Prometheus' Bonds
"What sorcery is this?" Prometheus asked after opening his eyes. The moogle had fallen to the ground and claimed its magic lost and now another claimed to be able to break the chains. The summoner did indeed leap forward and saw at the metallic bonds of Olympian origin, sparks flying as he did. Of cou8rse, even old and rusted the chains were made of tougher stuff than mortals naturally have access to, but that didn't mean the effort was all in vain, at least not that by itself. Enaad would come off of the chains to find one link had been sawed only half-way through. Still, despite not being completely destroyed, it showed sure signs of damage form the attack. t looked as if a chance to keep working on it and free the titan had appeared before them more easily than could be dreamed.
But appearances can be deceiving.
"I see," Prometheus said calmly after witnessing this miracle. His eyes rested upon Easley as ancient wisdom and knowledge pulled answers to the surface of his mind. "A rare one you are, around whom the magic of mortals can not exist. However, this alone can not solve my dilemma. Step away and you will see what I mean."
If Easley did comply to the titan's request then he and the other would be able to bear witness as the damage that had been dealt to the chain repaired itself instantly once it was out of the Magic Canceler's range. If he did not comply then Prometheus would simply explain as he would have anyway so that everyone could understand what he was trying to tell them.
"As long as the binding point still exists these shackles will always return to my limbs and these chains reconnect. Even if I were to stay by your side at all times after using your power to be free, your short mortal life will eventually end and my prison will force me back into bondage without the protection of your spirit. The key to my true freedom does not lie in this. Even with temporary freedom I am too weak from my countless years of idleness to help you in the challenges ahead or to be anything but a burden..."
The prisoner of the gods hung his head, those last words tainted with more sorrow than before. The titan had made the mistake of feeling a temporary glimpse of true hope at the sight of his nearly-broken binding, but the truth of the matter had shattered it completely.
Now he would have to depend upon the chance that Easley's power would help him to undo the workings of the gods in other places around the mountain and find a permanent solution to the problem at hand.

Indeed, Easley's power would not work on this front. Part of him had wondered if the chains were truly enchanted, they might've shattered in his mere presence; such was his gift, such was his curse. But no, this enchantment was far too old and far too cunning. Even if it would it was in his presence, it persevered. Even with Enaad's vicious attack, it persevered.
Easley stepped away from the god as instructed and when he had heard what the giant needed to say, he noted down to himself all that the god had said. Taking particular notice that the chains could regenerate. So, Easley's presence could undo the chains as long as they were within his radius...but only temporally. Outside of his effect, they would return to their prisoner. An annoyingly strong magic, but one would expect so to bind a god. The idea of Prometheus having to dwell within 3 metres of Easley for all his natural life was not appealing either. In order to undo it permanently, Easley would have to first find the source of the chains. The magic that sustained Prometheus' imprisonment; if Easley could come within 3 metres of that, it should be enough. If not, Easley would find another way.
The age of the gods had long past and it was the age of men, the age of science that was dominant. The Nina Scientist had confidence he could face the challenges ahead; simply because he had to in order to get what he wanted. Without so much as a second acknowledgment, Easley quite abruptly took the right path; though he was tempted to take the Lowering Wall Climb, with the threat of flying beasts and his own inability to fly, that might not be such a wise course of action.

