"Right, AnGEEEAl." Faye nodded, playing with his name. She then shook her head, thinking and unaware that Luther was returning for her. "We were just talking about going back into the mass of angry cyclopes...or yelling to distract them away so we could search the area of the thingy that opens that door. But do one-eyed monsters understand language?" Her eyes shifted to Angeal. "Or you could fly us over the area so we could see if we see anything or strategy for a better plan? you can do that, right?"

"Very well," he said. "I wish you good luck in finding the woman. However."
He looked left, then right.
"I can not recall which direction that one took. I am sorry."
Whether truth or lies, it was impossible to tell.

[Waaah, totally missed this. And here I was waiting for a reply. XD ]
"I can not recall which direction that one took. I am sorry."
“You…” Luther’s yellow heartless gaze seemed ready to burn a hole in Prometheus’ face. He was lying; there was no doubt about it…right? The Black Mantis cannot tell. Prometheus, though appearing mortal, was just as deceptive as a god. There will be no way Luther can accuse him of lying then the Vampire wasn’t sure. Nonetheless, he was very miffed by the Titan’s words. Very.
If he had been younger, more foolish, and of course stronger, Luther would have attempted to wrangle the answer out of this chained man, but he knew it would be no use. Prometheus had been waiting, all these years for his savior; he could bear more pain and suffer than Luther can deal. And Luther was old, his age comparable to the chains that bounded the Titan. As if that wasn’t enough, the Black Mantis was also weaker than ever. Disillusioned by the grandeur of his previous life, Luther remained in denial of his withering powers. And unknown to him, everyday, he loses a bit more of himself.
After studying the paths, Luther found no way to tell which path his elf had taken. He would have to rely on instinct and pure chance here. Burdened by the years on his shoulders and the weakness of his limbs, the Vampire turned his head and left for the tree side path, leaving behind no witty comment, no threat, just the bitterness of a foolish old soul.
[Welp, no fun in finding her too quickly, yah? XD]

"Uh oh..." The numerous tiny limbs that were headed towards Tidus would soon be thwarted away in one single stroke. His weapon once again began to glow brightly before becoming engulfed in a blue colored light. Tidus waited for the right moment to strike and right as they got withing striking distance, he swung his sword downwards slicing the tiny tentacles. The strength from his swing would also shoot Tidus right into the very spot where that mimic was at.
With his sword still glowing Tidus intended on using Spiral Cut on the Mimic itself rather than waste it on some vines. When he finally landed on the ground he was only a few feet in front of the mimic and needed to only take two steps to land a perfect blow. He looked at the mimic and gave a cocky smile before taking two quick steps forward and performed a 360 degree spin with his sword held out.

Tidus used expert timing(No doubt developed from all those games of Blitzball with Wakka back home) to counter the needle spray with his sword, then moved in for the finishing blow. Mimic(5) was rent asunder by Spiral Cut, unable to take evasive actions as well with so many of its limbs extended out. At least, that was one possibility...
A new player in the form of the vampire Luther appeared on the scene just in time to see that last move bu the Destiny Islands kid. That place seemed to have a knack for spitting heroic youths into the worlds, didn't it?
At the other end of the path two tree-like Mimicks still stood guard, unmoving since taking their positions there. If Tidus intended to make his way forward he'd have to deal with these last remaining threats, but it seemed he also had a chance to catch his breath if it was necessary.

Upon arriving on the scene, Luther watched silently as the young man sliced and killed the menace standing in his way. Approaching the young man, Luther again, was silent, watching the two strange trees at the end of the path. It seems that he would have to be aggressive in order to pass. Something he didn’t really enjoy as a past time.
His left hand glowed slightly, and suddenly, a large triangular blade protruded from his sleeve, the metal seemingly merged with his left arm.
“Have you seen a young elf…with blue hair?” The Vampire asked as he passed the youth. It seemed the two obstacles were not going to attack them unless they strike first. Enough time for Luther to ask about Faye again.

Angeal chuckled. This girl had an innocent sense of humor. Her comment on talking to those cyclops brightened his day for a moment. When she asked if he could fly the two over to the summit, he shook his head.
"I struggled to carry the two of you over here. If I carried you each seperatly, I wouldn't have troubles, but I'm not exactly sure I should do that." He paused for a moment. "I'll leave the choice up to you. Do you want me to take you up to the summit one at a time, or do you want to take your chances with the cyclops? And if need me, I can go first for the cyclops."

