Moments after Xemnas left Hollow Bastion, after Sora had just finished slaughtering a thousand Heartless to add on to his Kingdom Hearts, the Superior returned back to The World That Never Was via the Corridor of Darkness. The Superior returned to see the hearts that came from the Keyblade wielder himself fly towards his nearly complete Kingdom Hearts like a meteor shower of bright pink hearts.
But he wasn't alone....
A dark portal emerged in the center of the street near where Memories Skyscraper was at. Coming out from the portal was Xemnas who took a few steps before vanishing then reappearing at the top of the stairway to the building. He already knew who was persuing him and was anticipating their arrival. It would only be a matter of time before the king popped out from the portal entering Xemnas world. He was curious to see if the little mouse would try to defeat him here.

And so forth came Mickey Mouse, King of Disney Castle and bearer of the Dark Realm's Keyblade. Though short in height he never came up wanting when courage was needed and had so plunged into the corridor of darkness moments before it's closing. he knew not what fate he had left Sora, Donald and Goofy to but they had a lot of friends back in Hollow bastion(And even an unexpected one at that) and he trusted them to take care of themselves. Right now the protector of the worlds had a very clear goal in mind.
Don't let Xemnas escape.
Mickey came flying out of the inky black portal much like he had entered the last and also at the same time, right before its disappearance. He flew a few feet and rolled easily upon landing to end up with both feet planted on the street. It was a street all right, and tall buildings rose up high into the dark sky. As His Majesty slid to a halt he recognized the long-experienced feeling of the Realm of darkness nearby... in fact this world was right next to it. Kingdom Hearts itself was visible in the sky, small hearts slowly gathering into it and weaving together. But there was no time for sightseeing as Mickey tightened his grip on the regal-looking Darkside Keyblade. Too dangerous of an enemy stood nearby.
"I won't let this go any farther Xemnas!" he declared. Mickey was no fool, despite the rashness of his actions. Any number of Organization XIII's members might appear here, even if Sora and Riku had already taken out more than half their number. Still, Mickey could not pass up this chance.
He would find a way home, no matter the outcome.

The Superior smiled once he saw his old friend standing before them. He thought back to when he was human and the first time he encountered the King. He learned so much from meeting the king so he was quite pleased to see him. Even if he didn't actually have any feelings. At the time he never would have expected that they would see each other again under these conditions.
"How have you been your majesty? Traded away our cloaks for your regular clothes again?" Xemnas said, well aware of Mickey as well as Riku dawning the Organization XIII uniforms. It was understandable for Riku to have one but for someone like Mickey it didn't take much to figure out who was under that hood with two round ears sticking up from under it.
Xemnas looked up at the night sky, at his Kingdom Hearts. It was almost completed now, just a matter of time now.
"You can't prevent this from happening. All hearts released by the Keyblade will gather here to my Kingdom Hearts. It is where they belong. In order to stop this you would need to stop slaying the Heartless, and that is something your heart will never let you do."

"Maybe not," Mickey admitted to this perversion of an old acquaintance. He couldn't stop fighting the Heartless any more than Sora could, for if they did not then countless people could be hurt across many worlds. "But there is another way to prevent your plans."
With that the King started to run forward towards the steps of the Memory Skyscraper, golden Keyblade he'd behind and out to the right of himself in readiness. His tiny black eyes were locked on target, and though Mickey Mouse may have been a small person that didn't make his approach any less of a dangerous one.
"I can stop the one planning to misuse it!"

Xemnas stood there sort of disappointed in the kings decision. How could he foolishly let his heart get in the way of logical thinking? Mickey could not defeat him alone, like Sora and all the others he got his strength from the help of others. Now that he was alone, he was no match for him. Wielder of the legendary Keyblade or not, Xemnas was well aware that these people relied heavily on friendship. How silly was their reliance on their friends.
Xemnas summoned one of his Aerial Blade in his left hand leaving his right hand free. Mickey was now walking up the stairs in his direction when a line of beams appeared right in front of him firing one by one at Mickey. Even if he managed to jump out of the way to avoid the first fired shots. He would just get hit with the others that fired in the direction he went.