Areas Tutorial Congratulations on being the first to set out and try to find the solution to Prometheus' plight. As you continue the task at hand you and your fellow adventurers will find that the Quest is broken up into several distinct areas, each with their own descriptions and action opportunities. Discovering all the areas available and finding hidden ones will help you earn points and discover the mountain's secrets. You already know that to move your character between areas you enter the desired available location at the end of your post, but from now on remember that your entire turn must take place in one area at a time, even if you wish to travel from one side of the map to another. Also keep in mind that your progress to the next area may get interrupted if you set off a trap or trigger a special event in your exploration.
Each area has many items of interest to check out. Some are permanent set pieces but others are possible pick-ups. If a character finds something they deem important and it isn't beyond their ability to do so they can always take it with them, ultimately useful or not. The item will appear in their inventory list next to their name at the top of each area listing in the QM posts until the item is used up or discarded.
Return to summaries that were posted upon the first discovery of the area if you need to refresh yourself on its contents, but remember that areas can be changed through the course of the Quest. The most accurate summaries will always be the newest ones posted. While questing you and other characters will be separated by areas so if a player is catching up on the thread after some time away they can know what they need to quickly by just reading the events that transpired in the area they left their character in and leaving the others for later. Events that can be felt or noticed in multiple areas will always be noted as such in the QM posts.
Never post again if you need to get a response or reaction from another present character in an area before you can keep going, but there is no obligation to wait for other players in separate areas or when you are not specifically interacting with them anyway. There is also no obligation to wait for the QM to post for you if you have not interacted with the area in a new way or have simply stayed idle in thought or conversation with another character, so don't allow your level of activity to suffer to waiting any more than is necessary. Moving between areas is an exception and always requires a QM post with updated character locations to be made before you can progress your character further.
Remember how to follow the Quest via Areas to maximize your role-playing and participation. The Plight of Prometheus is a Quest designed to reward those who are willing to participate in and be committed to it, but of course quality always comes before quantity. Don't get discouraged if your progress is slower than that of another, just try to do your best with the time you have.
Good luck! Easley
Current Location: Snowside Path Description: A narrow path stretches out around the entire side of the mountain, crossing a long distance. The exit to the next area can not be seen around the cliff side from one end without getting at least half way around. The snowy peak angles downward to this side with ice and snow making up the majority of the mountain wall in the area. Several inches worth of varying snow levels have built up along the walkway, offering an impediment to walking progress. Wisps of icy powder are often blown in the air by a gentle but present breeze. The temperature of the area is much cooler than that on the Mountain Ascent or Prometheus' Prison.

Snow Piles
As Easley moved on from the bound-up titan he would find the temperature in the air began to start dropping further as he progressed away from Prometheus. Snow that had slid down from the heights above was gather here and as the ninja progressed he would find walking through it to become more and more cumbersome unless he had a better way than those available to the average traveler. Wisps of snowflakes would occasionally be blown towards his face by the air currents, adding to the chill. At any luck it hadn't yet reached the point of freezing.
There did not appear to be any signs of life ahead, at least as far as the ninja could see or feel. If there were any devices or items related to the mountain's prisoner they may well have been buried eons ago below the layers of powder. The other side of the mountain was not yet in sight so the Magic Canceler would have to start trekking if he wished to see what lay ahead.

A metal pea pod was flicked onto the area in front of Easley, upon contact with the ground, the nanomachines uncompressed the objects held inside. A pair of crampon slippers that would fit perfectly onto his shoes. The crampon slippers, of course, had about 14 spikes upon it in order to increase traction whilst walking through snow, something Easley's shoes did not provide. With this, his walking was at least not as hampered in the snow as if he not had it at all.
Easley danced his fingers and progressively sank his microfibres into the snow around him, as if in search for anything of worthy notice under all the sleet. It was simple for the microscopic wires to penetrate something like snow, when they could go through nothing less than the most dense of metals. If something was to be found under all this, it would be Easley who would find it; with gracious ease and simplicity. If the wires make any contact anything unusual and relay it to Easley's mind as pure information, he could discern whether or not it is of interest.
The temperature did not bother him, though he did manage to calculate almost the precise change in temperature. In this way, Easley trek began and it was soon that he would reach the other side of the mountain to find....

As Easley proceeded through the snow the temperature seemed to drop another degree after every few semi-troublesome steps. As his microfibers felt through the area they would eventually find something hidden in the mountain wall itself, under a hill of snow resting against it that blocked half of the walkway area. Whatever was under the snow could be felt to have the basic rectangular shape of a door with some sort of round wheel on the front. Whatever it was made of was even denser than lead.
The hill of snow was about half way around the Snowside path, a fair trek, but from there the high-tech ninja would be able to see a snowstorm on the opposite side of Prometheus' Prison and a large plateau covered in the cold powder jutting out from the end of the walkway.

