Halloween Nightmare

Sadao, as stubborn as ever, pushed himself away from Lydia. "I told you to stay in a safe place. I will handle this." Sadao's hand with the glove glowed a little, as he ran forward once more. The soldiers' guns were blocked with the darts, leaving Oogie and his dice. He threw some more at Sadao, though he slashed them aside. With a smile, Sadao jumped up and slashed at Oogie, who delivered a punch to Sadao's face. Sadao was sent flying back into a was, creating a crash and dealing some good damage to Sadao. He landed on his feet, though he was barely able to stand. With wornout eyes, Sadao looked at Oogie, with a smile and a line on blood coming from his mouth. "I---win." There was a tear in Oogie, and bugs came pouring out. Oogie tried to stop the flow, but it was impossible. As the bugs came out, Oogie met his end once more, and peace was restored. "Halloween Town......Mission complete..." With those words, Sadao fell down to the floor, with a smile.

"You're a stubborn boy." Lydia said, perky, but slightly irritated at being repeatedly shoved away while trying to help him. The very person who stood there and got hurt without trying to even avoid it. Maybe...Maybe he wasn't so smart. That fact that he'd defeated Oogie didn't seem to matter to her at the moment.

Come up to him, she crouched, not touching him now. She came to realize she really didn't like being pushed away. "Alright...you got what you wanted. Now what are we going to do about your injuries, Sadao? Will you let me take you to get them fixed?" Lydia asked, blue eyes trained on him as she put away her blow darts. "I'm sure Dr. F could do something to help."

Sadao looked up at Lydia, exhaustion filling his eyes. A smile was still across his face. He looked terrible, though it didn't seem to matter to him. "Heh. Overdid it a little; forgive me Lydia. At least I managed to keep you safe. As long as you are safe and happy, then I have no worries. Please just make sure that the doctor doesn't start experimenting on me." Sadao was happy to have kept Lydia safe, and saved HalloweenTown, but something told him that something was amiss.

A non-painful memory flashed through his head showing the mysterious man. There was no sound though. Him and the man were speaking, with Sadao seeming annoyed. Just then, a portal opened and they stepped through it, disappearing from where they were.

Sadao closed his eyes and fell asleep, knowing that he was in good hands. Just then, Jack busted in, seeing Sadao on the floor and Lydia near him. "I heard that you two came to Oogie's Manor, so I cam to see what was going on. Is he alright?"

"He won't if I tell him not to, Sadao.." she said softly, looking up as Jack entered the scene. If only he'd been there a little earlier...

"He's been injured pretty badly.." she said, oddly calm, though it was obvious that there was some sort of...panic edging on her voice. "Do you think Dr. F can help him?" she asked Jack, placing a hand over one of the bleeding wounds. Blood didn't bother her at all. If only she had more hands to cover all the wounds so he wouldn't lose so much blood. He looked so terrible...

Deciding time was of the essence, Lydia started to try and get Sadao standing do they could go. She wished she was stronger, though.

Sadao gave a short laugh at Lydia's comment. "Thanks; that's reassuring. At least I know i wont come out with extra limbs." Jack then busted in, and began speaking. Most of his words Sadao didn't hear, as he was getting tired. He felt like sleeping, but he knew if he did that, he might not wake up.

Lydia put one of her hands on one of his wounds. There was a quick jolt of movement from Sadao, showing that it hurt alot. That was good, because it showed he was still completely alive. Lydia then tried to get him standing, though by doing so, he blood was getting over her and her outfit. Color started to fade from his eyes, showing that he was starting to lose consciousness. "You....my blood all over you........forgive me............should trust you more....


Jack looked at Lydia, then at Sadao. "The docotr should be able to fix him up as good as new in no time. He'll have him up and scaring again in a flash." Lydia then tried to help Sadao up, getting blood on her. Jack could tell that she was struggling a bit. "Lydia, you seem to be having a hard time there. I can take him to Dr. Finkelstein for you. It'll be quicker that way."

"Yes..you should. But I don't mind you getting me bloody. I can change.." she smiled, being a little rough with him to try and keep him awake. She reached up and patted his cheek. "No sleeping...if you sleep Curdling may want your eyes..and you need those." she chuckled, looking to Jack. "Could you? He's a little heavy, despite the fact he's leaking."

Lydia lugged Sadao closer to Jack. "I need to lift some weights...It'd be nice if I could manage taking care of someone myself. I am traveling with him, so if this happens again I'll be in a real pickle. I won't have you or the Doctor...then i'll have to drag him by the arm and it may get pulled out of socket!"

Lydia made her terrible-idea face, then smiled. "If I get stronger that won't happen. BUT! He have to hurry now!"

"Heh. The bird can't take my eyes if they are closed." Sadao fell asleep, falling into a sweet darkness. He began to dream, where he was on a beach when it was pitch black, and the ocean was nothing but blood. He saw Lydia out in the distance, unable to get out of the red ocean. Then, Sadao slowly began sinking into the sand, unable to get out to save her.


