before her eyes.

These places were so low tech!

"If she was your friend, why did you leave her?"

"See here's the thing.... I can't remember. I just remember appearing back at Traverse Town after my visits to Destiny Islands, like I was ment to be there or something. Either that or some force didn't want me here".Said Haru, regaining his conciousness a bit better, It was now nearly nighttime and crickets could be heard rubbing their legs together.

The night sky was beautiful, not that Haru cared. His arm was hurting and he started growing fond of this odd lady. Haru looked up at her as she was carrying him, and his heart began to beat faster again. He made a noise which quickly turned into a cough, to cover the noise.

"S-So, I guess I'll be out on the street tonight then".