Tidus
Current Location: Treeside Path Description: A strange sight indeed, the Treeside path is a small "forest" growing out of the wide path. The stone of the mountain gives way to soft earth at this point as if a garden had been specifically planted and cultivated here, though the trees are the only signs of vegetation. Most of them are wide and about ten feet high; a healthy brown with thick green canopies that turn the Treeside Path into a tunnel of sorts and block out the sky. There are old, dead tress scattered along either side of the path as well, averaging about five feet high and grey to near-petrification.

As Tidus left the chained titan behind with a promise the young athlete would find himself on a narrow path that got wider and wider as it curved around the mountainside. By the time he was fully out of the sight of anyone in the previous area Tidus would be able to see a mysterious sight before him: a very out-of-place forest. Heading further would leave him in the shade of the thick green canopy with no trace of the sky in sight, but a close-up view of the mysterious growths. Should he venture in the would-be hero would also be able to spy a light in the distance, indicating that an end to the clearly unnatural garden was not too far away.

As the magic canceler left the moogle and his summoner to their own free will, Mocko began to float again. His blue nose ,moved rapidly as he shook his head side-to-side, trying to understand what had happened, even though his summoner already knew.
"...I don't like that guy, Kupo." Mocko thought to Enaad, a tinge of fear in his voice.
Not that Enaad really cared as to Mocko's feelings to the magic canceler, but he could see his reasoning. The man was a very unemotional and cold person, despite the millions of others who had gone through situations similar this and were just as lively as ever. Those people were just plain strange.
"Mocko, let's explore the left path." A simple command, but it bound Mocko to do so much more. Taking a spot of Enaad's shoulder, the man began to float. He was a few solid feet in the air, and he noticed something. He could almost reach the ledge to the summit. If he would've threw himself onto the cliff above the titan, Enaad could have made it. But a mention of flying guardians kept him from taking the daredevil jump of the cliff.
That would be something to keep in mind. Would the beast be the Chimera, a dragon, a gryphon, or something totally different?
The two set off toward the left path of the mountain, following the boy with the ball. It would've been wiser to follow the assasin, but he could render all their abilities useless. And to be blunt, Enaad and Mocko didn't feel like being oversized bird-food because some god got himself into a nasty spot.

Neo watched all the events that had followed, Prometheus's introduction, Tidus's ((Rather simple)) attempt to free him, Easley's questioning, Enaad's attempt and the slight hope that had followed. He then watched Tidus, Enaad and his moogle, and Easley all go in their own pathways. Neo decided he should follow one of them, but first he wanted to ask the Titan something. "Prometheus... You seem wise and your gift to the humans seems noble, but... I have heard legends of how the Titans wrecked havoc unto the world... You had just admitted that you were their leader and betrayal is how you survived… So let me ask you this… What made you turn from a monster of destruction into, from what I can tell, a wise and compassionate man? Was it the Millennia of imprisonment that you have endured which reshaped your views of the world? Could it have been the gods humbling you by removing your strength showing you your proper place? Or was it something with more meaning that I cannot infer?” Neo closed his bright orange eyes that glow with his inner energy as he finished this question, Prometheus’s answer would give Neo an idea if this fallen gods compassion was sincere. If it was, Neo would gladly help him attain his simple wish of freedom… He decided to follow Enaad and Tidus because Tidus, while brave and full of hope, was still young and foolish and he could need Neo's help. Enaad seemed to be wise and strong, a good combonation for an ally following him, his moogle, and Tidus seemed best for there was strength in numbers and Easley, while possibly the most experienced, was untrustworthy. He listened for his answer as he began to walk down to the left path. (Exit to left path after hearing Prometheus’s response.)

