Selia watched her with mild sympathy, half amused by her frustration. It was normal that she wasn't going to be included to the two's talk, being a stranger, but the girl had the right to be let in. She was the one who had set the other teen free, last time she had checked.

She knew the red-haired feelings quite well, and she was experiment then to a degree even now, but when it came to close friends, it probably was worse. It was like lack of trust on their part, she reasoned, and the worst was that it was accepted universally, most of the times.

"I don't think getting angry will make it better." she offered tentatively. "It only makes you feel worse, and him behave even more like an overprotective hen."

Riku chose to look the other way but could still feel Kairis piercing eyes stare evily at him. While he was clearly stronger than her, he wasn't about to get on her bad side in any way shape or form.

Cecil looked at Kairi to answer her question.
"There is a guest room in the castle where you can stay at for the time being. Your friend and myself have to go and talk to the king. After we get things settled there you are all free to go."

Riku turned over to Ceil and asked."What about the guards? Once they see me out of the prison they'll try and ambush me."

"Not as long as you stay by me. I'll take care of things from there. Come we have to go now."
The Dark Knight led the way down the hallway haeding towards the exit. Riku would follow close by behind him.

And Kairi would follow also.

Oh no, she didn't come save his butt to be left behind while the boys went about being...boys. No, no, that's not how things worked in her book. A small frown tugged at her lips, her eyes moving to Selia as she spoke.

"I know, I'm not angry. But I'm not staying here either." she replied, her tone hinting her stubbornness. And he had the nerve to avoid her gaze! Her irritation was causing her chest to ache, but only for a moment because suddenly she walked to the door and after the two. A smile suddenly appeared on her lips.

"Besides, who'd gonna save his butt if this is actually a trap?" she asked, sounding almost cheeky as she looked back at the two females, then stepped out into the hall and followed them.

With the others following Cecil he would lead them from hallway to hallway from stairs to stairs for about a few minutes until they finally reached a door with light seeping through the cracks of the door. Cecil reached over and slowly opened the door.

Waht they saw was a magnificent world full of life. Airships could be seen flying past them from above sailing the skies towards their destination. Not that far off from them was the castle where the king was at. Cecil had prepared an airship for them all, ready to take them all to the castle making the trip easier and shorter. A group of men went over to open the entrance deck for them, then walked into the ship saluting Cecil as they went in.

"I hope none of you all are afraid of heights." Cecil jokingly said who was seen already in the ship waving the others to come in.

Riku shook his head in annoyance as he examined the ship. "Is this your first time flying in a ship Kairi?" he asked.

Kairi looked around, then at the ship. She paused only a moment before starting into the ship. "...I think so, Riku." she nodded in answer, looking back at Riku and smiling slightly. She hadn't gotten a chance to stop and realize that she'd actually found the friend she and Sora had been worried about. Sora and Kairi had returned from where ever they'd been at the same time, yet Riku hadn't been found at the time. No one knew where he was. It was luck she caught word of him being imprisoned, though she hadn't been with Sora when she came across the information. That was the only reason the brown-haired hero wasn't here also.

Her smile widened at him under this new realization. "We'd been looking for you." she let him know in this idle moment.

Riku paused for a moment already knowing that this conversation would bee brought up. "I had a feeling you two were. But at the moment I have other matters to deal with."

Riku had chosen to avoid Sora and the others and go on his lone wolf journey once more. To find answers only he was able to find out on his own. He knew Sora and Kairi were tough enough to handle themselves so he never tried to find them. Everywhere they went they had good friends who were always there for them. Riku wasn't so lucky in that category. He seemed to attract more enemies then friends, but he didn't care anyways.

"You can tell Sora that I'm alright. He doesn't need to go around looking for me again. Besides from the looks of things he's got more important things lying ahead of him."

"You know you don't have to go it alone." ' but you do it alone anyway, don't you?' she stated, adding the last part in her mind, both irritated and..well, kind of hurt as she continued more onto the ship, crossing her arms. Any other time she'd been her normal, soft spoken, encouraging self, but this was sort of the icing on the cake under the current circumstances. Insensitive jerk.

With what she suspected was going to be her eventual outcome, it'd be nice if she could see a little more of him so the three could have a little time together, but she could see that was unlikely. He knew he didn't have to do anything alone. He had friends, and pretty darn good ones. Yet, he still insisted he had to do everything alone. It was infuriating, really.

"The three of us just can't work together at the same time, can we?" she asked softly without turning around. She'd been worried about him...and this is what she got. But then again, it wasn't totally unexpected, as sad as that was.

Couldn't he see that thing might actually be easier or something if he'd just stop being silly and let them help? Kairi took in a deep breath and sighed refusing to let herself get upset or angry. It was something she wasn't used to dealing with, but it felt like a struggle that might lead her to another episode.