Jack took Sadao, and rushed over to Dr. Finkelstein's place. Once there, he barged in, and placed Sadao on the experimentation table. "Dr. Finkelstein; think you can fix him up? He seems to be bleeding a little too much for my tastes." Jack was covered in blood, though it didn't seem to bother him at the moment.

Dr. Finkelstein came over to the table, examining Sadao. "Yes, yes...this is nothing. I can fix him up as good as new in no time. But i will need time and privacy, so out with you." He made Jack leave the lab, so he could begin fixing Sadao up.

"Actually he can. He'd just rip off your eyelids...then get your eyes." Lydia told his sleeping form, just before Jack whisked him off to be "repaired." She couldn't say she wasn't worried-- she was for her new friend. He'd gotten pretty hurt, being all macho and stubborn. Yet...something about him still seemed off. Something about his emotions SOMETIMES seemed weird, and sometimes not. Ah, well that was to be figured out another day.

Lydia didn't leave the lab once there. She wanted to watch the procedure, as well as make sure Dr. Finkelstein didn't do any extra tinkering. She found a seat in a corner out of the way, settling in to watch. Should she scold him when he woke up for not letting her help?

The girl would've much rather had a few wounds herself that for him to get them all and end up in this condition.

Dr Finkelstein worked dilegently, slowing down the bleeding and sewing up the wounds. He was able to stop the bleeding, and basically patched him up completely. It took a while, but he finished, and wheeled away. "That boy is too darn reckless. Injuries all over and nearly dead. He's more trouble than he's worth." Dr. Finkelstein grumbled as he rolled away.

On the table, Sadao had stitches all over, and he was just waking up. He turned his head towards Lydia, an emotionless expression on his face. He just stared at her, with cold and lifeless eyes. He opened his mouth, and began to speak. "A nonexistent being deserves not to be in any world. Fading into darkness might make one who matters happy."

Now at his side for when he woke up, Lydia was only met with confusing words. She quirked a brow, then tilted her whole read to the left a little. "A nonexistent being? What are you talking about Sadao?" she inquired, voice thick with naive misunderstanding, looking him over from head to toe before settling on his eyes. She shivered.

"Everyone and everything deserves to be happy and to exist. Who is it that has the power to say otherwise?" the blue-blond wondered outloud, her finger dangerously close to idly tracing one of his stitches.

"What a strange thing to say when you wake up...are you alright?"

Sadao looked at Lydia, and tried to get up, but a searing pain passed through his body, causing him to fall back to the table. A painful expression passed by his face. As the pain faded, he looked at Lydia, the expressionless face staring at her again. "A horrible truth exists in the life of one, and only sorrow and hate will come from it. I have made you unhappy, so I have failed.......What can you tell me about these Nobodies?" Sadao had come to a conclusion that he was a Nobody, and was the reason why he had abilities that he didn't know he had. The more he could find out about them, the more he could probably figure out.

"I'm not unhappy..you haven't failed at anything other than not being stubborn.." she smiled at him, making sure he stayed down on the table. Moving hurt him too much. The last part of his statement bothered her though. Nobodies?

"I..I've picked up on stuff here and there about...Nobodies, I guess. I think they are the bodies left when I heart gets taken. I don't know how or why, but the main point is they don't have hearts." Lydia informed him. That was all she knew, and it wasn't a lot. She hoped it was reliable. "Why?"

He sure was asking a lot of weird questions...but suddenly it was gnawing on her heart why he may have wanted to know...

"A being without a heart. If what i think is true, then I am nothing." Sadao tried once more to get up, searing pain overtaking him. He sat up, intense pain flowing through his body, and he looked at Lydia. "I am probably wrong on this, but in case I am not, would you still accept a person with no heart?" The glove with the Nobody Mark, feelings of emptiness, and strange powers. Even though all he knew was the Nobodies were empty creatures with no hearts, something told him that the events that ocurred at the white castle in his memory turned him into a Nobody.

Lydia did her best to help Sadao sit up. Frowning slightly at his wounds and making sure they didn't reopened. The frown stayed through his words. "Sadao..you aren't nothing. And even if you don't have a heart, that doesn't make you any less alive. Any less important. Not to me. I'll accept you no matter what..." the girl spoke softly, looking him right in the eyes. "...And should your heart be missing..you're body is still here and that means that you have a second chance. All we have to do is find your heart, right?"

She didn't like talking about sad things. She refused, however, to think of this as a sad thing. Nobody or not, Sadao was Sadao. A friend. A travel partner. Whether he had a heart or not didn't matter to her.

Sadao looked at Lydia astonished. "Even if I am a Nobody, which I'm pretty sure I am, you still accept me as a whole being." Sadao attempted to stand, causing more pain to surge throughout his body. That was when Dr Finkelstein wheeled in, seeing this happen.

"What do we have here? Are you trying to kill yourself? I patched you up as best I could, but unlike my inventions my medical skills are not flawless. You must rest for a few weeks before even attempting to move." Sadao didn't listen, and got up, grabbing his left side in pain. "I have no time to sit and rest. I have things to do and a person to make happy. I wont be able to do anything in bed." Sadao grabbed his shirt, which was on the edge of the table, putting it on and heading for the door.