Prometheus' expression in response to Neo's questioning could not bee seen on the titan's lowered head because of his excess of withered, grey hair. It seemed this warrior was of the heroic sort, not unlike the young man with the powerful projectile from before, but showed a bit more experience and maturity in his interest rather than blind helpfulness.
"You should not mistake me for a reformed monster, child of the gos," the prisoner said with the sadness from before still present. "I am simply without the power to threaten anyone or anything ever again and have served a truly lengthy sentence. If I must live like a mortal with an immortal lifespan, I desire to do so at least with my freedom. The gods would have left mankind in their primitive state, but I offered you the means to grow beyond that... what I ask now is simply a show of thanks if your heart has any to offer. If not, I will offer what reward I can. If that does not satisfy your moral requirements then I can not ask any more of you than compassion."
And with that the once great terror of the chaotic former world once again went silent as another possible saviour set out around the mountain.

Neo would follow the same suite behind the summoner and the two newcomers to the scene would be met with the same strange sight of a miniature forest creating a tunnel of wood and leaves along the wide pathway with scattered dead trunks visibly marring its odd beauty.
Much like Tidus, the new area would offer them no immediate response. It seemed the task of exploration was still in their hands.

Faye studied the "man" and his words for a long time, yet almost as if this was no big deal. Like it was...normal that a very gaunt, shadow of a once great creature was suspended in the air by monstrous chains on an uninhabited mountain.
Yeah, completely normal. Right...
Faye wasn't one to really think..everything through. Her heart of gold and obsession with helping others be happy rather than herself blinded her to the fact that she was ignorant in the common sense and ways of outside worlds. Actually, she was ignorant to anything outside the dark depths of the night elf forest she was born and..."raised" in.
Really..could you count that type of abuse and cruelty "raising"? She didn't display any traits of it other than an intense fear of shadows, night time and plain ol' darkness.
She would've asked him if he was okay, but from what he said she could gather that would be a stupid question, so instead she just grinned encouragingly at him, eyes bright. "Well, I'll free you, Mr. Prom....er..Pr.. Mr. Prom-Prom!" she exclaimed, failing to get his name right, as if it was any surprise. Without much other thought, she decided in her head to help him as much as she could.
"That'd make you happy, right?" she asked, a rhetorical question. She giggled and ran off to the other path the others hadn't taken, the Snowside path to see if she could find anything that would free the poor man. Everyone deserved happiness!

Eureka is what Easley would've said had he been a more poetic person. His wires had found something, now was the issue of unearthing it. His fingers again danced and all too soon the five wires on each hand entwined to become a two whips. He had shortened their length as well. All this so that he could create a rotating fan that could clear away the hill of snow from the path using the rapid circular motion of the whips to dash it to pieces.
His fingers needed not to exert much effort, yet the whips spun with enough ferocity to be mistaken for being driven by a motor. Taking careful and methodical steps forward, Easley began his menial task. He was a careful individual and would leave no stone unturned. Moreso than that, menial tasks were not something new to him; him who took on odd jobs from assassinations to lawn mowing every Saturday. One could only take a gander at what he needed all that munny for.
A large plateau was ahead, one Easley would visit after his job here was done. Though it could hardly be considered quick, it wasn't too long before Easley's task was done and he peered with steely eyes at what he had uncovered...

As Easley worked the buried barricade slowly but surely made itself visible. In the time it took the assassin to completely clear the snow the elven girl with the helpful nature would have been granted ample time to catch up with her hastier new acquaintance.
Revealed to Easley in the mountain was was indeed a door, bronze in colour and dulled from the passage of time but free of any rust or visible wear and tear. It showed no signs of a slit, but the wheel-like device welded to its front seemed to be an opening mechanism is nothing else. Unfortunately turning it would be impossible... where a handle or lever should have extended out was instead an empty hole leading into the inner workings of the device. It couldn't be seen, but if he used his scanning threads Easley would notice a complex pattern deep within the slot, revealing a specific instrument would be required to fit properly.