Xemnas didn't have a heart so he couldn't understand why Mickey would fight alone. With friends it didn't matter if they were physically by your side or not. Donald and Goofy.... Sora and Riku... Queen Minnie... all of them were a part of his light, and that light would not yield to the power of Nothingness. Not today.
Mickey reached the stairs and kept going towards his opponent. The single red aerial blade drawn was reason enough to be on full alert, the Nobody of Xehanort was a force to be reckoned with. A line of energy blades appeared in the air in front of Mickey, firing one by one at his ascending path. The King hopped up a short distance, just barely arcing over the top of the first blasts as they scorched the stairs behind his thin tail. A second volley was aimed directly as his new position as soon as Xemnas could see what evasion the King had chosen so they could be sent there appropriately. Mickey was a sitting duck in mid-air... or at least most people were.
The Keyblade held behind him Mickey swung it forward into a buzz saw type of maneuver, but it wasn't as simple as that. The force of his upwards swing actually threw His Majesty's tiny body, adding new momentum to his hop in a much higher arc. The buzz saw now cleared above the trajectories of the second volley and came back down at haste, bearing upon the Superior himself.

Nothingness was an eternal essence that could never be stopped. What was his reason for trying to stop him? So complex was the heart sometimes. It was a good thing for Xemnas that he gave his heart away so that he would no longer have a need for it. Nothingness had no need for the light as well as the darkness. Being cast away from the two it grew to never rely on them thus making it the supreme power. While light and darkness would always counter balance with each other preying on both weaknesses, nothingness stood alone with no equal. It was superior. And this fight would show Mickey just how weak his light really was as well as the darkness that was his Keyblade.
Mickey’s attack however would be put to a halt as a crystalline barrier formed in front of the Superior protecting him from the king’s attack. The force from the Mickeys attack would then reverse back to him knocking him back to the equivalent of the force of his attack. Xemnas then used his free hand to tap his barrier sending it flying forward towards Mickey smacking the king right after he was sent back from the barrier. But this wasn’t over just yet.
Forming behind where the king was at was another line of energy beams formed in a vertical line all aiming right at the king. One by one they fired in the direction of the king.

Mickey's downwards slash slammed into Xemnas' barrier, bouncing the mouse backwards clear over the steps of the Memory Skyscraper, his small light body easily flung about. The King seemed momentarily jarred by the repulsion but he recovered enough in his fall to open his eyes and see the wall flying right at him. Mickey performed an uppercut slash with his Keyblade in mid-fall and used it to throw himself upwards and at a slight forward angle, canceling his previous path. As he skimmed above the the top of the barrier Mickey spun around in his hang-time to get balanced and saw more red aerial blades firing his way.
With the Darkside held out in front Mickey dived forward, spinning the weapon like a propeller with both hands. Being so small it was easy for the mouse to hide his entire frame behind this barrier as it swatted away the blasts until he landed back on the ground from his dive and began his second charge to the stairs, much like the first but with a better idea of his enemy's abilities in mind.

The mouse had indeed proved his worthiness of carrying the Keyblade. Xemnas was quite impressed but he had already known the King had many years under his belt with the Keyblade. If Sora had even half the kind of skill and power that the King possesed then he may prove to be a challenge to the Superior. But all of their strengths were miniscule compared to Xemnas. They Keyblade was a powerful weapon, but they all had yet to fully understand it's true power. Mickey was probably the only one out of them who had a good idea of being able to unlock the Keybaldes full potential. But the problem was, so did Xemnas.
As the king ran up the stairs Xemnas would be on the opposite side slowly walking down the stairs making his way to the king. As he walked down the stairs the beams of energy formed around Xemnas firing off at the king one by one with another line of three or four beams being formed right after the previous one was fired and were fired off as well repeating itself for about several times.

Mickey knew Xemnas wasn't afraid to face him in melee combat with those aerial blades of his, despite the ranged tactics he was using so far. No, the Superior was merely using his varied skills to show the mouse his power and the possibilities possessed in his fighting style. or perhaps he was testing the King? Even toying with him? It was impossible to tell with a being that had no heart. What was sure though was that by comparison the King had little to work with.
But what he did have was polished to a mirror shine.
More beams fired at Mickey as the taller opponent approached. This time he did not leap at all but halted into a solid stance at the bottom part of the stairs, bringing his Darkside in front of himself like a shield and supporting it with one hand in the silver grip and another on the back of the golden blade. Here Mickey took the blasts one by one, refusing to lose his ground as they slammed into his legendary weapon. He couldn't neutralize all the damage this way but he could convert it into wear on his endurance instead of actual physical trauma and he could prevent himself from being blown away again.
'Donald, Goofy, Riku, Sora... give me strength!'
Xemnas was coming himself now... and the danger would only be greater when he arrived. But then that was exactly what the King wanted. Playing turtle simply wasn't his style, but he would wait this one time for the chance to see what Xehanort's Nobody could do close-up.

