Time to do some heroing!

At the smell of nothing but salt water and damp leaves, Shyne took a moment to look around.

...Fate really hated her sometimes.

In her rush to continue on with her adopted mission in life for her dear friend, she'd landed somewhere devoid of human life (or so she assumed) to be saved. Not to say that animals couldn't use heroing also...but generally she'd had saving some human lives in mind.

Yet here she was...on a world covered in green. Intense, humid, wild green mixed with the browns of bark and various other bright colors from flowers and birds.

While normally she may have been exasperated with herself for landing on a place like this, she found herself just walking into the foliage without a thought.

There could be a poor baby animal in trouble! All life is sacred!

It started to sound ridiculous sometimes to her now, that voice in her head that didn't belong to her. That mere shell of what it should sound like, yet it chattered on in her head as if to save her. Maybe somehow he was trying to save her from herself. It was hard to tell, but she couldn't even ponder on that right now. Her mind was taken over by that boy she'd met in Port Royal. The one she'd lost track of, despite being a ninja. He was stuck on her head. There was just something about him that was nagging the heck out of her brain, but she had no idea what it was.

She had no idea why her thoughts kept returning to the man and just dwelling there.

The Ex-sidekick Princess walked along through the emerald life, her pale eyes alert and watching instinctively for anything that might need help while her mind continued its ponderings. A kunai twirled readily on her finger, just in case.

"HELP! HELP!" came a distant cry through the thickness of the jungle. it sounded from above the ground, up in the trees.

Some distance up a particularly thick tree stood a lanky man in martial arts clothing, bearing the unusual combination of shiny silver hair and red eyes. The man's two arms were held out and up, the hands invisible. They were within a thick mass of hanging jungle vines that he seemed to be pulling against as if to free himself.

"I need a machete up here! Or maybe a blowtorch? Some big scissors would be nice, even!"

At the cries of help, Shyne took off at mad speed, leaping over fallen trees and bushes, jumping into the air and running up a tree to run through the branches. It was faster that way, and the cries sounded like they were up away from the ground.

So there was someone here to save!

"I'll save you! Shyne to the rescue!" Bleh...bad line. She was a side-kick for a reason.

Once on the scene, she flipped onto the thick tree and ran up above the man's head, climbing the branch above to hang down by her legs. She'd already heard his other cries and seen that his hands were stuck. Taking her readied kunai knife, she started to hack away at the vines. It was a moment before she looked to see who she was saving. She'd been caught up.

"...you...?!" she asked, pausing her hacking to stare at him with wide pale eyes. Was she really seeing the guy that was plaguing her mind? Or was she really starting to lose it?

"Ah! Thanks a bunch, love," the Nobody said with an expression of simple gratitude as he looked straight up at his would-be saviour. It certainly didn't look like the face of a person being rescued from a deadly jungle. It was more like someone had just found his missing wallet and returned it to him... but hey, it was still wide-eyed and sincere-looking.

Either way, his manner of addressing the girl who's name he did not know in such an affectionate manner nailed him as the same stranger the ninja princess had encountered before.

"You're a real hero," he added before flashing a toothy grin that still looked thankful, if not quite as much as one might expect.

"Er...you're welcome. And thanks." she said, having enough sense about her to at least compose herself and go back to cutting him free. Soon she'd done just that and was flipping off of the branch to share his, landing in a crouch to look up at him. It was the same guy. She smiled, her tanned face flushed from hanging upside-down for so long. He'd called her a hero...it felt nice. Maybe she was doing her job well for Eldin Desura.

How ironic this guy was here, though. Twas fate!

But wait, fate didn't seem to like her very much otherwise...she almost expected something odd to happen to make this seem like less of a good thing.

"So, we meet again. What are you doing here?" the raven-haired ninja asked as she stood to full height. Her voice was friendly, but unbearably curious as well.

"Oh just sniffing around everywhere I can get like always," the one she knew only as "Sparky" answered while the bundle of vines fell and went limp in a cluster over his upper arms. The silver-haired man turned so his right faced the girl ad shuffled his limbs over the side of the wide branch they stood on to let the remaining strands fall to the ground below. "Good thing you were here too."

When the last of the vines had fallen Eldin's Nobody was revealed to eb gripping onto a rather large and bumpy rock, which looked fairly heavy. With a bit of strain in his arms Chaosin moved it between the two of them as he shifted back to face her and then set it down on the branch as he himself moved into a cross-legged sitting position, still holding the stone.

"When this thing got stuck I didn't know how I was going to get it out."

"A hero or side-kick always knows when someone needs help in our guts! Whether our consciousness knows or not!" she exclaimed, though again disappointed with her performance. Her disappointment melted when she saw what he'd gotten stuck for.

"..It's a rock." she stated rather flatly, not seeing anything special enough to get trapped by. But maybe he did? She said down as well, leaning forward to get a closer look at the lump of earth. It didn't seem to be special at all...