"..So...we have to find the nob, right?" a perky voice asked from behind the male that had uncovered the door. She was peeking around him with curious eyes, hands clasped behind her back. Her bobbed blue hair fell against one cheek since her torso was tilted slightly to the left. There was a hole in the door, she saw, so how would they open it and see what's inside?
She looked around now, as if looking for the thing to fit into the hole. What was all this white stuff? It was cold here, and the stuff melted and turned to water on her skin. She found this very odd. You see, where she was from it didn't snow. She'd never even heard tale of such things. Faye found herself giggling, even as she turned and started to dig through snow drifts for the possibly hidden item. Oooh, her hands were getting cold, but the stuff was kinda fun to dig in..
Despite the fact that she kind of resembled an excited puppy, she was digging quite quickly while also being quite amused the whole time.
"Think it's in..this stuff?" she chirped without much thought, going about her merry way to help Prom-Prom.

If there were anything else of interest in this Godforsaken snow, Easley would've found it. The girl's digging was rather pointless, of course, she didn't know that and Easley certainly had no inclination to tell her. Certainly something conspicuous enough to fit that complex machinery would've been picked up by his wires. A very specific instrument would need to be fitted there, one that had obviously been lost; but for how long? The door looked palely old yet was in otherwise mint condition. It must've spent some time under the snow. Easley did not believe he would find the instrument here, but he had a hunch whatever lied behind the door would be important to this quest. After all, it was still fairly close to Prometheus' prison; it had to have some relation, right?
So, he trudged onwards, marking in his mind the exact location of the door and the specifics of the kind of door knob needed; it's diameter, it's gears, down to the last minute detail. Easley would recognize the correct instrument on sight with his keen perception. Easley would soon reach that plateau and there he would continue his investigation.

As Faye dug in the snow while finding nothing and Easley made to cross around the remaining half of the mountain path, no short task, he would either hear a disturbance or feel one from his sensing wires. Looking up, towards the peak of the mountains several stories up, revealed the source. Several boulders of snow were rolling down the cliff side towards that latter half of the Snowside Path. They would grow larger as they came down and be twice as wide as a fully grown man was tll by the time they smashed into the narrow pathway and then bounced or rolled off the side to the drop below. The snow hazards were coming in uneven waves over the barest visible edge of the summit, but were rolling down fats and there was much distance left to cross. The first half of the Snowside Path remained untargeted for now, so it seemed a choice was available: Risk the second half of the path and try to beat or avoid all of the obstacles to the other side, or return to Prometheus' Prison and find a different route.

A green-haired boy looked at the flare in wonder from a distence. It was coming from a mountain! "Whoa..." Gapped the young boy. Looking no older then ten or so, Loki had found himself in a new world. It was marked as his first stop for World exploration. Minus Radiant Garden... He saw the flare shot from the mountain, and apparently so did his strange beaded necklace- "Tales of Five"
The black and blue necklace pulsed, "Huh? You want me to go to the mountain?" Loki questioned the beads around his neck as though they could talk... Which in truth they could- but only to him. "Okay!" Loki exclaimed, as he wanted to explore this world anyway! He couldn't wait to see what he could find! His fluffy tail swished in happiness. He began his jouney to the mountain...
The closer he had gotten to the mountain's base- it became apparent to Loki that the mountain was HUGE. Very big! How would he be able to get through it all?! Steeling his mind, determination plastered on his face Loki looked at the big rock. "Well I guess this is where I start..." Loki muttered cheerfully.
The beaded necklace pulsed twice as though confirming the demon boy's words. Though it made Loki wonder. Why did the "Tales of Five" want him to ascend the mountain? It rarely asked for requests- so why now? Shaking his head, Loki smiled chiper. "Well this is where my journey starts!" Loki exclaimed as he began his adventure...