The King was now a cornered mouse as the beams of energy continued to fire at him. The distration was all part of his plan. In an effort to show the king just how strong he and the others really were without having to have someone else there to back them up Xemnas continued to walk down the stairs getting more closer with each step.
Xemnas was now a mere three steps above the king looking down at the short mouse with an evil grin on his face. Forming behind king Mickey was another one of Xemnas barriers. Even with those huge ears of his Mickey wouldn't have been able to hear it appear behind him, especially with the energy blasts firing off at the same time.
Xemnas brought his red energy sword up into the air then rushed forward in a smooth sliding motion swinging his sword backwards giving it more momentum when he brought it back up from under the king. Would he be able to block both the sword and the remaining energy beams that were firing at him all at the same time? It seemed very unlikely.

Unlikely indeed.
As the blasts became closer just a steady shield was not enough as Mickey began to move the Darkside in twirls and slashes as best he could, taking some unfortunate grazes as he missed a few blasts but having enough protection from the power of light to endure. His last defence was a copy of the propeller maunder form the earlier dive with both hands, fending off the last of the shots. Of course now there was a barrier behind Mickey meant to be used in the Superior's tactics and the deep red aerial blade of his enemy was incoming with a powerful slash.
What happened next was so smooth that it would have been impossible had the King not been preparing for it from the beginning. As Xemnas slashed Mickey altered the angle of his twirling weapon so it was more horizontal and in front of him, aimed down. The shaft of the blade came into the side of the hostile rising energy. This was not meant to parry the attack however as Mickey had not the brute force to do so when Xemnas had put so much force into it. Instead the mouse was propelled by his own spinning and with a snap held tight the handle before he was thrown up and around the side of the slash with his tiny body, arcing directly by the Superior's right side and leaving the remaining energy shots behind as well. In a flash the King would spin like a top in the air after the Keyblade had left the aerial blade. With any luck he could bat the Nobody away with the spin before landing on the stairs.
Mickey would feel the burn of a few energy shots during the propelled arc as he was left unguarded, but his momentum would be strong and his will to bear the damage solid. Hopefully he could be rewarded for the sacrifice.

As the aerial blade made contact with the kings Keyblade thus sending him flying towards the Superior once it left his weapon. But Xemnas was now ready for his next move. His free hand that did not carry the other blade of energy before was glowing red and Xemnas appeared as if he was about to punch the king right square in his black noze. Instead he opend up his hand and the second aerial blade came forth out from his hand as his arm pushed forward in the direction of the king.
Xemnas had stopped his swing from before midway about a mere three feet off the ground which had mickey right in front of him at eye level once he broke off from Xemnas aerial blade. Since his blades were about four feet in length it didn't take much effort or movement to have it some in contact with Mickey. In fact Xemans needed to only move his arm about a few inches to get in contact with the king. With the king heading towards him as well the impact would deal much more damage if Xemnas didn't jab straight for him. While he wasn't sure where he would hit Mickey, Xemnas did jab at a point where he wouldn't hit his sword even if he had it held pointing straight up or down which wasn't the case since he was trying to swing at the Superior like a bat so it was still in a horizontal position.

Xemnas' attack jabbed into the King's belly before his shorter range allowed him to strike with his spin and knocked the mouse back. It was good that the Barrier created by Xemnas had already dissolved away or else His Majesty would have been bounced right back to the Superior, stunned and open to another beating.
Mickey bounced once, now several feet from the bottom of the skyscraper stairs, and then stopped on his feet, sliding a short amount with his left hand on the ground and his Keyblade held behind him again. If Xehanort's empty shell thought that Mickey Mouse would be humbled and downtrodden after losing the exchange however, one look into his still-focused eyes upon the lifting of the mouse's head would prove otherwise.
"I'm not out yet!" he said, hopping a short distance into the air and pointing his Darkside straight at the enemy. Light gathered at the tip of the blade and then fired off in a shot, the King's Pearl spell sending a thick homing bullet of holy magic heading the Superior's way.

The attack had made contact and sent the mousketeer back to the bottom of the stairway. Mickey got right back up and was ready for more pain. At leas that was how the Superior saw it anyways. He had to admit the little king had alot of fight left in him. He wondered what the outcome would have been if he used more power in his thrust. But toying with his enemies and their hearts was a pleasure Xemnas enjoyed if he had the ability to feel joy that is.
Mickey hoped up pointing his Keyblade at the Nobody then fired a thick beam of light energy directly at the Superior. To show how futile his attacks would be, Xemnas stood there as he called forth another barrier in front of him to block the beam. While this was happening three crystals bearing the Nobody symbol appeared around the king twirling around him in a clockwise motion. He would soon realize what these were meant for in due time.