Managing to calm herself significantly, she forced a smile. "Okay, I'll tell Sora for you."

Riku placed his hand on her shoulder thanking her without really saying it. Had she known the circumstances that were going one he knew she would probably understand if not try and help him. But time was getting short and Riku already knew that things were about to get hectic. It was a good thing Kairi was a princess of hearts or it would have happened much sooner. Had it been Sora or the King, Riku wouldn't have been able to control it. This was one reason why he did not want to be found by them.

Sora needed some time to himself as well. He needed to get stronger and Riku already knew it wasn't gonna happen if he was around. Too much goofing off from Sora probably would have made Riku weaker as well. Kairi didn't know but this would all be for the best even if she thought otherwise.

The three of them entered the airship while the other two stood outside. Cecil looked over to see them standing there.
"Are you joining us or not? You are free just so you know so you don't have to come with us if you don't want to."

"I never say no to a free flight." answered Selia cheerfully. She had stayed silent to let the two teen have their little chat in peace. Sometimes it was better to sort it out by yourself, her parents told her when the people they took care of acted a bit harshly and refused any help. Not that this was the case, but had a feeling it applied the same principle as well.

She turned around and grabbed the faerie delicately. "Sorry if I'm rude, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to stay with those soldiers again." she mumbled, entering the ship.

One of the ships crewman walked over to Cecil saluting him first then spoke,"Captain, we are ready to set sail."

"Good lets get going then shall we?" Cecil was somewhat nervous going back to the castle. Bringing back a prisoner who was in jail for high treason was treason enough. But it had to be done. Cecil needed to know what was happening to the king and this outsider seemed to know just what was wrong.

The crew shouted out "All aboard!!" as the walkway was being pulled backinto the ship. The airships propellers began twirling around lifting the ship up from the ground and into the sky.

Once it got high enough the ship went forward and it set sail for the kings castle. Riku was at the side of the ship gazing at the sea of clouds as they flew past them.

Kairi was also gazing over the side of the ship, a good few feet away from her friend. She leaned against the edge to get a good view, though she only seemed to be excited and enjoying the sight for a few moments. Soon she had eased into a distant state of mine, subdued and deep in her thoughts.

Idly, her palm rested over her heart as her mind wandered. Her gaze was set somewhere low in the clouds, though she didn't see them, or hear anything around her. Just a spacey silence.

Cecil walked over to Riku. "So do you believe that the king had indeed been taken over by these Heartless you speak of?"

Riku turned around looking straight at Cecil with a very serious expression on his face. "It is very likely, if he is then there is very little hope for him. If it's by someone who isn't a Heartless then there may be hope for him."

Cecil nodded. "I hope it is the latter of the two." he walked over to the other side of the ship wanting nothing but to be left alone at the moment. Riku could understand this and chose to just let him be. He had his own problems at the moment. Riku pulled out his Keyblade. Still nothing. The Way to Dawn was still just an ordinary weapon. Riku had pretty much figured out certain reasons as to why it was like this, but he was still unsure of how to stop it permanently.

There was a strange atmosphere in the ship. The girl with red hair was staring into space, both literally and metaphorically, probably deep in her thoughts.

The... young man with white hair -she couldn't ignore he looked way older than her, in a way- instead, often stared at his weapon. It was curios object indeed, shaped like a key, but she couldn't understand while he looked it like he expect it would start moving any second.

'In what I have just gotten myself into?'

"Ehr, where are we going, exactly?" she asked, more to break to silence than for an actual desire to know.

To answer her question a crew member who had been running back and forth carrying ship equipment stopped to answer her. “We are headed to the ruler of this lands castle.” After answering her he continued on his merry way.
But all of a sudden he was swooped off of his feet by a Heartless with bat-like wings who carried him off of the air ship. Dangling him for a few seconds the Heartless let go of its grasp on him sending him falling towards the ground.

Soon dozens more appeared from the shadows and in the sky via their dark portals and began attacking the ship. More winged Heartless dove into the ship trying to grab more of the ships passengers to throw off the airship.

Riku and Cecil sprung into action the minute the Heartless showed up. Riku fired a blast of darkness at one of the Heartless that was chasing a crew member around blowing it to smithereens. He then spun around swinging his sword in a vertical upwards swing, as he turned he ended up slicing a Heartless that had crept from behind. The Heartless vanished in a thin cloud of dark smoke.

Cecil ran towards one of the flying Heartless that was low to the ground jumping on its back then stabbing it right in its chest. He pulled it out and tossed it into the air spinning it around like a fan as it pierced a Heartless that was flying around above him. The Heartless quickly vanished into thin air with the sword being caught by Cecil.

He thought to himself, “Is this being caused by the king?”