"It is just a rock, right, Sparky?" she asked, looking up to him now. "Or is there a diamond in it?" she asked, tilting her head.

" I dunno. I can't see inside of rocks, love," Chaosin answered as he continued to look down at the piece of mineral, brushing it with his hands here and there. He seemed to regard it as if it were a precious metal of some kind... or maybe more like a kid staring at a desired action figure still in its original box.

"But it sure has a funny shape, eh?" he asked with a chuckle as he crossed his arms and leaned back for a better view of the lumpy stone.

He surely was quirky. And though it may have weirded out anyone else, honestly it made her feel better. She smiled. It seemed familiar in the back of her mind, and was comforting. For a change, she wasn't overthinking Sparky or about her lost friend. She was distracted by a simple rock.

Chuckling, the ninja princess nodded. "It is a funny shape. Where did you find it? Did it just catch your eye?" she asked. Maybe there were more she could go look at. Yes, she was considering going on a hunt for a perfectly normal rock, and for no good reason. It seemed like the thing to do.

"On a cliff over there," Sparky aid, looking over at Shyne with glee. "Its overhanging the jungle trees down on this side so I figured I would try and throw it from one branch to another and see how far I could make it before it fell. But then it got stuck in these vines."

The nobody reached over to the sides of the rock ans slowly turned it around so that it was now facing the opposite direction. leaning over it the boy pointed at a few bumps on the side he'd been looking at.

"Do you think this part kinda looks like a laughing face?" he asked.

It really didn't.

"Huh...No, I see an elephant." she said, blinking and then giggling. "It's like watching clouds and making them into things..." she thought outloud while studying the rock and all it's lumps and bumps. She looked closely, used to focusing on pointless things.

"And I think I see a key here....Oh! And a face here." she exclaimed, pointing where she saw such things and then drawing them out with her finger as if to explain it to Sparky. She was enjoying herself with something as simple as a rock and a near stranger. She felt a little guilty inside for being amused while mourning a great loss, but her body and mind demanded relief.

Leaning even closer, she pointed to an area on the lower part of the rock. "Shiny..."

Chaosin laughed at Shyne's amusement. She mentioned something shiny, but if she looked back up she'd find the Nobody staring upward.

"You can make clouds into things?" he asked aloud. After seeming to take her comment for a literal truth the silver-haired boy got up and moved to the trunk of the tree. he began to scramble up it like a monkey. "Gotta get up over the canopy to see for sure!"

He declared his intent but during the scramble Eldin's foot slipped and the shell began to slide off the side of the trunk before falling completely.

"Whoooaaaa!" he yelled, seeming more excited than terrified and grabbed a hold of a hanging vine, which swung him away.

Shyne blinked and looked up as he mentioned the clouds she'd casually mentioned. By the time her eyes find him he was climbing...and then falling. She blinked again, then her eyes widened and she gasped, jumping to her feet and forgetting all about the rock. "Sparky!" she shouted fearfully, launching from the branch to another one a bit below in an attempt to catch him before he caught out of her reach...but he caught a vine and swung away...

He wasn't even scared. He was like a breath of fresh air...though odd of course.

Once on the other branch, she grabbed a vine and swung after him, trying not to lose track of him this time. Not yet. She still needed to work through what was so...catching about him! He'd been nagging her mind ever since they'd met.

"Follow that boy! He may need saving from a rabid sabortooth tiger!

"WHEEEEEEEEEE~!"

As Sparky's vine swung a little over half as far as it would go the lad reached out to grab another nearby one so his momentum would carry it forward as well. Holding it tight with both hands he continued to swing and looked backwards at Shyne.

"You should try this out, love!" he called, though now he could see that she was doing just that so he smiled a big toothy smile at her. "This is fu-"

Crash!

After slamming into another thick tree Eldin's body went limp, fell form the vine, and plunged silently down towards a lake of water below.

Shyne giggled as they swung. Hey! It was fun! The red scarf she wore fluttered along behind her in the breeze from the movement. It really was more fun than she'd thought. Just as she switched vines as well, she heard hi interrupted sentence..

It was the crash that made her heart skip a beat. Fun time was over! Hero mode on!

Where was his voice!? Shyne's face contorted in an odd sort of panic, but nonetheless she had a life to save. While it was true she wasn't aware that some may not consider Sparky to be a "life", either way she had to save him from drowning.

Jumping to his vine, she quickly loosened her grip and fell as well, though more controlled. She had to reach him quickly..but they were falling the same speed. Pulling herself to the tree, she pulled a ninja move and ran down it, thus catching up with him quickly before he could hit the water. Hitting the water from so far up would surely hurt..if not kill..

Shyne launched off the tree and grabbed him mid-air, her free hand reaching for a vine to stop their fall. She hadn't anticipated the tremendous jerk and pain that would cause her arm. "OW!" she grimaced.