Tidus landed back on the ground and looked over at the pathway that he was going. Two more tree Mimics were in the way of him getting through to the other side. Whoever was behind all of this really didn't want him to free Prometheus.
"I guess he was right about not underestimating the gods'. Man, they really know how to tell a guy when they don't want him to help someone out." Tidus shook his head in disagreement. He looked around for a moment then walked over to the grass and grabbed his Blitz Ball. He took a look at it, then back at the two mimics and smiled. The ball was then covered in a blue and white aura while he was covered in a blue and green aura.
Tidus began running for the two mimics with the Blitz Ball in one hand and his Caladbolg in the other. When he was about 10 yards from then he threw his sword in a spinning motion creating the illusion of a flying disk coming straight at them. Tidus then threw his Blitz Ball into the air and jumped into the air as well. He shot over the Blitz Ball and leaned backwards as he came falling down. Right before he went down though, he timed everything right on the dot and spun backwards in one single motion with his leg extended forward and kicked the glowing Blitz Ball straight in the direction of where the two Mimics were posted. The Blitz Ball came flying downwards at an alarming speed that matched a cannon ball being fired.

Tidus' two-fronted attack of the spinning Caladbolg and the mighty shot of his blitz Ball certainly left an impression on the two Mimicks(2,3) that were standing guard over the Treeside Path's far exit. They were ripped up and then heavily beaten. Though very hard both of the petrified tree structures were now broken down by a large amount of their original mass with pieces scattered around them. They still stood where they were but it didn't look like it would take much more for them both to be disposed of.
The problem was, it was now easy to see that both were empty. The same black creatures that had been within the other Mimicks were nowhere to be seen. A hole in the ground within the now-open trunk of Mimick(3) gave a clue though.
Sure enough, the ground below Tidus(A few meters off to the left and behind him though, since the creature didn't know exactly where the kid had been and had to guess) up heaved to free a red-eyed black sphere, half-buried. A Mimic(2). It promptly threw three long tentacle arms up at the falling boy, all of which had spear-pointed ends to skewer the would-be hero.
The Mimic(2) seemed quick to take advantage of the fact that Tidus had neither his sword nor his ball when it had emerged. It had been watching the teenager take out the others of its kind, after all. This probably seemed like its best chance.

The flaw with Rukio's plan was that the Cyclops Settlement was no village with buildings. The only thing visible on the wide flat area they lived in were the remains of their food among the snow and several holes in the ground.

Insolent brat…Luther gritted his teeth but said nothing. There was no response—Luther was feeling the brunt of being disrespected multiple times in the same day—as the kid ran past him, taking on the two hostile targets independently. Luther glared at his back, but followed along nonetheless. It seems finding his little elf would be harder than he had imagined since no one was willing to cooperate. For the one time he’s not belligerent, nothing goes his way. Not that many things go his way these days.
Luther was only a few feet behind Tidus before the rude young man jumped, performing an awe inspiring maneuver as he tossed his sword and shot a ball shaped weapon at the two. The vampire did little to help as he observed the two trees shattered on the spot. It seemed that there was nothing he needed to do here, since the child was doing everything for him.
But then those amber eyes jolted from the falling figure to movement on the ground near the two, the Eye of the Mantis finally put to work. Something seemed to be burrowing its way out of the ground. Three tentacles shot out, aimed at the boy. Before it could reach the human though, a blade sliced through all three of the tentacles, severing them in mid action. Luther stood right next to the mimic, only a few inches away from the dark sphere, having closed the distance the minute his heightened sight spotted the stir of the earth.
Taking the chance and the opportunity of such close proximity, the blade that had sliced through the tentacles immediately turned so its sharp point faced the creature. Slamming down, the Black Mantis impaled the sphere near his feet, making sure to shove the blade as far as it can go. Hopefully, it would effectively kill the monster before it target the Vampire, which would be trouble since Luther was standing so close to the enemy.

With the sound of the earth bursting behind him Tidus quickly turned around and spotted the red eyed black ball that had sprung out from the ground. The half buried Mimic threw three razor sharp tentacles at Tidus attempting to impale him.
Tidus performed a backwards somersault dodging the tentacles sharp points and was about to perform another fantastic show of acrobatic skill and strength. But instead a newcomer appeared and sliced the tentacles in half and impaled the black creature. Tidus was surprised but thankful for the arrival of this person.
Spinning back towards him was his sword which he caught just as it was nearing him. He walked over to the stranger and patted him on the shoulder. "Hey thanks for the assist there, uhh.. whoever you are." he said with a bright smile.[/size]

[ All right guys, since I'm technically able to do Quests anymore and I was only continuing this one since I started it back when I WAS able, I've decided to finally close the page on this. Its life has been a bit too erratic to maintain anymore.
Maybe I'll sell the idea to another QM in the future, haha. ]
